Chapter 37: My Sister Is Very Angry! Ah~ It's Okay… Brother, Continue!

[Intimacy with Amatsuki Toki +40!]

Roy blinked in surprise. Just one promise about Wano Country, and the effect was that strong?

His bond with Toki had been improving rapidly these past few days—faster than it ever had with Linlin back then. Still, he hadn't expected such a massive boost in their intimacy value today.

"Alright…" Toki chuckled softly, nodding in agreement.

Then she and Roy looked up at Redding and the other giants.

"Understood," Redding said with a hearty grin. "We'll do as you say."

Why wouldn't he agree?

Traveling the world with Roy would give the boy the experience he needed—real battles, real lessons. To an Elbaf warrior, combat and adventure were the paths to true glory.

Redding's only concern was that Roy was still too young, too easily tricked by the world's schemes. But soon enough, when Roy grew older, there'd be nothing left to worry about.

In fact, Redding found himself secretly pleased by the idea of Roy and Toki journeying together.

If Roy could one day make Toki his wife and bring her back to Elbaf, the elders would be overjoyed. Even if he were already lying in his grave by then, Redding could still laugh so loud that the ground above him would shake.

Of course, Redding didn't know that Roy's ambitions didn't stop there. He didn't plan to bring back just Toki.

After the meal, the group packed up and returned to the ship.

Inside Roy's cabin, Toki sat on the hammock and pointed at the small wooden bed nearby. "You sleep there tonight. Sister won't hold you anymore."

"Alright," Roy said casually, lying down without protest and closing his eyes.

Toki's expression twitched. This child isn't cute at all.

She had been the one to offer warmth these past few nights, hugging him to sleep. But things were different now—she decided it was better to draw some boundaries.

Neither of them spoke further about it.

Both knew what Roy had said earlier: Wait until I grow up.

Toki told herself it was just about their journey to Wano Country. But… was that really all he meant?

Roy drifted off quickly, but Toki couldn't sleep.

She lay in the hammock, her eyes tracing the boy's peaceful face.

She had promised to wait until he grew up—but only for their journey, nothing more. She didn't dare think beyond that.

Eventually, lost in thought, she too fell asleep.

When dawn arrived, Roy yawned and sat up, rubbing his eyes. His gaze fell on Toki, still asleep in the hammock.

The morning light filtered through the cabin window, outlining her figure beneath her pink kimono. The hammock net left faint marks along her smooth, pale legs as they pressed gently together.

Then, as if sensing his stare, Toki's eyes fluttered open.

They looked at each other in silence.

After breakfast, the giants went ashore to gather wood, leaving the ship quiet.

Roy brought Toki onto the deck and placed two items on a table: a wooden stick and a black blindfold.

"What's this for?" Toki asked curiously.

"To train Observation Haki," Roy said matter-of-factly. He handed her the wooden stick and tied the blindfold over his own eyes.

"This is how we'll develop it. Sister Toki, please cooperate."

He had been thinking about it for a while. There were children in the world who had awakened their Observation Haki at a young age—so why couldn't he?

He knew his natural affinity for it wasn't great, but that didn't mean it was impossible.

If he started now and practiced hard, then someday… he'd awaken it too.

After all, even a faint glimpse of the future was better than seeing nothing at all.

"…Alright," Toki murmured hesitantly as she took the wooden stick from Roy. But the moment she saw him standing there, blindfolded, she froze.

She knew better than anyone how durable his body was—ordinary blades couldn't even scratch him. And yet, even knowing that, she just couldn't bring herself to hit him.

"I'm ready," Roy said calmly.

"…Should I start?"

"Go ahead."

Toki bit her lip, closed her eyes, and gave a light tap.

Thud.

The stick barely brushed his shoulder. Roy tilted his head.

"That's it? Come on, sister! Harder!"

Toki's face twitched. How could this child talk like that so seriously?

After a brief pause, she swung again—this time with a bit more strength.

"Don't think about anything weird," she scolded herself silently. "Just training… this is just training!"

Crack!

The stick struck Roy's head. He didn't even flinch. The wooden stick, however, split clean in half.

Toki blinked. "Ah…"

Roy sighed. "Sister Toki…"

"I—I'll get another stick!" she stammered, face flushing as she turned and ran off.

Roy just stood there with a helpless expression. "You could've used this instead," he muttered, pulling an iron rod from a barrel beside him. "It'll last longer."

Toki's head popped back around the doorway. "W-What are you talking about!? I'm not angry!" she said, clearly flustered.

But seeing his innocent face, her irritation melted almost instantly. Instead, guilt crept in.

I'm too harsh… he's just training. And I misunderstood him yesterday, too.

She sighed and returned to the deck.

Roy bent the iron rod with his bare hands to show her. "See? It doesn't hurt."

Toki stared blankly at the bent metal. "…You're impossible."

With a soft exhale, she took another rod, composed herself, and covered Roy's eyes once more.

This time, she swung carefully—light but precise.

Roy listened intently, focusing on the faint whistle of the iron rod cutting through the air. His blindfold made every sound sharper, every movement more distinct.

This was the same kind of training Rayleigh once used to teach Luffy the art of Observation Haki—learning to hear what eyes could not see.

Roy knew his talent for Observation Haki wasn't naturally strong. But that didn't matter. He had time, patience, and the will to push through any wall.

Even a weak spark could one day ignite into flame.

Toki, meanwhile, struck again and again. Every time the rod connected, it bent against his skin with a dull metallic thud.

Each time she hit him, her heart ached a little more.

He's trying so hard… and here I am, hitting him like this.

By the time the training ended, Roy sat cross-legged on the deck, drinking water that Toki had handed him. She sat beside him quietly and, after a pause, reached out to gently massage his head with her delicate fingers.

Her earlier irritation vanished. So did her guilt. What replaced them was a strange warmth—an indulgent fondness that made her heart flutter in confusion.

From behind a nearby wall, Pandora peeked out, eyes wide.

"What a master…" he muttered in awe.

When it came to Roy's methods for winning people over, no one had more experience observing them than Pandora.

[Intimacy with Amatsuki Toki +5!]

Roy stayed silent, sipping his water. But in his mind, he could almost hear the familiar chime of his growing bond.

Weird as it feels, he thought, as long as that number keeps rising… I'm not complaining.

Sometimes, when words couldn't explain a person's feelings, the intimacy value was more reliable than any kind of Haki.
