I had built up the Village and had to turn it into a petri dish, to increase my powers through the dark mana. I started looking towards the forest to gather more pets, they were fast and useful and easy to create.
The human corpses required more dark mana and would deplete the village concentration. I had raised 10 undead each with different traits and skills from their past lives. And then the rats and a cat. Wanted to raise a dog.
I kept my dark mana reserves at 100 percent, incase I needed to heal myself and I would recharge the corpses every now and again by refilling their dark mana from the village concentration. Snow was melting and I needed to prepare the fields and prepare for when people came... Trial and error is the only way I guess...
Should I manufacture leather items and start trading... I had seed from the long house, that the village had stored... It was awfully lonely but I was relieved to have survived the winter in this new life. I had used the dark mana to preserve the remaining 30 villager corpses, it used less dark mana to preserve the corpses without raising them. I created a large storage house for the corpses and piled them there. And piling them together created more dark mana.
If someone got into the village, they'd think I kill people and use their bodies... They'd be wrong about the killing part... The village wouldn't look good to anyone, my power must be taboo in this world... Any world really.
Got the corpses to work the field and create a wooden fence around it, it was as big as the village itself, outside the village perimeter. Food for the future or I could trade with distant lands maybe... Truly I wasn't that good with kingdom building, but I'm sure a store house full of wheat would be good for something. I was the only one, along with some livestock who needed to eat so the food already stored in the village was enough.
If you looked at the village you'd noticed the live animals looked sick and dieing and the dead looked healthy because they were being preserved by the dark mana. I wondered about the undead like vampires, ghosts, and others. I wondered about other magics and what governed this world... It gets more exciting the more I learn.
