Caleb quickly pushed me behind him when he realized someone was trying to block our way.
I obediently hid behind Caleb's back, even unconsciously grabbing the hem of his coat out of fear.
"Wow, wow, wow! I didn't think they would notice us."
"Then we don't need to beat around the bush with these arrogant people!"
Slowly, five strangers who covered their faces with masks emerged from the shadows and walked towards Caleb and me.
"What should we do? I didn't expect there to be so many of them. Should we run away?" I whispered softly to Caleb while glancing at the five people who were getting closer.
"You don't need to be afraid. I'll protect you no matter what happens," Caleb tried to calm me down.
"Step back. I don't want to hurt you when I beat up these bastards," Caleb continued.
I nodded slowly and let go of the edge of his coat. "Be careful and don't get hurt," I said before taking five steps back from Caleb.
