While Clark went out to deliver greeting cards, Jyn was not idle.
She went to a classroom and, with a kind smile on her face, addressed the audience:
"I am very glad that you students were able to remain calm and not be affected by the various trivial matters outside... If the old principal were still here, he would definitely praise your actions."
The voice was soft and gentle, with a hint of appreciation.
St. Kent Academy is not very large, with only about twenty classrooms. The classrooms for mutant students and regular students are separate.
Most of the classrooms are regular classrooms, with only two classrooms reserved for mutant students.
When Kent was alive, he tried having students study together in pairs but it didn't work out very well, and eventually it was abandoned.
Jean was in one of the mutant student classrooms, standing on the podium and tapping on the small blackboard.
The previous incident on the playground was just a group of ordinary students causing trouble; no mutant students were involved.
However, chaos has already arisen, and although it has not been explicitly stated, people are filled with anxiety.
To calm the anxieties of the many mutant students, Jean came to the classroom to comfort them.
The mutant students behaved very rationally.
However, the chaotic situation still left some students feeling visibly disappointed.
"If there's a first time, there will be a second time… Just because things seem fine now doesn't mean they will be safe in the future… With the old principal gone, there's no one left to protect us."
A girl with green hair spoke softly, her face forlorn.
Most mutant students are in a state of being unable to go home, having been cut off from their parents after their mutant identities were discovered.
Maintaining the same attitude towards their mutant children without showing prejudice or alienation is truly admirable and rare.
Most parents are, after all, just ordinary people, and are easily influenced by various rumors from the outside world.
In most rumors and gossip...the insane mutants are all ruthless killers!
If St. Kent Academy cannot protect these vulnerable mutant students, then these students don't even know where to go.
Jean glanced at the green-haired girl, her expression somewhat complicated.
In the green-haired girl, she saw a reflection of her past self the little girl with red hair back then, and now, this green-haired girl.
How similar they are!
Jean's expression turned serious, and she said very earnestly:
"Don't be discouraged, and never despair!"
"Clark has become the new principal of the academy, and he will handle all the troubles, so students, please rest assured that the difficulties you are facing will pass!"
"Aesop! Don't always look so downcast. You've been looking worried ever since you enrolled, but St. Kent Academy has been perfectly fine all along!"
The green-haired girl's name was Aesop. She had a somewhat eccentric personality; to be precise, this little girl was particularly prone to worrying unnecessarily.
Her ability is to communicate with trees. She likes to sit alone in the woods and talk to the trees, and she doesn't like to play with her peers.
As Aesop listened to Jean's words, he couldn't help but look up, his eyes shining brighter:
"Is Brother Clark the new principal? If it is Brother Clark... then I'm relieved. Brother Clark will definitely be able to do it."
Looking at Aesop's already remarkably refined face despite his young age, Jean's previous amiable smile gradually faded, replaced by a serious expression.
"Call him Principal Clark!"
"As a student, calling the principal 'brother,' what will people do if word gets out? How can we face the old principal? How can we face the new principal...?"
As soon as Jean opened her mouth, a string of educational words came out without end.
But clearly, Aesop let it go in one ear and out the other.
He lowered his head and gave a perfunctory "oh," clearly not paying attention.
Jean was a little stingy, but she still had to try her best to maintain a ladylike demeanor and keep smiling.
He glanced at Aesop out of the corner of his eye, made a mental note of it, and then went on to recount the main purpose of his trip.
Jean encouraged the students, which cheered them up and helped them regain their spirits, preventing them from looking dejected as before.
Jin suspected that the previous atmosphere was influenced by Aesop, but she lacked sufficient evidence.
She then said goodbye and turned to walk towards another mutant classroom.
She also had to cheer on the mutant students in another classroom.
The students in the other classroom had it much easier, since there was only one Aesop.
With her maxed-out eloquence, Jean could easily brainwash a group of underachieving students.
I breathed a sigh of relief as I left the classroom.
Jean thought she could finally take a break, but seeing the blonde girl running around the corner of the corridor, she knew her plans to rest were ruined.
There's no way around it; working at a school is just that painful. With thousands of people gathered in such a small place, it would be strange if nothing happened!
But as she watched the blonde girl running towards her, Jean felt somewhat uncertain:
"What could Gwen possibly want by coming all this way to see me?"
If a mutant student were to run over, Jean wouldn't be surprised at all.
But Gwenstersey...
Although Jean had considered asking Gwen for help before.
But that was just a thought in the end, and we didn't actually do it, did we?
Could it be...?
What kind of telepathic mutant ability did Gwen awaken?
With her mind wandering to all sorts of random thoughts, Jean walked towards Gwen.
