Chapter 32 - Chapter 32: “Knock”

How strong is the Holy Lord relying on flesh alone?

Su Tang didn't have a clear concept. He could only compare vaguely: even Jackie Chan with the Ox Talisman was a shade weaker in strength than the Holy Lord.

So even without the Ox Talisman, the Holy Lord's remaining power couldn't be taken lightly.

BANG—!

The sound of bodies colliding exploded in midair, as if a giant inflated ball fell from a fifty-meter-tall building.

The devil's long, sausage-like head—ringed in rolls of fat—was blasted back, stretched a full ninety degrees like a rubber band.

The huge impact cut across the sky; billboards hanging on surrounding buildings swayed and shook.

Borrowing the reaction force, Su Tang flipped back and landed, rolling his neck.

Woo—That's Awesome!

That punch felt so good!

The other side didn't dodge at all— it ate his punch with its face.

Judging by the feedback just now, Su Tang estimated inwardly: with half the Holy Lord's sealed physique inherited, his raw strength alone was about two-thirds of the Ox Talisman's power?

If you counted the entire body— constitution, speed, reflexes all included— he could probably fight that Zombie Devil from that night to a draw with just flesh.

And that one had swallowed 0.06 kg of Gun fragments!

At least so far, none of the devils he'd met matched that night's Zombie Devil. Including this nearly eight-meter behemoth before him— probably a tier below.

And this was only flesh. Once the Tiger Talisman was inlaid on the statue today, he could transform half-dragon and use fire-qi at the same time— his strength should tick up another level.

And in the future he might even find the Ox Talisman, the Dragon Talisman…

All told— the present is fine; the future, promising.

Su Tang was satisfied.

"Human—!!" The devil seemed to have just recovered. It raised its head from behind its body, furious: "You killed Bat! You killed my man! We were supposed to travel together, feast together on flesh and blood…"

Eh.

Su Tang's blood-red eyes looked the devil over carefully. With all due respect, if not for the voice leaning female, he really couldn't tell it was a she.

Oh… those drooping blackish things on both sides of the "head"— hair?

He glanced and looked away without digging in.

With his now-enhanced eyesight, even separated by nearly ten meters, he could see each pore clear as day— not exactly a blessing.

Without the fire-qi upkeeping his brain, seeing this was a bit nauseating.

Of course, fire-qi ascending also lowered his rationality— in fights he'd often do chuunibyou things like shouting move names. But not now.

"Human! You look a bit handsome. If you come to my Leech Devil, I might consider sparing your life— how about it?"

The devil spewed madness as ever.

Su Tang forced down the churn in his gut, tensed his legs, and shot out in an instant!

First second, step onto the Leech Devil's right foot.

Second second, dash along to the Leech Devil's neck.

Third second— lift, draw, punch!

"Ah-ha! Eat my Rising Dragon Fist!"

The Leech Devil's sausage head was uppercut and pitched high; the black hair flopped wildly, and a few white teeth knocked loose clattered onto the crack-webbed ground.

Su Tang looked back with a strange face.

That line wasn't his— hot-blooded battle anime were far behind him. But he'd forgotten there was still Denji-ko.

Denji-ko was holding Meowy high (Meowy: ?). Seeing the Leech Devil knocked down, she waved the cage excitedly as if it had been her punch. "Mr. Su Tang! Do a Meteor Fist next! Do a flying kick! Or some finisher!"

This kid… been playing King of Fighters at the arcade?

Su Tang's long tongue slipped out; he sighed inwardly.

"Aaaaaah! Human, I'll kill you!"

Missing a few teeth, the Leech Devil spoke with a whistle. Furious, it climbed up— and looked up into a sandbag-sized green fist.

Meteor Fist…

Su Tang thought for a second, then suddenly sped up both fists!

"Ratatatatata—!"

His fists were like a machine gun, precise and rapid, hammering the Leech Devil's head with an unending stream of dark-cyan afterimages.

The skin's protection was finally beaten through; purple gobbets of flesh kept splattering outward.

Watching this, Denji-ko raised Meowy's cage with one hand, jumped up, and shouted, "Mr. Su Tang! Give it a… Giant Dragon Herculean Punch! Finish it in one blow!"

Giant Dragon Herculean Punch, what the heck…

Still, he'd vented enough. Time to end it.

Su Tang glanced at the Leech Devil, whose mind was already fogged—unable to string together a full sentence—and abruptly stopped punching.

Then he drew a deep breath.

Power rose from his waist and abdomen, coursing up into his thick arms.

His right hand pulled back; the ripping creak of tensed muscle was clearly audible.

He was a war bow drawn to a full moon.

The limit—and then release!

"Giant Dragon Her—"

BANG—!!

A driving straight punch!

The Leech Devil's head burst like a watermelon, blown apart by his fist.

Purple blood and meat fell like rain.

Su Tang recoiled in distaste, returned to human shape, and slapped the clinging bits off his clothes.

He'd never managed to shout the name of that move—far too embarrassing, as expected.

He let out a light breath. The pent-up gloom from his clinic's sudden misfortune had vanished.

Indeed, venting is the best way to handle psychological stress. Whether it's running, drinking water, having a good cry, hitting the bag, or sleeping—it's all ways of venting and tuning your mood; bottle it up and problems pile up easily.

"Mr. Su Tang."

Denji-ko trotted over, face flushed apple-red from excitement.

"Mm." He nodded to her, then looked, a little pained, at the mess all over the ground.

It had felt great—now it was everywhere.

He could only hope Public Safety would handle it.

Just then, Su Tang heard a soft "knock."

He looked up, sensing something.

A giant fox head appeared from nowhere and, in an instant, swallowed the Leech Devil's corpse.

"This one's already dead. Can I swallow it, Aki Hayakawa?"

Its mouth didn't move, but the voice came out of thin air.

"You can."

A familiar voice to Su Tang answered. Then the giant fox head turned to smoke, taking the blood and gore with it as it dissipated.
