Winter in the north was always the same a season marked by endless storms, inactivity, and people sequestered indoors. As they said, the northern winter was so extreme that for nearly the entire season, blizzards raged outside; on the rare days without a storm, calm only lasted for a moment.
Liv went nowhere except into Jay's arms their days a repeating rhythm of sex, eating, sleeping, talking, reading, and doing everything else confined to the bedroom.
For Liv, who was experiencing this place for the first time, it was suffocatingly boring. But she endured it, grateful at least for the intimacy it brought with her husband.
"Are you bored?" Jay asked, catching her gaze as she silently watched the snow fall outside the window.
"Is winter like this everywhere else?" Liv wondered.
