Axel was still lying on the ground staring at the nothingness of the almost dark hallway. He breathed hard continuously, terror running through his mind as he remembered what just happened to him.
Kyle approached him slowly, with caution. He too was completely terrified of what happened. To him, it looked like Axel was either being possessed by a demon or was being exorcised. But demons weren't real…right?
"A-Are you…are you okay?" He asked.
Axel didn't even register what Kyle had asked, his mind was still blank and being ridded with one question. 'What was a halfling'
A sharp grunt escaped the mouth of the student Axel had knocked down, causing Kyle to flinch and Axel to snap out of his daze.
He glanced around until his eyes landed on Kyle. A horrified look appeared on Kyle's face as Axel's eyes met his.
"Dude.." His voice came out hoarse. "Your eyes! What the hell?!"
"My eyes? What happened to my eyes?"
Axel looked around until he saw a glass window to one of the offices. He took a look at his eyes and it had a different colour. His eyes had golden shade and his pupil was a bright red colour.
'What th–'
"I don't know what this is but I'm out of here…" Kyle declared as he took his heels.
"Yeah…whatever you do, stay away from his girl."
Axel looked down at the other student who was still on the floor, still knocked down and he decided he didn't want to be here when the school authorities found him.
So he went back the way he came from and within minutes, he was back at the dorm. The hallway was dark but for some reason, Axel had no problem navigating his way through the darkness.
Axel had left around 7 p.m., and he was returning by 10 p.m., so he assumed that the others would be asleep by now but when he stepped inside his room, Ares wasn't sleeping yet.
"Where have you been? You know there's a curfew at 10 p.m. right? You're lucky you made it on time."
"Yeah I know, I was busy with something." Axel replied casually.
"Yo, what's up with your eyes? Ares asked, sitting up from his bed. Slowly, a smile appeared on his face.
"You awakened your ability?!" He gasped. "Now that's what I'm talking about. Come on, hit me." He said bracing himself for whatever he thought Axel had for him.
"Uh…yeah no, I can't really do anything yet." Axel revealed and a disappointed look tugged at Ares''s face.
"Well you're in luck, friend. Two days from now will day to bring forth your abilities."
"What's two days from now?" Axel asked with genuine curiosity.
"You haven't checked your schedule?" Our first class will be on abilities and how the work, we have a day off tomorrow, but the real thing begins after. I'm sure you and Ricky over here can make the most of it."
"Right…"
"By the way, fix your eyes. Those colors are terrifying. If I didn't know better, I'd say you were a demon." Ares chuckled, then his expression turned serious. "You're not a demon are you?" he asked, his voice low.
Axel chuckled nervously. "Are demons even real? It's fictional isn't it?"
Ares stared at him for a while, then he shrugged. "Well it doesn't matter, get some rest, for tomorrow is a good day."
Axel laid on his bed, staring at the ceiling. Finally after what felt like forever, he had leveled up and he must have gotten something already.
The system hadn't notified him of it yet, but he assumed it must have been because he was in shock earlier. Now his mind was clear, he pulled up the system's interface to his user menu to see what changes had been made…and it was a lot…

Apparently new information had been added to his profile, 'Sin Path' but it was locked. What the hell was a Sin Path?
That wasn't the only thing that changed, amongst his other tabs, there were two new tab added to the list.

Axel didn't know what those other two tabs were and why they were empty, however he proceeded to the Infernal ability tab.

"Infernal Slash." Axel whispered under his breath. "Sounds cool. Can't wait to use it."
Axel then decided to check his stats, and they also seemed to have increased and there was new stat info.

Looking at his new stat only made Axel get more impatient to try out his new skill. He glanced at Ares who was now fast asleep. Rick was also deep slumbered so that meant there was no one to ask about his whereabouts.
The Oval Academy had a strict curfew policy at 10 p.m., that meant that the gates would be locked by now, but locked gates and doors had never stopped Axel, had it?
Axel stood up from his bed, changed into something more fitting for the time and he walked out the door, closing it softly.
"Let's go see what this Infernal Slash can do…"
