Although the torrent of spoilers and truths about Hela had successfully planted a crippling seed of doubt in Loki's mind, a more immediate, primal impulse seized the God of Mischief: divine rage.
A mere mortal had not only appropriated the most powerful symbol of Asgardian sovereignty, the Mjölnir Hammer (as Darcy would call it), but had also mocked him, calling him a "Puny God" and a child playing house. As a high and mighty God, such an insult, coupled with his failure to lift the hammer and his brother's broken, pitying gaze, was completely unacceptable.
"Your news is truly surprising," Loki snarled, struggling to regain his composure as he manifested his golden horned helmet—a final, desperate attempt at dignity. "However, even so, it cannot absolve you of your sins. Those who insult a God shall suffer divine wrath!"
Loki was about to raise his scepter and continue his pathetic, illusion-based attack on Su Yi, but Su Yi moved first. The Asgardian was already too predictable and too slow.
Su Yi dropped Mjolnir, relying on its inherent immovable enchantment to secure it temporarily. He then directly grabbed Loki by the scruff of his ridiculous helmet and, with a subtle shift in his aura, teleported. The sudden, sickening lurch of the world caught Loki completely off guard.
In a flash of residual energy, they reappeared on the outskirts of Puente Antiguo—a dusty, abandoned stretch of desert far from the townspeople and the frantic S.H.I.E.L.D. containment field.
"If we're going to fight, let's do it where we don't accidentally vaporize a taco truck," Su Yi said, releasing the God of Mischief. Loki stumbled, his composure completely ruined by the abrupt, non-Asgardian translocation.
"This mortal," Loki hissed, rubbing his neck, "possesses powers that defy our knowledge!"
Su Yi was now eager to test his strength against a known celestial baseline. If he could easily defeat Loki, he could confidently use a Challenge Card to take on the broken Thor (perhaps in the guise of 'tough love' or a 'necessary lesson'). Conversely, if Loki's true strength exceeded his imagination and the Challenge Card failed, he'd know his limits.
Su Yi looked at Loki, standing ready in his green and gold armor. "Now, King of Tricks. Make your move."
Loki was beyond provocation; he was pure, seething fury. "You lowly mortal, you will suffer divine punishment for provoking me!"
He raised his scepter and began to unleash bolts of focused, destructive energy attacks.
Biubiubiu!
The bolts of green magic struck Su Yi, who stood his ground, letting the energy impact his new, reinforced physical shell. The attacks dissipated harmlessly against him. They were simply too weak.
Su Yi sighed, a sound of profound disappointment. According to the system's energy classification, Loki's attacks were likely only around Level 4—powerful enough to destroy human technology and brick walls, but completely ineffective against Su Yi's Level 6-7 enhanced physique and the inherent protective magic still clinging to him from the Mjolnir interaction.
Su Yi quickly analyzed the problem: Asgardians (and indeed, many powerful beings in this universe) fundamentally misunderstood or simply disliked pure energy projection.
Hela, Goddess of Death: Preferentially uses blades and a sword—melee.
Thor, God of Thunder: Clearly a mage with unparalleled elemental control, yet plays as a warrior who hits things with a hammer—magic-melee hybrid.
Loki, God of Mischief: A top sorcerer of the Nine Realms, who chooses to use daggers and illusions over fireballs—trickster-melee hybrid.
Even on Midgard, the pattern held: Tony Stark fought close-quarters with Whiplash; the Sorcerer Supreme, Gu Yi, was a peerless martial artist; and even the later iteration of Doctor Strange preferred magical whips and portals over long-range destructive spells.
"Damn," Su Yi muttered, realizing the pattern was universal. "Turns out, I'm also a close-combat fighter in this world. The universe rewards those who throw hands."
Su Yi decided to end the "energy exchange" immediately. He suddenly channeled his power into his legs, kicking off with a thunderous burst of kinetic energy. His whole body shot out like an arrow from a bow, leaving a small crater on the cracked ground as if it had experienced a controlled explosion.
He threw a simple, unadorned punch at Loki.
As a noble God, Loki fatally underestimated Su Yi's speed and density. Loki's reaction time, based on fighting a predictable, frontal-assault warrior like Thor, was a crucial half a beat too slow.
It was this minuscule amount of time that allowed Su Yi's fist to land squarely on Loki's breastplate.
A tremendous, tectonic force struck Loki. The God of Mischief felt a crushing, internal agony—as if he'd been hit by a runaway freight train made of tungsten. His illusionary armor instantly destabilized, and he was sent flying, tumbling violently across the barren ground in a cloud of dust and shattered asphalt.
Loki slid to a stop, staring up at the desolate sky, his body aching. This mortal... actually possesses such powerful strength that he could injure a God!
Just as Loki was doubting his lineage, Su Yi had already closed the distance, flying silently beside Loki and stopping steadily with zero wasted motion.
Loki reacted, scrambling upright, rage once again displacing his shock. "Enough! I will not endure this disrespect! You and this Planet will pay a heavy price!"
Loki was about to conjure a more complex attack when Su Yi suddenly struck again, hitting him with a blurring combination of punches and kicks, exploiting the Asgardian's lack of true melee training.
Loki tried to block, but the God of Mischief was simply no match for the speed and power of a Symbiote-enhanced, Mjolnir-blessed human in direct combat.
Su Yi knocked Loki down again. Loki lay in the resulting shallow crater, his golden armor scratched and his dignity completely gone.
