Jay glanced at the bags nearly full. Not one bag. Not two. But several.
Mira added softly, "She didn't stop, Your Grace. Every time we thought she was full, she reached for the next dish."
Jay was silent for a long moment. The night breeze blew past them, but he didn't move.
Slowly, the corner of his lips lifted somewhere between admiration, surrender, and a husband realizing just how strange his wife's pregnancy cravings had become.
"…She ate all of it alone?" Jay repeated again, as if his mind still resisted the idea.
Annie nodded quickly. "Yes, Your Grace. Not a single thing was left."
Jay took a long breath, straightened himself, and something shifted in his expression a kind of quiet pride mixed with the protective worry of a man who had finally accepted the unpredictable reality of his wife's pregnancy.
"Very well," Jay murmured. "Next time… prepare two carriages just for her food."
