"Uh...Some of them were people famous for their abilities to see ghosts, and there were also a few workers who refused to work in the house. It wasn't easy to convince them to complete the renovations, even after offering them double the pay."
Lim Soohyun couldn't understand what they were so afraid of. The only time something did happen was when he messed around following the gashapon quests. Besides that, nothing more happened that made him want to keep the house. Once these quests were over and the house failed to prove its worth, he'd have to sell it too.
"Kiho is also a medium. He can see ghosts. He told me before that the chair you're sitting in...there was a ghost sitting there."
Yunho's face visibly paled, his expression hardening as he listened to his words. Lim Soohyun smiled and quickly waved his hand.
"I'm kidding. There isn't anything here."
"Rest easy, Mr. Yunho. Ghosts aren't that easy to find in populated areas."
Kiho reassured Yunho. Only then did he take a gulp of his drink, regaining his vitality somewhat. Lim Soohyun was entertained by the reaction for a split second, but he also didn't want to scare off Yunho. Using others' weaknesses for his momentary amusement was something he had stopped himself from doing when he was a teen. Despite being mentally disturbed and willing to do anything for the sake of his interest, he knew his wrongs and rights—what limits he shouldn't cross. One he strictly believed was that no matter what, he shouldn't drag innocent people into any of his stunts.
He'd watch a fight break out between other people if he found it entertaining, but he'd never be the one to hit another. It worked out that way somehow. That's why he needed Kiho to go his own way. These quests could be more dangerous than that haunted house or a mere séance. Kiho, unaware of this fact, might want to partake in the séance, but his life could be endangered just for his measly distraction.
"Yes, it is a woman spirit. My grandparents even mentioned seeing a woman in the basement often times. Hearing their stories, everyone was scared out of their minds. They immediately tried to sell the house. Years passed with not one person came to even see the house, and as the youngest of the family, it was entrusted to me."
Yunho sighed, lamenting his fate. Kiho nodded as he listened, his eyes switching from Yunho to Lim Soohyun occasionally.
"Is there a purpose behind you buying the house, Mr. Soohyun? You said it was urgent and didn't give me any details, but seeing how you even brought a medium to tag along, there must be something going on, right?"
Quick to catch on, Yunho spoke as if he had hit the dart right on the mark. Lim Soohyun, about to open his mouth for a reply, caught a set of identical twins coming to their table. His curiosity peaked. Following his gaze, Yunho also turned around to see what he was staring at and flinched as he saw the twins walking up to him. They seemed to be Yunho's acquaintances.
"Yunho Hyung...found you."
Putting his hands onto Yunho's shoulders from behind, one of the twins stood there as he spoke. The other twin looked over to him and Kiho with a discerning gaze. Yunho smiled uneasily, trying to get the hands off his shoulders as the other twin locked eyes with Lim Soohyun and asked.
"Hyung, who are these people? Your friends?"
"You're still in school, aren't you, kid? Where are your manners? Not only did you both disturb us, but you didn't even introduce yourselves."
Lim Soohyun spoke in an unserious tone, appearing serious. The twins had no reaction, but Yunho instantly became anxious.
"Mr. Soohyun, I apologize on their behalf. They're not the brightest stars. They're my father's friend's sons. I'm currently watching over them for the time being..."
He laughed awkwardly, ending his explanation. The one on his shoulders resolutely followed after Yunho, introducing himself first.
"I'm Heo Minsoo, and this is my twin brother Heo Minchan. We are in the last year of our high school... uncle."
Uncle?
Lim Soohyun was slightly bemused by the word. He never felt sad about getting old since it meant one less year of him trying to survive his boredom, but being called an uncle definitely had an impact he couldn't entirely ignore.
"You are kids. He guessed right. Learn to respect your elders."
Kiho assisted him from the side, speaking in his deep voice with a piercing gaze. The twin brothers didn't speak for a while, appearing to be intimidated by Kiho.
"I'll try to teach them. Sorry, Kiho."
Yunho apologized again in their stead. At that sight, something clicked in them, and they both started dragging him.
"Yunho Hyung, I have to buy clothes. The mall will close if you don't hurry up now."
"You also promised to watch that movie with us on Sunday."
"Huh? Did I? Haha..."
Throwing the obvious excuses, they successfully made Yunho stand from his chair. Minsoo grabbed Yunho's drink, sipping on it as if it were his to begin with, while Minchan urged to go.
"Uh...it was nice meeting you, Mr. Soohyun, and Kiho, you too. I'll have to leave now. I'll pay as compensation. I'm truly sorry."
Yunho apologized for the last time before the twin brothers each linked their arms with Yunho's arms, taking him away like a prisoner.
"Wow."
The situation was certainly a bit chucklesome, but Yunho appeared pitiful too. Being the youngest certainly wasn't an easy thing. You might even end up taking care of your father's friend's teen twin sons.
"You've become quieter."
Lim Soohyun, who hadn't said anything in the past ten minutes, tilted his head, meeting Kiho's dark eyes. Kiho stared back, expecting a reply. Lim Soohyun wasn't going to, though.