"Is this an Asgardian God? He doesn't seem very strong," Su Yi said, loud enough for Loki to hear, rubbing his chin in feigned contemplation. "Could it be that I can go abuse Hela now?"
Su Yi was, of course, being cautiously misleading. He knew a severely weakened Hela could crush Mjolnir with one hand. Challenging Thor was still the more reliable, profitable, and safer venture.
Just as Su Yi paused, momentarily distracted by his own internal analysis, Loki used his most reliable trick. A second, identical Loki suddenly shimmered into existence beside Su Yi, brandishing a shimmering, specially enchanted Asgardian dagger and aiming for the kidney—a signature "kidney-piercing strike."
Su Yi was aware of the illusion spell and the classic trick. He didn't defend, choosing instead to use this moment to test his new Symbiote/Mjolnir-energy-buffered defense against an Asgardian weapon.
Loki's triumph lasted less than a second. The dagger struck Su Yi's skin, struggled to pierce, and then snapped against the reinforced biological-celestial barrier, unable to go any further than a shallow scratch.
Loki's smile instantly froze. Impossible. This dagger was capable of injuring Thor himself, yet it couldn't harm this mortal!
Su Yi calmly grabbed Loki's dagger arm and admitted his calculation. "An Asgardian weapon, after all. Not an ordinary knife. Good durability."
Loki tried desperately to break free, but Su Yi held him with the effortless strength of the Hulk grasping a toddler.
Looking at Su Yi's wide, wicked smile, Loki suddenly had a premonition—a flash of green-skinned terror from a future he hadn't yet experienced.
"You, what are you going to do?"
Just as Loki panicked, Su Yi slammed the illusion-wielding Loki into the ground, confirming it was the real one. He then grabbed Loki's ankles with both hands.
Princess? If you were really a Princess, I might be gentler. Too bad, you're a male.
Left and Right Slam Technique!
Su Yi began the most humiliating, physically devastating move possible. He slammed Loki down hard on the left, then swung him up and slammed him down equally hard on the right. The ground buckled, and two new, deep, and perfectly shaped craters appeared on Su Yi's left and right sides.
In the center of the right crater, Loki lay, his armor gone, his hands placed pathetically in front of him, looking utterly peaceful. He was not only defeated, but unconscious.
The Escape to Asgard
A furious, horrified shout broke the silence. Thor had tracked the signature, arriving just in time to witness the final, brutal physics lesson.
"How could you do this?" Thor roared, grief turning into defensive rage. "He is an Asgardian God, he is my brother!"
Su Yi calmly exposed the shallow scratch on his side where the dagger had failed. "He was trying to kill me just now, Thor. I was just acting in self-defense! He attacked me with a hidden blade after I spared him."
Thor was momentarily silenced. He still didn't know Loki wasn't his biological brother, but he couldn't deny the aggression. He blurted out, "Maybe it was just an accident, Su! He is a trickster!"
Loki, barely conscious, felt like dying; what the hell was self-defense, what the hell was just an accident!
Loki knew he had to retreat immediately to prevent further physical and psychological trauma. He used the last of his will to project a desperate plea.
"Heimdall, send me back!"
The Bifrost Bridge's rainbow energy instantly enveloped Loki, preparing to take the damaged God of Mischief away.
Su Yi felt the immense energy signature—the perfect interstellar jump point. He flew over, grabbed the now-unconscious Loki just as the energy peaked, and prepared to go to Asgard to scout the way and plant a flag.
Seeing this, Thor, completely forgetting his unworthiness, roared and also wanted to follow the rainbow bridge.
However, Su Yi and Loki instantly disappeared from the spot, leaving only a fading, multi-colored pattern and a new crater.
Thor watched the Bifrost Bridge's energy disappear and screamed at the sky. "Heimdall, and me! Take me with them!"
But Heimdall, the all-seeing Guardian of the Bridge, did not answer. He stood ready, vigilantly watching the Bifrost Bridge—not for the return of his King's son, but for the reappearance of the new, lightning-crowned mortal who had dared to ride the Rainbow Road uninvited.
Loki was held tightly by Su Yi, the unconscious God of Mischief unable to break free until the bone-jarring, stomach-lurching journey through the stars concluded.
They rematerialized in the glittering, vast chamber of the Bifrost. Heimdall stood on the pedestal, his great sword drawn, his golden eyes narrowed in utter disbelief and suspicion.
"Stop!" Heimdall commanded, his voice echoing in the chamber. "This is the Divine Realm! You should not trespass on Asgard!"
Loki, groaning from the pain, instantly recognized the opportunity to shift blame. "Heimdall, guards! Seize this intruder! He is an enemy of Asgard! He attacked me and stole Mjolnir!"
Su Yi ignored the guards charging forward. He had achieved his objective: confirming the location, the means of transport, and establishing a teleportation anchor.
He faced the great gatekeeper, his stance radiating powerful, non-hostile confidence.
"Loki," Su Yi said, tossing the battered God of Mischief unceremoniously onto the steps. "Since you're back, stay here and play your little games. Try to stop the Frost Giants. Try to fool your mother. Try to find your sister."
Su Yi met Heimdall's gaze directly, a clear, confident threat passing between them.
"I've got that Planet covered now. If you dare to cause trouble, if you send an army, or if you continue your petty tricks, I promise you, you'll lose even worse than you did today, King of Fools."
With a final, dismissive gesture, Su Yi directly teleported away, utilizing the anchor he had just established, instantly returning to the outskirts of Puente Antiguo.
