Before the charity auction began, my father intended to make an announcement. Caleb and I, who had somehow ended up together, watched from a distance.
"I didn't know my father wanted to make an announcement," I said softly.
"No wonder you didn't know," Caleb replied casually.
"So you knew?" I turned to Caleb, giving him a betrayed look.
Caleb just shrugged indifferently, not answering my question. I snorted softly at him, then turned my attention back to my father.
"Before we begin today's auction, I would like to say that my eldest daughter, Aria Lennox, has returned after three years of living outside the city. She is part of the Lennox family, so I hope no one will doubt her anymore." Father made the announcement as a warning to those present today.
My family already knew about the rumors circulating on the internet. Even though things had calmed down recently, the high society would continue to gossip if Father didn't do this.
