One Kick Girl — Chapter 76
"The Audition of the Galaxy (Raon Accidentally Applies)"
Raon POV — Shion internal screaming — Dome delusion levels high
---
1. Things Earth Shouldn't Hear
At 3:14 AM, Raon woke to the sound of the universe calling her by name.
It didn't sound like music. It didn't sound like words.
It was a beat.
Boom —
pause —
Boom-boom-boom —
Like a heartbeat trying to do breakdance.
She blinked into her pillow.
"…Shion?"
Silence.
"…Shion??"
Shion was standing in the doorway.
She was holding a frying pan. For defense.
Her eyes were hollow.
"It's back."
Raon sat up.
"What is?"
Shion pointed up.
"Your disco god."
---
2. The Sky is a Nightclub
They stepped outside.
Above the city, Thera-Sol pulsed in low orbit — now the size of a football stadium.
It spun slowly, trailing mirrored fragments like glittering comet tails.
A ring of neon text circled it:
> AUDITION INITIATED.
Raon frowned.
"What does that mean?"
Shion held the frying pan tighter.
"It means someone in the cosmos is stupid enough to listen to you."
Raon puffed her cheeks.
"I didn't do anything!"
A notification pinged on her wristband.
Thera-Sol → One Kick Girl
> PLEASE PREPARE.
JUDGES ARRIVING.
Raon screamed.
---
3. Contact from the Stars (Unfortunately)
The air rippled.
A portal peeled itself open like someone unzipped reality.
Three shapes descended.
They were tall, angular, luminescent — like mannequins made of dark crystal and nightclub lighting.
Each wore a different mask:
One shaped like a bass speaker
One like a vinyl record
And one like a metronome
They landed on the rooftop.
The vinyl-headed one spoke in vibrating syllables:
> YOU ARE THE RESONANCE. PREPARE TALENT.
Raon pointed at herself.
"Me?? I don't have talent! I only kick things!"
Shion put a hand on her shoulder.
"That's the problem. The galaxy thinks that is talent."
---
4. Maestro Dome Ruins Today
A spotlight fell from SPACE.
Maestro Dome materialized in a slow elevator of light, arms spread, sunglasses glowing.
"My time has come."
Shion immediately strangled him with her free hand.
"HOW DID YOU GET HERE?!"
Dome smiled.
"Thera-Sol paid for express teleportation."
Raon blinked.
"…with what currency?!"
Dome murmured: "Vibes."
Shion almost threw him off the building.
---
5. The Judges' Introduction
Speaker-head turned to Raon.
> CONTESTANTS MUST PRESENT THEIR SIGNATURE ABILITY.
WINNER DESCENDS TO PRIMARY RAVE.
LOSERS ARE CONSUMED.
Raon raised a hand.
"Consumed like… socially or physically?"
Vinyl tilted its head.
> YES.
Shion whispered: "We're going to die."
---
6. The Crowd Arrives
The rooftop filled with silhouettes — drawn to the sky like moths to a glowstick.
Some wore disco shards in their hair. Some had sunglasses that pulsed with music. Some just held snacks.
They were chanting:
"ONE KICK! ONE KICK!"
Raon blushed.
Shion leaned in.
"You don't get to be proud of that."
---
7. The First Challenger
A shimmering figure stepped forward — prismatic, athletic, glowing with a thousand small lights.
They bowed.
> I AM CYBER SHUFFLER PRIME.
I BRING DANCE.
They began to move.
Not dancing.
Ascension.
Feet tracing glowing sigils on the rooftop, each step fracturing the air into geometric ribbons.
Shion gasped.
"That is… actually beautiful."
Raon stared dumbly.
"…looks exhausting."
The judges murmured approvingly.
---
8. The Second Challenger
A tall alien with drum-cannons on its arms stepped up.
> DRUMSPAWN 7.
WE BATTLE THE BEAT.
It raised its arms.
The cannons fired pure percussion.
Every boom reshaped the rooftop, sending shockwaves rippling through the clouds.
Dome teared up.
"Such power… such rhythm…"
Shion whispered to Raon:
"If you kick any of these people, Earth will be glass."
Raon winced.
"My legs are itchy."
---
9. Raon's Turn (No One Asked)
The metronome judge pointed at her.
> KICK GIRL. PERFORM.
Raon gulped.
She stepped forward.
The sky darkened. Crowd silent.
Her mind blanked.
"I don't… I don't have choreography or—"
Shion grabbed her face.
"No thinking.
You are a force of nature.
Just be who you always are."
Raon blinked.
"…an idiot?"
Shion kissed her forehead.
"Yes. Kick something."
---
10. Raon vs Gravity
Raon inhaled.
Leg coiled.
A single kick exploded upward — not at Thera-Sol, not at the challengers,
but straight into the moonlight.
The shockwave cracked the night sky like a mirror.
Light bent. Stars hiccuped. Thera-Sol convulsed.
The rooftop trembled.
Cyber Shuffler staggered and fell. Drumspawn 7's cannons exploded in reverb.
Raon landed, wobbling.
"I… did I win?"
The judges spoke in unison:
> THE KICK TRANSCENDS.
PHASE THREE APPROVED.
Shion's soul left her body.
Raon pumped her fist.
"I'm a finalist!"
Shion collapsed onto the rooftop.
---
11. Phase Three Declaration
Thera-Sol pulsed like a dying star.
New text formed in the sky:
> GALACTIC INVITATION SENT.
RAVE-WAR CHAMPIONS APPROACH.
Raon blinked.
"…what is a rave-war?"
Dome gasped reverently.
"It is how galaxies negotiate."
Shion crawled toward Raon, hands trembling, voice broken:
"Stop. Kicking. Things."
Raon rubbed the back of her neck.
"…I don't think that's an option anymore."
