My shoulder bumped into Caleb's body as I moved backward, startled by Arden's sudden arrival. I didn't know why he was here, and I couldn't help but feel suspicious.
"Why are you here?" I steeled myself to face Arden.
My intuition told me that Arden's intentions in coming to me now were not good, whatever he was planning at the moment.
"After what you did, you expect me to just let you go?" The smirk on Arden's face widened menacingly.
Not only that, he even walked closer to me, his sharp gaze fixed straight on me, making my whole body shiver.
The atmosphere at that moment was truly tense. I remember holding my breath. My gaze shifted when I realized that Caleb had slipped between Arden and me.
Now Caleb was standing in front of me, making me stare at his broad, tall back. It was then that I realized I had to breathe again, even though I knew that the situation was not yet completely under control.
