Moments Earlier…
Kyrie's eyes had locked on several options but he fancied one more than the others.
The old lamppost at the road seemed the better choice. It was further and he had practice with it.
He didn't linger as the effects of Void Shift were quite instantaneous.
Space shifted, ripping apart subtly and re-threading itself instantly in a new order.
Kyrie was on the road, his bare foot on the cold cobblestone floors and well the lamp post had been sent to brighten his apartment, it was getting gloomy in there.
He took a quick breath trying to balance his heart rate and handle the recoil of this skill.
Suddenly voices came.
" There "
" That's the bastard "
Kyrie was speechless as he turned around seeing four men at the entrance of the building.
He knew the shots from the gun must have awakened his neighbours or any who managed to sleep through him and Vivienne's little reunion.
The four men were spread out along the street, one raising a revolver with another holding a machete and the other two holding electric batons – crude steam powered weapons.
Kyrie right now was as suspicious as it could get. He was shirtless, barefooted with the only clothing on him being his shorts.
"That's the fucker " one of the men's voice billowed.
Immediately the one with a revolver guided his weapon in Kyrie's direction.
" Bloody Hell " the exhausted Kyrie cursed as he ran away.
Meanwhile, In the apartment. Rudolf Stanks remained motionless , his cold blue eyes still observing the space Kyrie once was.
He wasn't all that shocked compared to the henchman and even Vivienne whose eye's twitched a bit.
That's my man. She thought to herself
The henchmen on the other hand were not that subtle. They panicked in shock as they saw a lamppost where Kyrie was.
" He– s gone boss " one of the exclaimed.
" He's outside " Rudolf confirmed
The men quickly turned away from Vivienne who had her plump bare-bottom facing them.
They tried carrying their companion that was shot by accident.
Rudolf on the other hand focused his attention on Vivienne trying not to stare for too long.
She made her way down the stairs of the platform slowly . Hands under her breast.
" Mrs Thawne,-- Rudolf spoke slowly and deliberately. please get dressed"
" Why? " She answered, still naked, walking towards the henchmen who shut their eyes again.
"Are you uncomfortable Rudy ? " She asked moving even closer. Her tone playful.
She saw the henchmen had their eyes closed shut and heads facing away from her voice.
" You still have your eyes closed, " She teased. " How adorable "
Rudolf who hated the nickname she called him didn't force it as he patiently tried to convince her to put on some clothes.
" Mrs Thawne , Your husband -"
" Isn't here " she completed his words much to Rudolf's annoyance but he kept a straight face non the less.
Her tone was light as she continued
" We both know you won't touch me. None of you will."
Her fingers now sliding playfully on the chair within the sitting area.
There was a glow to her as she continued .
"You could dare though but you know very well , he'll make your lives an unending sequence of agonizing torture"
One of the henchmen whimpered.
Rudolf's expression on the other hand didn't change, but his hands balled into a fist away from eyes.
" You do know the authorities will be here pretty soon. We need to leave."
"Then leave." She said sassily stopping in front of him. "I'm not stopping you, am I? "
"You have to come with us."
"Do I?" Her smile now creasing into a grin.
"And how exactly do you plan to make me, Rudy?" She dared him again.
---
A gunshot rang through the air, even as Kyrie ducked low, the bullet whizzing past his shoulder leaving a hole on the brick wall behind him.
He sprung into actions again, darting between parked steam carriages.
He ran barefooted even as his feets slid against the cobblestones.
The man soon fired more missed shoots further confirming how abysmal his aim was while drawing attention.
The streets were slowly waking up. Workers had started heading toward the factories.
Many of the tired looking individuals stopped in their tracks.
Watching abit dumbfounded as a half-naked man was sprinting through the fog with armed men chasing behind him.
They made sure to not get involved afterall this smelled like a gang thing.
Kyrie's lungs had been burning at this point. This was the most he had ran for awhile and this body wasn't necessarily in tip-top shape courtesy of his lover.
His feet at this point were wearing quickly, the rough stones of the cobblestone roads doing justice to them.
He suddenly blurred into an alley, flipping over a stack of crates. Hitting the crates backwards to slow down the men.
The men followed relentlessly, their boots kicking a way through the crates.
"Don't let him get away!" One of them screamed.
Kyrie was slowing down by the second, unable to keep his pace constant.
He started weighing other options, maybe just burning these bastards alive.
