Chapter 135 - Chapter 135 - Esmelrada's Death.

Mitra glided through the air with supernatural elegance and grace. The emerald water didn't even come near her before being evaporated by the heat emanating from the creature made of flames and flesh. Cadmus looked at the ships in silence and focused his gaze on the ship that had a shield of darkness.

There was a small ship, far off, heading toward the five tornadoes, but Cadmus's attention was captured by the ship that still had people moving. A black shield enveloped the vessel, showing that a mage was on the warship.

Grabbing the collar of Ciri's shirt, Cadmus smiled at the girl and, under her shocked eyes, he simply jumped from the gigantic bird and pulled her with him!!!

"AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" Instinctively, Ciri began to scream. No person wouldn't scream in that situation, especially in the middle of such a large and dangerous storm. "TEACHERRRRRRR!!!!!!!"

Cadmus began to laugh as he plummeted from a great height. The wind whipped his hair strongly, while dark green eyes glowed in the darkness. Mitra transformed into a small bird and landed elegantly on Ciri's shoulder.

Mitra, seeing the girl's fear as she fell, gently rubbed her face against the girl's cheek. The warm and comforting aura began to affect Ciri, making her calmer, and after a while of still screaming, she stopped and narrowed her eyes, trying to see something, but it was useless in the darkness of the storm's center.

Fortunately, before she could panic again, the warmth on her cheek calmed her. Ciri looked to the side and saw Mitra, looking at her with a touch of nobility but kindness in her eyes.

Cadmus didn't care about the small movements of Ciri and Mitra; his body passed through the shield of darkness as if it were glass, scattering shards everywhere. Smoothly, he stepped onto the boat, which was rolling with the violent sea waves. He gently placed Ciri on the ground; the girl was still breathing heavily.

Looking around, Cadmus saw some sailors still alive, as they hadn't touched the emerald water. This left him somewhat satisfied. He himself hadn't expected a small experiment to be so efficient. It was practically a magical atomic bomb.

At the same time, they died without pain—his only gift of mercy toward these human dregs.

Cadmus's green eyes stared at the man wrapped in a black cloak; it was the mage who had created the shield earlier. Showing a gentle smile, he spoke: "Your friend is now a little puppy of mine; he doesn't even have a will of his own."

"Could you give me the payment Balon paid you? That would save both my time and yours," Cadmus asked again as the ship crashed violently against a huge wave. Water entered the deck, causing bodies to pile up on the sides of the ship.

Leroy gulped before the man who had caused so much death. He was an assassin who could kill people without even blinking, but killing tens of thousands and still being able to smile made even him, a veteran assassin, feel a chill. And this icy feeling had nothing to do with the environment.

Without any hesitation, he threw a vial toward Cadmus. In the next moment, he transformed into a shadow and surged toward the girl the monster had brought.

Ciri, who was still getting used to the chaotic movement of the ship on the waves, was shocked to witness the scene. She could see why Mitra had created small fireballs around her.

Instinctively, a green glow appeared around her body and, in the blink of an eye, Ciri's body disappeared in a ball of green light and reappeared five meters away.

"How is this possible? There was no magic involved!!!" a shocked exclamation rang out, and the dark mage appeared in the place where Ciri had originally been.

Leroy couldn't believe what he had just witnessed; it didn't look like magic, there wasn't even a trace of magic in the air. This completely subverted what he knew of magic, because regardless of the magic, there was always a trace of it!

However, Leroy couldn't think any more about this shocking fact; a talon pierced through his body, and his heart was ripped out alive. Mitra looked at the small bundle in her talon, still showing vitality, and showed a look of disgust.

With a flick of her talon, she threw the cloth that gradually became bloodied and Apparated to Ciri's shoulder, looking around with an arrogant and noble gaze.

Cadmus didn't care about what had just happened; his eyes were focused on the vial the mage had thrown. Inside the vial, a finger could be seen. It was blue and wrinkled; the black nail seemed to be five centimeters long, looking sharp as a knife.

In Cadmus's senses, there was a very familiar aura of the gods. Unlike the Seven-Faced God, the Drowned God was completely different. There was sea, death, and salt—which was no surprise. However, looking at the base of the finger, he could assume it was a sharp cut.

Obviously, it was a battle of gods; as for whether the Drowned God was still alive, that didn't cross his mind. If he were, that finger wouldn't be in that state.

Storing the finger in his bag, he thought with a look of amusement, 'Fortunately, I'm not like Itadori, who likes to eat rotten fingers.'

Looking back at Ciri, he wasn't surprised to see the mage's body. Mitra was not a simple phoenix like in the Harry Potter world, especially in this world, where she gained new abilities that enabled her to grow enormously.

"Teacher, look!" Cadmus heard Ciri's exclamation and looked in the direction she pointed.

Fish.

Many fish.

Cadmus raised his hand, and a *Lumos Maxima* shone in the sky. The court mage's expression became somewhat grim as he saw the scene before him. Tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of fish and other sea creatures were floating dead in the sea.

Honestly, it was a quite disturbing scene, including the human bodies around. At the same time, Cadmus understood that the *Avada Kedavra* had diluted in the water and killed everything with life for miles around.

Thinking that this could kill other innocent people, Cadmus frowned even more. He had practically created a dead sea because of a small experiment. This made him realize that although he wasn't a god, his strength could drastically change the environment.

Feeling dissatisfied with his own actions, Cadmus looked at the still-living sailors with a cold and deep gaze. In the eyes of these people, he looked like a demon coming from the seven hells.

With a quick flick of his wrist, he whispered, "*Sectumsempra*."

Invisible cuts sliced through these men's throats in a mere instant. They all tried to staunch the bleeding, but this was magic created to cause cuts and hemorrhaging in the target. There was no way for common people to survive.

They drowned in their own blood. Cadmus's gaze did not waver. If they were common people, perhaps he wouldn't kill them, but there were no good sailors in the Iron Fleet. Rape and kidnapping were the favorite things of these men—the famous salt wives.

"Ciri, you dodged the mage's attack well." Turning to look at Ciri, Cadmus said with a satisfied look. The girl had trained for a few days but was already controlling her own powers much better, as could be seen from the previous dodge.

Furthermore, he could see there were no emotions involved, only instinct. Although she still couldn't control it well, the first step had been taken; she only had to continue like this and she would have basic control over her own abilities.

Ciri was happy with Cadmus's praise; she felt that all the effort and sleepless nights were worth it at that moment. She discovered she liked receiving praise from her teacher; she didn't want to disappoint this man she saw as a god.

If Cadmus knew Ciri's thoughts, he would only say the girl never had a father and was using him as a father figure. Which was normal; Ciri hadn't known her father or had any father figure in her life.

Cadmus entered her life, and she unconsciously made him her father figure.

"Let's go to the other ships to finish our work," Cadmus said, stroking the girl's wet hair, and with a movement of his hand, he cut off the head of the House Greyjoy member and stored it before going to another ship.

Afterward, he had to go to the Iron Islands and bring Balon Greyjoy's head.
