"No."
Standing to the side with his hands in his pockets, Kiho replied in a steady tone, uncaring of whatever Lim Soohyun was doing. He couldn't kick him out without his car keys, so Lim Soohyun had no choice but to unlock the door again.
"Get your car keys. You'll be driving me to Seoul."
"You drive."
Not moving a muscle, Kiho stared into the distant ground covered in wild grass.
"My foot hurts. I won't be able to."
Lying through his teeth, Lim Soohyun even started walking weirdly as Kiho shifted his gaze to his foot, then walked back inside to grab a bottle of water only.
"What about your car keys?"
"They're still in the car."
"You left the keys in your car?"
Raising both his brows slightly, Lim Soohyun exclaimed. He didn't need to unlock the door after all, but luckily Kiho had agreed to drive him to Seoul, not knowing that he'd not be able to come back into this house again.
"I didn't think anyone would come to this deserted place expecting an unlocked car with its keys inside."
The car was indeed not locked. Lim Soohyun claimed the passenger seat even before Kiho got into the driver's seat. As soon as the car began to move, he picked out a playlist of heavy rock and turned up the volume until he felt his whole body vibrating from the sound waves. It lasted until Kiho took his car out of the parked space and back onto the road. He instantly lowered the volume. Lim Soohyun raised it again, and Kiho lowered it again.
One second of high volume and one second of low volume—for three hours later, they entered Seoul.
"Enough."
Fed up, Kiho completely turned off the music. Lim Soohyun slumped into his seat, glaring at him. It's fine—just a little more, and they would go their separate ways.
"Drop me off at this café in Gangnam."
Adding a new location into the GPS, he spoke, side-eyeing Kiho. Gauging his reaction, he really thought Kiho wouldn't follow him into the café, but then they both sat next to each other in the corner of the café on the first floor.
"I'm meeting the previous owner of the house. This is just a meeting between friends, if you will."
"Mr. Soohyun, I know you are going to go through with the séance anyway, so let me do it. I have never failed in the past. I have a hundred percent success rate."
"That's more concerning."
He muttered dejectedly, messaging Yunho, who was late to their meetup. At the same moment, the coaster buzzer on the table beeped to signal their order was ready. Kiho immediately strode off to get their drinks, leaving him alone at the table. Lim Soohyun leaned back in his chair, calling the person he was supposed to be meeting right now.
"....."
Yunho wasn't receiving the call. It just rang continually, and just then he saw a man appearing ruffled come up to the first floor. Their eyes met, and Lim Soohyun finally ended the call. He recognized Yunho even with his new hair color, but it took a while for him to find him, although there wasn't anyone else on the first floor besides him.
"Mr. Lim Soohyun?"
"Yeah."
Anyone who saw them would think they were meeting for the first time. Yunho exhaled softly as if he was out of breath, gliding the chair. He sat opposite him.
"I'm sorry for the wait. I'm usually always on time..."
Scratching the side of his neck awkwardly, Yunho laughed even more awkwardly.
"You look like an idol now. Why would you dye your hair silver?"
"Someone said it'd look good on me. I'm glad it suits me."
Yunho spoke as he fixed his hair using the reflection in the wall windows near their table. Lim Soohyun was so bored he was starting to lose any motivation to even speak, much less initiate a conversation. Glancing at the wall windows, he daydreamed of jumping out from here. Would the glass pierce his skin? He'd probably still survive with a few injuries or a broken bone.
"Iced Americano."
Daydreaming, he heard Kiho's voice, and his ordered drink was placed in front of him.
"Oh, thank you."
Yunho was also given a drink that was selected by Kiho. Both Kiho and Yunho's drinks didn't contain any caffeine. Lim Soohyun closed his eyes as he sipped on his coffee while Kiho and Yunho exchanged introductions.
"This could've been a call."
Mumbling incoherently, he tried focusing again.
"Mr. Soohyun, are you not feeling well?"
"Yunho, since you are here, let's just skip to the important part. So how haunted is that house? I didn't find that appealing, to be honest."
Not in the mood to converse, he simply didn't reply to Kiho's concern and began to ask Yunho what he wanted to know a long time ago. By now, he wasn't that interested.
"What kind of appeal do you need? That house is really haunted! I had multiple people come and tell me it's pure evil! Every time I had to go and check the house's condition, I was on the brink of crying!"
Yunho full-on enthusiastically and passionately began.
"I hadn't even dared to stay there by myself. Every year I'd renovate it and keep it in good condition so I can sell it and be free..."
Finishing his words a bit regretfully, he extended his hand towards him.
"Well, no matter. Thank you for buying the house, Mr. Lim Soohyun. There aren't any refunds, so I hope you find its appeal soon."
Lim Soohyun shook Yunho's hand with dead eyes.
"The people you said have come and told you it's pure evil—could I know more about them?"
Kiho asked as Yunho settled in his seat once again.
