Qianye knew that being able to persist until now was already the very limit of his chakra and stamina.
So when that final, unrestrained shout faded, Qianye did not hesitate even for a heartbeat and stepped forward with deliberate pace.
"Huh?"
Gabriel an experienced puppet user trained in the same style as Sunagakure's puppet brigade quickly noticed Qianye's sudden movement.
At that moment, a large section of Gabriel's puppet army shifted formation, splitting apart and immediately surging toward Qianye like the coordinated assault lines used by Chiyo's forces during the previous war.
And yet
In the face of that rushing tide of puppets, Qianye remained indifferent. He simply slipped several marked kunai from his weapon pouch identical to the special tri-pronged kunai used by the Fourth Hokage and hurled them without hesitation.
The kunai whistled past the puppet ranks, slicing through the forest of chakra threads, and shot straight toward Gabriel…
But in the end, Gabriel twisted his body aside and avoided them with ease.
Kunai were indeed long-range weapons.
But if the distance between two shinobi was too great,
Then landing a hit was nearly impossible!
Gabriel sneered that the little brat was still only a brat reckless, inexperienced, and naïve!
However, in the very next instant, Gabriel's expression abruptly froze.
The brat… Why was he gone?
He had been watching him the whole time how could he simply vanish?
The next moment
Gabriel's instincts screamed.
He spun around sharply.
And immediately, the sole of a sandal etched with a small Flying Thunder God formula rapidly expanded in his vision…
Then
BOOM!!
Gabriel's body flew in a perfect arc and crashed hard into the sand, sending up a cloud just like the aftermath of Minato Namikaze's battlefield ambushes.
The heavy impact snapped the chakra threads on his fingers, and the puppets around him collapsed lifelessly to the ground.
Flat on his back, staring blankly at the sky above the desert, Gabriel felt the shock thundering in his chest, refusing to settle.
Just now how had that kid passed through an entire puppet battalion and silently appeared behind him?
Instantaneous movement?
No.
It was time-space ninjutsu!
And not just any this particular distortion of space gave him an unmistakably familiar feeling, one that clawed up from his memories like a long-buried nightmare…
He suddenly remembered.
It was during the Third Shinobi War he had once encountered a yellow-haired Konoha Jonin on the battlefield…
Neither had spoken. They simply clashed for a single heartbeat.
And before he could even process the movement, that man had appeared behind him and struck the back of his neck with a chakra-charged palm, knocking him unconscious instantly…
It was the first time he had witnessed the terror of true space-time ninjutsu—
The Flying Thunder God Technique.
The memory left a deep scar in his mind.
He had once believed that after the death of Minato Namikaze, the Yellow Flash, the Flying Thunder God Technique would vanish from the shinobi world forever…
But he never imagined
Now this technique had actually resurfaced in the hands of a little ghost?!!!
Was Konoha about to produce a second Yellow Flash?
This was absolutely terrible news for the other shinobi villages….
After a long while,
Gabriel forced himself up from the ground.
Qianye's kick had blown aside the hooded cloak over his head, exposing his true appearance at this moment.
A pale, corpse-white, hollowed-out face that looked anything but healthy,
Hair thinned to almost nothing, only a few desolate strands remaining.
"That technique just now is the Flying Thunder God."
"In the past, when I faced that jutsu, I didn't even have the slightest room to resist."
"I didn't expect that after all these years, I'd encounter it again like this."
Gabriel let out a self-mocking sigh.
"So, now you should be able to talk properly."
Qianye said lightly.
Gabriel gave a reluctant, bitter smile and nodded.
As someone thoroughly defeated, he no longer had any choice.
...
After listening carefully to Qianye's intentions,
Gabriel's gaze toward him became inexplicably complicated.
Building another shinobi academy inside the Uchiha clan?
No matter how one looked at it this was not normal!!
He had long heard rumors that the Uchiha clan and Konoha's higher-ups were constantly at odds.
He had once assumed it was mere gossip.
But now it appeared to be true.
Furthermore—
Qianye intended to bring renegades like them back to serve as instructors, teaching children of the clan real combat techniques.
What was this meant to accomplish?
Preparing for a future conflict?
Had the Uchiha clan already reached the point where coexistence with Konoha's leadership was impossible?
Yet regardless
None of this had anything to do with him personally.
Besides, agreeing to go to Konoha as a teacher wasn't without benefits for him.
At the very least
He wouldn't have to keep worrying about being hunted down by Sunagakure's Anbu puppeteer squads….
After Gabriel sealed away all the scattered puppets into his storage scrolls, Qianye prepared to set off for their next destination.
"Um… if Mr. Zabuza's old injuries are acting up again, maybe we should rest for the night first."
Haku stepped forward and said softly.
It was worth mentioning he pursed his lips nervously as he spoke, obviously frightened.
It wasn't so much a suggestion as it was a humble plea for Qianye's approval.
Qianye turned to look at Zabuza.
He noted that several spots on Zabuza's body were oozing blood.
Judging from it, he must have strained his old wound during the fight with Gabriel earlier.
"Haku, you talk too much!"
Having old injuries flare up was humiliating for Zabuza, so he barked at Haku with a dark expression.
"It's already getting dark anyway," he muttered.
"And the next location is still very far from here," he added.
"So fine let's just find a place nearby to rest tonight."
Qianye said.
But he wasn't accustomed to sleeping out in the open.
So after a moment of thought, he placed his palm on the ground.
"Wood Release: Four-Pillar House Technique!!"
Trees burst from the soil, twisting and merging, gradually forming an expansive wooden house with an intricately crafted structure…
"Wow~"
Seeing the elegant wooden lodge before him, Haku couldn't help but light up with excitement.
Being able to stay in such a comfortable house while traveling in the wild was simply too luxurious~
"Let's go inside."
After Qianye finished speaking, he stepped in first….
