Chapter 83 - Chapter 83: Taking Xiao Yixian Away

Liu Xi looked at Xiao Yixian's sorrowful expression, and a faint trace of pity rose within his heart.

A woman so kind by nature—one who saved lives and healed the wounded—yet cursed with the terrifying Woeful Poison Body. It was truly a cruel twist of fate.

He spoke softly. "Human hearts are fickle. When you were a weak healer, they adored you. But now that you can take their lives with a mere touch, fear has consumed them. And fear drives people to destroy what they cannot control."

Xiao Yixian gave a cold, bitter laugh. "So that's their excuse? To forget the lives I saved and try to kill me instead?"

Liu Xi had long grown accustomed to betrayal—especially in the Black-Corner Region. He merely sighed.

"Your Woeful Poison Body must have already begun its awakening. Otherwise, the toxins you release wouldn't be this potent."

Xiao Yixian hesitated for a moment, then nodded with difficulty. Since Liu Xi already knew her secret, there was no reason to hide it.

"Then you should also know," he continued quietly, "what your future will become."

Her eyes clouded with pain. A bitter smile twisted her pale face as she whispered, "I can't suppress the hunger inside me—the instinct to devour all poison. One day, it will devour me instead. I'll die screaming under the torment of Ten Thousand Poisons Devouring the Heart."

Though her tone was calm, her trembling fists betrayed her fear.

Liu Xi took a step closer, his eyes sharp. "So tell me—what will you do? Submit to that cursed fate… or defy it?"

The question struck deep. Xiao Yixian's red-rimmed eyes shimmered with tears as she snapped, her voice cracking, "Defy it? How?! Every Woeful Poison Body in history has met the same end—either hunted down or consumed by their own venom! There's never been an exception! What can I possibly do?"

In that moment, she looked no older than a lost child—fragile, heartbroken, and utterly helpless.

Liu Xi waited silently for her storm of emotion to pass. When her breathing finally steadied, he spoke again, voice low and resolute.

"There is a way. Long ago, a powerful alchemist sought to help a friend who bore the same curse. He devised a unique method—the creation of a Poison Pill capable of stabilizing the Woeful Poison Body."

Her head snapped up, a faint spark of hope flickering in her eyes. "You… you know this method?"

Liu Xi shook his head.

"I don't. But I know what's required to refine it."

He raised a hand, ticking each requirement off his fingers. "First, three types of Heavenly Flames. Second, the Monster Core of a 7th Rank Sky Poison Dragon Scorpion Beast. Third, the Bodhisattva Body Transformation Saliva."

As the words sank in, Xiao Yixian's hope dimmed. Heavenly Flames—few in the world had ever possessed even one, let alone three. And the other two ingredients… she had never even heard of them.

Liu Xi's voice rose, fierce and unwavering. "Now that you have the Direction, Let's find them! If a Dou Wang isn't enough, advance to Dou Huang! If that's still not enough, then reach Dou Zong! Even if you die trying—let it be without regret!"

Xiao Yixian stared at him, stunned. Since learning of her cursed body, her life had been one of despair. Yet now, in Liu Xi's words, she glimpsed a fragile sliver of hope.

Liu Xi extended his hand. A green flame bloomed in his palm—the Green Lotus Core Flame, its light dancing gently.

"I already possess one Heavenly Flame," he declared proudly. "And I know where the other two lie. Now, tell me your choice: will you surrender to fate… or defy it with me?"

He paused, his tone steady. "In return, I want you to lend me your strength—and pledge your loyalty to me."

For a long moment, silence filled the air. Then Xiao Yixian suddenly laughed, soft and sweet, her eyes curving like crescents. Crystal tears glittered faintly at their corners. "You want to adopt a Woeful Poison Body? Don't be so sure of yourself. You may be a mighty Dou Wang now, but someday I'll become a Poison Grandmaster. Aren't you afraid I might turn on you?"

Liu Xi chuckled. "I trust my instincts. You're not someone who repays kindness with betrayal. So… what's your choice?"

The girl's smile deepened, radiant and mischievous. Liu Xi's confidence—his faith in her—touched her more deeply than she cared to admit.

Her eyes sparkled as she tilted her head playfully.

"Then… should I start calling you Master?"

The soft, teasing voice of the beautiful young girl lingered in the air like silk.

Even Liu Xi, usually so composed, froze for a brief instant before clearing his throat awkwardly.

"Ahem… that won't be necessary. Just call me 'Young Master.'"

Seeing the rare flicker of embarrassment on his face, Xiao Yixian's eyes gleamed with mischief. An idea bloomed in her heart.

"Alright then, Master," she said sweetly.

"I said—call me Young Master!"

"No problem, Master!"

Liu Xi's lips twitched. The mischievous glint in her eyes was almost childlike. With a faint smile, he decided to teach her a quick lesson.

Snap!

"Ah—ow!"

Before she could react, Liu Xi flicked her forehead with lightning speed. The sharp pain made her yelp, both hands flying up to clutch her reddened forehead as she glared at him with misty eyes.

He, of course, had held back—just enough to sting, not to harm.

Unmoved by her pout, he said evenly, "That's the price for teasing your Young Master. Now, pack your things. We're leaving."

"Hmph!"

There was nothing left for her in Qingshan Town anyway. Determination replaced her sadness as she clenched her fists. 'Heaven may be cruel—but I, Xiao Yixian, will defy it!'

Moments later, Liu Xi watched as she fumbled with several large bundles of belongings. With a faint smile, he removed a storage ring from his hand and tossed it to her. "Use this instead. You know how it works, right?"

Her eyes lit up. She caught the ring excitedly. "Thank you, Young Master!"

Once everything was packed, she looked up at him again, a hint of concern in her voice. "What about Mr. Yao and all those mercenaries outside?"

Liu Xi waved his hand casually.

"They've bullied you long enough. If you're angry, I'll take care of them for you on the way out."

Xiao Yixian hesitated, then shook her head, her expression softening. "No need… they don't deserve death. Maybe just… teach them a painful lesson and make them pay for my losses instead!"

As she spoke, a playful grin crept across her face—a little devil's smile on an angelic visage.

Liu Xi couldn't help but laugh. He reached out and gently ruffled her hair. "Alright then. We'll make sure they pay a heavy price."
