Chapter 41 - (Chapter 41) — “Daiva Kingdom”

Scene: Precious walks across an open field. Grass and scattered trees stretch out; mountains loom far off. Gentle, harmless beasts graze in the field. In the distance a massive tree appears — it looks enormous even from far away.

Kail (Precious's mana skill): That's it — the Infinity Tree, Precious.Precious: Ugh, finally we've reached it. Training Chama took a lot of time, so let's quickly take a small piece of this tree and then aim for the next resource.Kail: Yup — gotcha!

Scene: They cross through a nearby village and then approach the tree.

Precious: This is really huge.

Scene: The tree rises above the clouds. Precious steps forward and is about to cut off a piece of wood when someone appears and calls out:

That person: Stop. Please — don't disturb the Infinity Tree.Precious: Huh?

Scene: Precious turns. The person is from the Daiva race.

Precious: Who are you?Bola: My name is Bola. I ask that you please do not touch the Infinity Tree.Precious: But I only need a small piece of it.Bola: Please don't. If you do that, everyone on this planet could die.Precious: Huh? How?Bola: This tree is connected to the planet's core. That's why it holds so much power. If the tree is damaged, the core could be harmed — and that might destroy the planet itself.Precious: I see. But I only want a tiny piece.Bola: Look, I can't stop you by force — you are very powerful — but we would do anything to protect this tree. Even if it meant fighting four Titans themselves.Precious (whispers): Four Titans… who are they?Bola: As the village chief, I'm asking you this. We villagers all saw your unbelievable power when you came — we felt it from far away.Kail: What?! They know about your power? I'm shocked.Precious (to Kail): Same.Precious: First — how do you know about my power?Bola: Your aura is different from everyone else's. Your presence is both blissful and dangerous — like an infinite space that can contain everything with no end. How could anyone ignore such a powerful being?Precious: Well, I've hidden most of myself — not completely, but enough that even a primordial wouldn't notice my aura. How did you see it?Bola: The Daiva's eyes are special. We can see things other beings cannot — we can see spirits.Kail: Anyone can see spirits.Bola: I mean the true spirits.Kail: What?! True spirits?! Wait — did it just see me?! (shocked)Bola: You understand correctly — as a great being, I can see the skill that's beneath you; I can see what he's showing.Precious: I see. The Daiva really are special — different from everyone else.Bola: Compared to you, we are nothing, great being.Precious: Well, I enjoy learning about you, but I really need at least a small piece of this tree.Bola: I can't stop you, but I also can't let you destroy the tree.Precious: I don't want a fight either — then what should we do?Bola: Every so often a part of this tree breaks off and falls to the ground. You can take those fallen pieces.Precious: I see! That makes it much easier — when will one fall? (happy and excited)Bola: It happens randomly every 2–5 million years.Precious: Huh?! (Precious reacts like it's nonsense) So I'd have to wait millions of years?Bola: No — a small piece actually fell just a week ago.Precious: What?! Where is it now?Bola: You see, even a small piece of the Infinity Tree is extremely rare. When it is about to break, many people gather to watch and take it. The moment it separates from the tree is when people try to claim it — because while it's attached, no one can break it. So they wait for it to fully detach, and as soon as it does, some take it and it goes to bidding.Precious: I know the tree is powerful — I didn't ask that. Tell me — where is the piece now, and where will the bid be held?Bola: I think the auction will start in about two weeks. It will be one of the biggest events in the kingdom. The nearest city is Jagne, which is under the Kingdom of Muskan.Precious: Thank you for the information, and sorry for the disturbance. I'll go now.Bola: Great being — please don't do anything rash to this world, and protect it from the Four Titans.

Scene: Precious flies away.

Precious: Wow… I really want to learn more about the Daiva eyes — they can see what even primordials cannot.Kail: Right.Precious: And those Four Titans — do you know who they are?Kail: Hmm… I don't know details, but I know they were the most powerful and dangerous villains of the past.Precious: I see.

Scene: Precious continues flying. After a short time he crosses the kingdom and reaches the Kingdom of Muskan, then the city of Jagne, and lands.

Precious: So this is Jagne City — it looks like a normal human city.Kail: Yup. On the mainland most kingdoms are human.Precious: I see. So where is the bidding taking place?Kail: What can we do? Bola said it's in two weeks, but you arrived here in ten minutes.Precious: That's true.Kail: Then let's kill some time.Precious: Okay — first let's register at a hotel to stay.

Scene: Precious goes to a hotel, checks in, and goes to his room to rest. He sits in a meditative pose on the bed for a long time.

Kail: What's on your mind, Precious?Precious: I'm thinking about how special the Daiva eyes are — they might be in danger.Kail: …?Precious: Because of their eyes, many will aim for them — they are unique and powerful.Kail: That's true, but the Daiva have lived here not for a thousand or two thousand years — their race has existed for millions and millions of years here, so nothing much has happened to them all this time. So likely nothing will happen now either.Precious: I think — and hope — you're right.
