Chapter 30: Fierce Battle with Sixshot
"Sixshot, aren't you talking too much nonsense? Who I am is none of your business! Keep standing in my way, and you'll regret it for life!"
Realizing he was about to be discovered, Starscream lost hope and drew his laser gun, opening fire on his opponent. Of course, he had disguised his machine gun to resemble Ultra Magnus' weapon; otherwise, Sixshot would have recognized him immediately.
Even with the disguise, the firepower surprised Sixshot. This wasn't an ordinary laser gun it was clearly a laser cannon mounted on a spacecraft.
"Bang, bang, bang! Bang, bang!"
Unable to take cover in time, Sixshot had to condense a protective shield with his energy. However, after taking three laser hits, the Decepticon's shield began to tremble, threatening to collapse at any moment.
"Who are you? I'll rip off your mask! Take this!"
Sixshot wasn't an ordinary Decepticon warrior. One of his transformations was into a laser gun, so when facing Starscream's powerful cannon, he transformed into his laser gun form to counterattack. Instantly, projectiles filled the area, creating the impression of a small-scale skirmish.
Although Starscream's firepower was slightly inferior, he was the legendary Decepticon Air Commander. If he couldn't win, dodging was always an option. As a Transformer, evading those attacks was easy. Meanwhile, Sixshot, seeing the agile "Ultra Magnus" in front of him, became increasingly confused. No matter how he compared, he couldn't match the Autobot form with suspects in his database.
Sixshot's system had detected Starscream; after all, the weapon system and missiles were occasionally similar to Starscream's standard loadout. But it was unrealistic to overlay Ultra Magnus' image onto Starscream they were significantly different in size.
Starscream didn't want to get entangled with Sixshot any longer. His transformation time had dropped to just over ten minutes; once the disguise disappeared, the entire Decepticon army would pursue him a fate he couldn't endure.
He hadn't expected that chasing the last 10% of the mission's progress would cause so many problems. Sixshot wasn't someone to be trifled with.
"Sixface, what grudge do you have against Ultra Magnus? Because this guy is too handsome and stole your girlfriend? I think Optimus Prime's girlfriend is quite pretty, isn't she?"
Perhaps trying to find a way to unmask him, Starscream began spouting nonsense. Sixshot, despite his infamous reputation, had always been a wanderer, with no record of any Decepticon female approaching him.
"Damn it, I'll unmask you! Sixface, transform again jet mode!"
Perhaps insulted, Sixshot flew into a rage. Seeing that his laser gun form was ineffective, he decided to take the initiative, transforming into a jet to close the distance.
But Starscream's transformation was also a jet. Thanks to the camouflage system, even in jet form, he resembled a flying car, and his speed wasn't lower than Sixshot's.
As the enemy jet completed its transformation, Starscream also completed his jet form and took the lead, launching off an abandoned satellite platform on the outskirts of Cybertron.
This escape route had been planned by Starscream from the start. The area was remote, with no stationed Decepticons, and rumored to have been abandoned due to a major accident causing severe electromagnetic disturbances. Entering this zone could damage Transformers' internal systems, but navigating it correctly allowed safe escape. With an opponent as formidable as Sixshot, fleeing without full force was impossible.
"Stop right there! How can you disguise yourself as Ultra Magnus? Are you a flying Autobot?"
What Sixshot saw was something he hadn't seen in hundreds of thousands of years: a seemingly normal truck spewing two flames from the back, moving at nearly twice the speed of sound through space. Who would believe it?
If the scene were a spacecraft or high-speed fighter jet, it would make sense. But the Transformers' camouflage system was impenetrable even for a Transformer of Sixshot's caliber. With no choice, he followed Starscream in jet form, plunging into the dark, indistinct zone ahead.
Having spent years on space missions, Sixshot didn't know Cybertron's terrain well, especially because the satellite's electromagnetic field had been abandoned an embarrassing oversight. Few knew the place, not even Autobots, let alone Decepticons. But Starscream, once an explorer and investigator, knew a secret passage there. Even after so long, uncertain if it still worked, he was determined to shake off the troublesome Sixshot.
"Sixshot, you're too curious! Neither of us can finish the other off why not retreat? Act as if you never saw me today. Why waste so much energy entangling yourself with me?"
"Ha, ha, you, impostor Ultra Magnus! Are you one of us Decepticons? I can't analyze your data yet, but I've memorized your instinct patterns. You can run to the ends of the world, and I'll catch you. I suggest conserving your energy and confessing; otherwise, once I find you, there's no escape!"
