Liv spent the whole day lying down because her body still felt weak. But now she felt well enough to walk toward the door. She could hear a few servants passing by, talking about how Jay hadn't left his office because he was busy and how everyone else was also swamped with work due to the winter season.
Maybe Liv was the only one who wasn't doing anything right now.
She opened the door and found a guard standing in front of it. His name was Joe, and he immediately bowed to her.
"Should I call your maids, My Lady?" Joe asked.
"I just want to go to the Duke's office," Liv said.
"Of course. I'll escort you," Joe replied politely.
Liv simply nodded. She walked calmly down the hall, occasionally returning small nods to greet the servants bowing to her. Yes, she was the lady of the castle, so everyone paid her respect but Liv also knew their respect wasn't sincere. She was an outsider, and more importantly, a human.
