Silva was absolutely pissed. 'These fucking animals. I couldn't care less about them openly groping that woman but do they have to stop to do it. I would have been miles ahead if I moved alone.' There was a suppressed moan that, in the current silent atmosphere, sounded extremely loud. 'FUUUUUUUCCCCKKKKKK!!!!!! I've had enough! I can't take it anymore!'
Silva suddenly broke into sprint, leaving the road they were walking on to run through a corn field. The group behind him was shocked but they soon followed him. The woman was easily carried on the shoulder of one of the men. Silva could sense Henry catching up to him quite easily. He wanted to attack him but decided to ignore Henry's presence.
"Hey Silva! Why did you suddenly run? Did you see a monster? " Henry called out from behind.
"I didn't see a monster, I just decided to speed up to reach the safe zone sooner. Plus, you guys fucking disgust me. So just leave me alone. " Silva answered as he sped up. Eventually, Henry let up the chase leaving Silva to continue alone. Henry waited for his party while staring in the direction Silva ran in.
"Did you lose him? " One of the men asked as they stopped near him.
"Shut up and hand over the bitch. I got some stress to release." As he said that, Henry's right arm stretched out to almost three meters. His hand grew larger and completely covered the woman's head. The woman struggled as Henry lifted her by her head and walked deeper into the cornfield. Soon painful screams came from the woman as she begged for her life.
"Man, Henry is gonna kill her one day and then we won't have anymore fun." One of the man said to the other.
"Anyway, who's turn was it to take care of her after he's done? " The other asked.
"It's gotta be you, I took care of her twice in a row because you were injured."
"I never asked you to do that so it doesn't count." The two kept arguing just to distract themselves from the woman's screams that continuously got louder. Silva had already left the cornfield but even he could hear the screams from where he was. His morals demanded that he go back and save her but he couldn't afford the luxury of morals when the world had no laws.
"So he didn't come back to save her? " Henry said as he joined the two men, his hands stained with blood. "That guy is either a coward or heartless bastard. Either way he's someone who will do anything to survive. If we meet him in the safe zone, ignore him. People like that tend to be nothing but trouble."
Silva himself was smirking coldly as he ran. 'It seems those guys won't survive. I didn't expect to meet a creature from Murim out here.' The reason for this was because his domain alerted him to a certain presence nearby. He was in an open area but his eyes couldn't see anything even though his domain told him that something was in front of him.
Frisbee struck at the invisible creature but instead got deflected upward. In that moment when Frisbee clashed with the creature the invisibility was temporarily undone. Before him stood a humanoid monster with carapace for skin and saw like claws hands. Large bug eyes took up most of it's face and the rest was taken by its mouth. Behind it was a long scorpion tail with a lance like needle at the tip.
Silva knew this creature. Any player that spent their time in Murim knew about it and it's habits. Without hesitation, Silva summoned Frisbee into his hand and took a knee. He bowed his head and stretched his hand out as though offering Frisbee to the monster. The monster then approached him and stared at Frisbee for a few seconds then vanished.
Silva stayed in the same position for a moment, breathed a sigh of relief and kept moving. The creature he met was called the Righteous Assassin back in Murim. They existed at many stages of strength but they shared one common characteristic, they can't attack an opponent that has surrendered. The bowing and offering up their weapon was the only form of surrender that species acknowledge.
'Good thing it didn't see me as a worthy opponent, that would have been horrible.' Silva clearly remembered how many times these creatures had killed him in the game. The problem with surrendering was that sometimes they would refuse it if you're strong enough. Since this guy is here there must be a portal to Murim somewhere nearby.
'I've noticed that the monsters don't often stray far from the portal. I really miss Murim but I can't go there. I have a higher chance of winning a fight against the monster spider back in the city than surviving a week in Murim.' Silva thought to himself as he rushed to the safe zone. He was even more careful now since he knew just how dangerous Murim monsters tend to be.
Silva ran all day while killing all monster along the way. The one thing he was thankful for was that his domain had developed to be really good at detecting living creatures. Silva would have died multiple times over, even though he knew the monsters of Murim like the back of his hand. The biggest problem was that he was meeting some creatures that would normally hate being in such an environment.
'There are a lot of bug type Gu which should mean that the Murim side of the portal is a Gu den. I initially planned to check out the portal in a few months after getting stronger but I won't risk it. Gu dens are dangerous because Gu have all sorts of abilities and tend to move in swarms when protecting the den. I hope the safe zone has a way of keeping them out.' Silva could tell that he was getting close to the safe zone.
The system map which was more like a sensation was alerting him that he was close to his destination. There was also the fact that the land in front of him was unnaturally flattened and covered entirely by short grass. In the middle of the open area was a three story tower made entirely of black blocks.
From where he stood, Silva could see a few small groups sitting on the ground. While a single large group armed with guns and dressed in full combat gear surrounded the tower. Even from here, Silva could tell that everyone was tense. 'I guess the military is taking charge of the safe zone. This definitely won't end well since there are no laws. Plus, there exist abilities that make guns entirely useless. Unless they have an ability user among them, the fragile peace won't last. '
Even though he knew this, Silva still walked ahead to join the safe zone. He was close to reaching it when he sensed a creature moving beneath the ground. 'Based on the shape and movement this must be a Petrifying Gu Worm. But the size, have they always been this big or is this one just unique. '
Silva didn't dwell on it much longer as Frisbee appeared underground, silently killing the monster. Silva himself walked as though nothing had happened. He crossed the invisible barrier that was cast by the tower and immediately sat on the ground away from everyone else. He could feel multiple gazes scanning him but he completely ignored them.
Silva felt one of the soldiers approaching but still acted as though he hadn't noticed. He could see a pair of dirty combat boots stopping in front of him but he didn't look up. Even when the soldier cleared his throat to gain his attention, he didn't react.
"Hey kid, you've entered a safe zone where monsters can't attack so listen up, we've got rules here and those who don't listen are kicked out. First rule is that our words are law. If we tell you to dance, you dance. Second, there's no violence allowed so hand over any weapons you have." After saying that, the soldier stretched his hand out. Silva looked at the hand, stood up and left the barrier.
The soldier looked at him with barely hidden annoyance. He watched as Silva layed on the grass a few meters outside of the barrier. "Remember this kid, since you don't want to join us then we don't want you here. If you enter the safe zone, we'll shoot you. This is your last chance to come back and fall in line. "
The soldier's warning fell on deaf ears as Silva took some biscuits out of his inventory and ate them in peace. 'That makes it four.' Silva had been outside for a few hours and three Gu worms had tried to attack him. He killed them while they were underground so nobody noticed anything. 'It's getting dark soon, I should leave the area before midnight since the safe zone will shut down for an hour to recharge. When that happens, the monsters will go into a frenzy.'
