Down With the Ship… Aboard the Valkeria, currently engaged in a life-and-death battle somewhere in the Meta-Spacial Slip-Stream Network… Incoming enemy fire explodes all round the ship as Captain desperately tries to dodge and navigate at the same time as Jenny Nowhere and Gabriel Stern attempt to return fire at the swarming mass of attacking enemy ships using the Valkeria's D.E.B. Cannons, but there are just too many of them for one ship to handle on its own.
Captain Reina Lordella:
"SHIT! I CAN'T SHAKE EM! MUTHA FUCKER! LIAHONA! WE NEED THAT EXIT RIFT NOW!"
Liahona:
"Sorry, Captain! That last shot shredded our telemetry matrix! According to the last readings, if we proce…"
The Narrator:
Liahona's voice suddenly cuts out as volleys of Directed-Energy bolts rip through the hull of the Valkeria setting off explosions and damaging crucial systems.
- Liahona's sprite flickers a few times and cuts out. -
Kurt Lencer / White-Rabbit:
"LIAHONA'S A.I. CORE JUST TOOK A HIT! SHE'S DOWNLOADING HERSELF TO YOUR PERSONAL BACKUP CODEX-DRIVE, CAPTAIN!
The Narrator:
Captain Reina continues dodging and swerving, doing her best to avoid the incoming attacks but it is all too much as shot after shot rip through their ship.
Lily Spencer / Lucky-Bunny:
"DAMN! DAMN! DAMN! THEY JUST SCORED A DIRECT HIT AGAINST THE SHIP'S META-SPACIAL SLIP-FIELD EMITTER! OUR SLIP-FIELD IS DEGRADING FAST!"
The Narrator:
Jenny razors in frustration as another D.E. bolt erupts through their hull, cutting power to their weapon and shield systems.
Jenny Nowhere:
"THEY JUST TOOK OUT OUR DEFENSE MATRIX CORE! WE'VE LOST ALL WEAPONS AND SHIELDS! SHIP-STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY DOWN TO 35% AND DROPPING!"
Captain Reina Lordella:
"EVACUATE THE SHIP! I'LL STAY BEHIND AND KEEP THEM FOCUSED ON ME AS LONG AS POSSIBLE! I'LL ALSO WIPE THE MAIN DATABASE OF ANYTHING WE CAN'T LET THEM RECOVER!"
Lily Spencer / Kurt Lencer in unison:
"AYE, AYE, CAPTAIN!"
Lily and Kurt enter their escape-pods and launch.
Officer Gabriel Stern / Death-Speaker:
"BUT, CAPTAIN! YOU CAN'T…"
Shouting in objection at the Captain only to blocked and interrupted by Jenny
Jenny Nowhere:
"YOU HEARD HER!"
Jenny literally throws him into his escape pod and launches it for him before striding over to her own pod and then she gives the Captain one last smile and says…
Jenny Nowhere:
"GOOD LUCK, CAPTAIN!"
Jenny enters her pod and launches
Captain Reina Lordella:
Well, at least she finally called me captain
- Liahona's Sprite appears again in miniature form on the nearby Pilot's Dashboard (back view) projecting from the Captain's watch as she says… -
Liahona:
Going down with the ship, Captain?
Captain Reina Lordella:
"I guess I'm old-fashioned… Listen, Liahona, I've lost access to the Central Database. If I die, I need you to wipe anything too dangerous to let them recover. Do you understand?
Liahona:
"I understand… Permission to speak freely, Captain.
Captain Reina Lordella:
"Of course, my friend."