No. He remembered Negan's warning on his first day.
"Never use your abilities in public. Not when am not around "
The words still resonated in his mind and
So he ran. He was going to use his body, his mind and environment to handle this.
Afterall, adapting was his thing.
The Scene shifted again.
----
" You're wasting time," Rudolf said, his tone flat and controlled.
Vivienne sat on the sofa, still completely naked with green eyes locked on Rudolf.
"Am I really? Or are you the one wasting time trying to convince me to do something I'll obviously do when I'm ready?"
Rudolf's blue eyes dimmed with irritation. He was reaching his limit and Vivienne knew it.
"The Marshals ma'am— "
"Will arrive in 10, maybe 15 minutes,"
She cut him off again.
"There's plenty of time for me to get dressed and even more for you to stand there looking uncomfortable." She smirked
One of the henchmen shifted nervously trying to walk out with eyes closed.
"Boss, maybe we should just—" He gestured to just carrying something over his shoulder.
"Shut up, you buffon" Rudolf snapped at him.
Vivienne chuckled.
"Oh, Rudy. Always so serious."
She got off the chair, walking sensually as her hips followed a seductive rhythm toward the dresser.
"Fine. I'll get dressed. But only because I don't want you to rupture a vein"
She pulled open the drawer slowly, and immediately Rudolf turned his back, staring at the broken door as if he hadn't being sneaking peeks all this while.
The henchmen had taken this opportunity to move out of the room heading downstairs.
"You know, Rudy" Vivienne continued, her voice playful, seemingly in a good mood.
"Negan's going to be very upset when he finds out you broke into my home."
"This isn't your home, ma'am " Rudolf said coldly raising a brow at the mention of Negan but didn't bother to go further.
"Really ?---
She slowly slipped on a pair of undergarments and then a simple dress.
— Definitely Feels like it to me."
Rudolf didn't give any input, he didn't want to upset her after all she was finally dressing.
------
Kyrie suddenly burst out of the alley into a wider street. They were more people now. They stared as he sprinted past, desperation written across his face.
The men followed, relentlessly. Even as Kyrie's pace slowed, One of them got close.
Kyrie was quick , stopping abruptly as he spun his hands stretched in a clothesline, almost taking the man's head off.
The man staggered back coughing and Kyrie grabbed the machete, using the blunt side on his temple before kicking him into a wall.
The other men who were now feeling the strain too approached.
Kyrie quickly turned again.
He blurred through the streets, His vision tunneling. His heart pounding too fast for his own good but atleast they weren't shooting at him like mad men anymore.
He knew he needed to lose them but where? .. his eyes darted around.
he saw another alley, much darker this one.
Kyrie steered towards it still only in shorts.
The men followed nonetheless seemingly more motivated as he had took out one of them.
" This pesky bastards " he murmured
Entering into alley, his eyes met a large wall.
A dead end.
Bloody hell
His mind racing as he spun around, he could hear their footsteps stampeding forward.
It was now or never.
Fuck it … He opened his palms and energy began swirling.
-------
Vivienne finished dressing and turned to Rudolf, who still stood with his back to her.
"There," she said. "Happy now? My grumpy "
Rudolf quickly glanced at her, his eyes still cold as ever.
" We are leaving "
"Of course we are." Vivienne said walking past him toward the door before stopping.
"The Marshals will be here any moment now, wouldn't be convenient to be caught right ?"
Rudolf's nodded silently, obviously at his limits, if only she wasn't top priority.
Vivienne smiled. "Lead the way, Rudy" following behind him a smirk on her face knowing she had given Kyrie a better chance at escape.
If Rudolf had gone for him then it would have been nearly impossible or so she thought.
—-
The men approached, weapons raised as they could see orange light suddenly emanating from the dark alley Kyrie had entered.
Kyrie had decided to just forget about Negan's advice, it was his life on the line.
But amidst the chaos of his thoughts.
An idea clicked. It was desperate and risky but what's life without risk.
He definitely couldn't die here. Not after such a night and definitely not by a bunch of underpaid henchmen.
A notification flickered at the edge of his vision.
[SUCCESS]
Kyrie's breathing steadied, with a smirk on his face.
The men stepped into the alley, eyes scanning the shadows as the orange light had disappeared.
"Where the fuck is he?"
"Check behind those crates—" one of the me.
They searched. Looked. Shouted.
But they didn't find him. Kyrie had just played them.
But how ?
