As the training room and medical room were fully prepared, everyone focused their attention on Linen.
Entering the training room and looking at Pietro—who was filled with anticipation and excitement—Linen said,
"I'm not sure whether I'll be able to awaken the extraordinary power in your body, so Pietro, you need to be mentally prepared."
"It's fine, Linen. Just go ahead!"
Hearing this, Pietro shrugged and glanced at Wanda, who was standing outside the training room behind the transparent glass.
Pietro didn't want extraordinary powers just because they were cool.
He wanted them because, if he had powers, he could protect Wanda better.
In his heart, Wanda was now his only family. Even if it meant risking his life, he would protect her.
Perhaps sensing Pietro's determination, Wanda clenched her fists tightly outside the reinforced glass.
Although she hadn't seen what happened to Pietro in the theater herself, Pietro had never appeared again in the Ultron footage—and that alone explained everything.
Wanda would never allow such a thing to happen again.
She would never allow Pietro to be hurt.
When she saw Linen raise his hand and a golden light envelop Pietro, Wanda's heart instantly tightened. Her beautiful eyes were filled with worry, afraid that something unexpected might happen.
"Huh? What's going on?"
Clint Barton, who had just returned from a mission, walked into the area outside the training room and asked curiously.
Seeing the entire training room wrapped in dazzling golden light, Clint immediately asked what was happening.
Facing Barton's curiosity, Natasha briefly explained the situation.
When Clint heard that Linen might be able to awaken Pietro's superpowers, his interest was immediately piqued.
"Can you ask Linen to check whether I have any dormant superpowers too?"
"Haha."
Tony Stark burst out laughing.
Steve Rogers watched the scene inside the training room and said seriously,
"It's a good thing if Pietro awakens his powers. After all, we don't know when Loki will lead the Chitauri to invade Earth."
"The stronger Earth's defenses are, the smaller our losses will be."
"Huh?"
Hearing Steve's words, Bruce Banner and Clint Barton both looked at him in surprise.
"Captain, are you saying Loki will lead the Chitauri to invade Earth in the future? How do you know that?"
Seeing that everyone else looked calm, Clint and Banner exchanged confused glances.
Why did everyone seem to know except the two of them?
"That's right."
Looking at the puzzled Hawkeye and Dr. Banner, Tony Stark shrugged and said,
"Not only will Loki lead the Chitauri to invade Earth, the battlefield will be New York, and he'll even use the rooftop of Stark Tower as the key point to open the wormhole."
"And our Captain Rogers here thinks the Stark Tower is big and ugly."
Hearing the indignation in Tony's tone, Steve shook his head helplessly.
"Tony…"
"Isn't that the truth?" Tony asked.
"Wait."
Seeing the two start bickering again, Clint hurriedly interrupted.
"What's going on? Why do all of you know Loki will invade Earth?"
"It feels like only Dr. Banner and I are left in the dark. Damn it—why do I suddenly feel excluded?"
Hearing this, Natasha smiled and explained,
"It's not just you and Dr. Banner. Linen and Pietro inside the training room don't know about this either."
"Clint, I can't tell you how we know—but maybe in the near future, you'll find out as well."
"Tsk…"
Clint shook his head, then looked at Banner.
"I think the four of us are the ones being excluded. Maybe we should team up with Linen and form a new group."
"What do you think about calling it Hawkeye?"
Hearing the joke, Dr. Banner shrugged.
"Better call it Hulk."
After being with the Avengers for so long—and fighting HYDRA, arms dealers, and various criminal organizations together—Banner had gradually relaxed and fully integrated into the team.
So joking around like this was only natural.
Suddenly—
Bang!
A loud explosion echoed from inside the training room.
Hearing the sound, everyone instinctively turned toward the room.
Wanda's eyes instantly filled with panic.
As the golden light of the Ego Gem faded, only Linen remained standing inside.
Pietro was nowhere to be seen.
"Oh my God…"
Wanda rushed forward, about to open the door and run in—when another loud bang rang out.
The next second, Pietro appeared beside the padded wall, rubbing his arm.
"Just now, everything around me suddenly felt like it slowed down," Pietro said innocently.
"So I subconsciously moved—but I didn't expect to slam straight into the wall."
"Luckily Natasha added several layers of padding. Otherwise, my arm would probably be broken."
As Pietro spoke, strange cracking sounds suddenly came from the wall he had hit.
Everyone looked over and saw deep cracks spreading across the surface.
Pietro's eyes widened instantly.
"I only hit it twice… and I broke the wall?"
"The ability you awakened should be related to speed," Linen said calmly.
"But we'll need professional testing to confirm the specifics."
As he spoke, the door to the training room opened and Wanda rushed in.
After carefully checking Pietro and confirming he wasn't injured, she said happily,
"Pietro, have your powers awakened too?"
"Yes!"
Pietro looked at Wanda with excitement and said proudly,
"I have superpowers now too."
"Linen thinks it might be super speed. That way, if you're ever in danger, I'll be the first one there to protect you."
"Hey!"
Wanda smiled brightly, then added,
"Don't forget—I'm still your older sister."
She then walked over to Linen.
"Thank you, dear."
Linen took her hand and gently kissed the back of it, while Steve and Natasha smiled knowingly from the side.
Then Linen said,
"Let's have them start testing Pietro's abilities properly first."
