The clash between Android 16 and Cell didn't go unnoticed.
The Z Fighters all felt the enormous surge of ki.
If they couldn't sense something this powerful, they would have no right to call themselves warriors.
Without hesitation, they all flew toward the battlefield.
The aura they sensed was bizarre—it contained the essence of countless lives, an unnatural blend that unsettled them all.
"This energy… what the hell?" Vegeta muttered, his eyes narrowing. "It's powerful… and it even carries traces of my aura—and Kakarot's too!"
"Let's stop speculating," Piccolo said coldly. "We'll find out soon enough when we get there."
Vegeta gritted his teeth and shot off toward the battlefield.
Meanwhile, the fight raged on.
Cell frowned as his strike was blocked. "I didn't expect you to match me blow for blow… impressive for a machine."
Android 16 remained silent, his expression unchanging as he continued his relentless assault.
Cell smirked to himself. He wasn't interested in wasting too much energy on this fight.
His true goal was still the same: absorbing Androids 17 and 18. Only then could he evolve into his perfect form.
Once perfect, he would be unstoppable—the strongest being in the universe.
Watching from the sidelines, 18 muttered, "16's actually struggling against him…"
"Tch. Damn bastard," 17 growled, glaring at Cell. "He won't stop chasing us. 18, let's go together. If we surround him, we'll crush him for sure."
18 nodded. "Yeah. It's our best option. If we just leave it to 16, both sides could end up badly injured."
At that moment, 16 spotted an opening. His fist slammed straight into Cell's gut with brutal force.
"Yes!" 18 shouted, clenching her fist in triumph. "That's it, 16!"
17 grinned for the first time. "Heh. Maybe we don't even need to interfere. 16 might finish this himself."
They relaxed slightly, believing victory was in sight.
16's follow-up strikes hammered Cell, forcing the bio-android onto the defensive.
Blow after blow connected until finally—WHAM!—Cell was sent crashing into the ground, buried in rubble.
Just then, the Z Fighters arrived on the scene.
17 scowled. "Great. These pests again."
18 crossed her arms. "Seriously… it feels like they're haunting us."
Normally, the androids were the ones hounding others. But now, it seemed they were the ones constantly being pursued.
Piccolo glanced between the androids and the battlefield.
His eyes settled on 16. "Who was that you were fighting just now?"
The others turned to him too. That monstrous aura had been too suspicious—too familiar.
"That being's name is Cell," 16 said plainly. "He's an android… but different from us. His purpose is to absorb 17 and 18. Only then will he reach his true form."
"What?!" Krillin gasped. "Absorb them?!"
Piccolo's face darkened. Even though 16 hadn't explained everything, the message was clear enough. Cell was a massive threat.
He glanced at the large crater where Cell had fallen. "I'll check for myself."
"Wait, Uncle Piccolo," Gohan said nervously. "Let me go with you!"
Piccolo shook his head.
"No, Gohan. Stay here." His tone was firm. "That monster is dangerous. If something happened to you, there'd be no undoing it."
Krillin placed a hand on Gohan's shoulder. "Don't worry. Piccolo can handle it."
As Piccolo descended into the crater, Cell lurked below, hidden in the shadows.
Blood dripped from his mouth, but his eyes burned with determination.
"Damn it… all of them are here now," Cell thought grimly. "If I waste more time, I'll be cornered. I have to absorb 17 and 18… now."
Suppressing his ki to the lowest possible level, he slipped through the ground unseen.
While Piccolo landed cautiously in the crater, Cell had already burrowed behind 17 and 18.
Then, with a sudden burst of speed—
CRASH!
Cell erupted from underground, lunging straight toward his targets.
"Not good!" Piccolo's eyes widened as he shouted up to the others.
The Z Fighters tensed in alarm, realizing too late what Cell was aiming for.
