Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Confirm/Cancel start next day

"This box isn't as heavy as he said it was," Cipher said easily, patting the dust off her hands after placing the box in a room filled with miscellaneous items.

Then she turned and walked out of the room. As soon as she stepped out, she saw two figures staring blankly at her.

"What's wrong with you two? Do you still need to move anything?" Cipher asked, looking at the two people in front of her with some confusion.

Hearing her voice, the two quickly reacted, shaking their heads in unison.

"No, no, Sister Cipher, the room is almost tidied up. You can sleep there tonight for now."

Saying this, she took Cipher's hand and led her towards the room.

Entering the room, it was actually quite simple, just a bed and a table. But when Cipher thought that this was a house built in the ruins, she suddenly felt that this house was too luxurious.

"Oh, right, I almost forgot to ask, how did you manage to build this house in an underground garage buried by ruins?"

Cipher suddenly remembered that she had initially wanted to ask Lauren and Ethan how they built this house, but somehow the conversation had strayed.

"Oh, that? It's because the space inside my bracelet is very, very large."

Hearing Cipher bring up the matter, Lauren took out her spatial bracelet again.

"At that time, Ethan and I wanted to find a place to set up a base, but in Pit bottom, any building on the ground felt too conspicuous."

"So we found this place, an abandoned underground parking lot!" Saying this, Lauren spread her arms and twirled a few times.

"This place was originally large and open, but for some reason, it became filled with construction waste. So I thought, since I have a spatial bracelet and Ethan has strength, I could first have Ethan clear a passage, and then use the spatial bracelet to transport the waste away."

"As for this house, Ethan and I built it outside. After it was built, we didn't connect it to the ground, making it an independent entity. We just wanted to see if the spatial bracelet could fit the house inside."

"And it succeeded?" Having heard this far, Cipher couldn't possibly fail to guess how they did it.

She looked at the bracelet in Lauren's hand, and her eyes changed, not with greed, but with shock.

To be able to fit a house inside... just how big was the space inside this bracelet?

She admitted that she had underestimated this item before. Cipher originally thought that no matter how big the bracelet was, it would probably only be a few cubic meters.

And this might not even be the limit of the bracelet, as she hadn't seen how big it truly was inside.

"That's right! It successfully fit this house in!" Lauren was very excited, and it was clear that she remembered this event vividly.

"Then we just needed to move this house here using the spatial bracelet and then stabilize the foundation. No one would ever imagine that there's a complete house inside a pile of ruins!"

"Indeed... I wouldn't have imagined it." Cipher nodded in agreement.

However, she then pointed to the electric light above her head and asked, puzzled: "Then where does all this electricity come from? There shouldn't be electricity under the ruins, right?"

"The electricity comes from the box you were carrying, Sister Cipher." With that, Lauren walked out of the room and headed towards where Cipher had placed the box.

"The box?" Cipher tilted her head, somewhat confused, but still followed Lauren.

The two arrived in front of the box, and Lauren opened it first.

After the box was opened, Cipher saw what was inside.

Several large battery-like objects.

"Ta-da! These are what I spent a fortune on - Energy Compression Batteries!"

"One battery can power this place for over a month!" After saying this, Lauren closed the box and then walked to the living room.

Walking behind a wall in the living room, Lauren grabbed a metal handle and pulled it, revealing a compartment in front of Cipher.

The compartment contained exactly the same compression batteries as those in the box.

Similar to the rechargeable batteries of her previous life? Except that the rechargeable batteries of her previous life were mainly for emergencies, while these energy compression batteries could be used continuously.

So... are these batteries also a type of electromagnetic device? If I threw an EMP grenade over there... No, no, this is Lauren and her friends' house, why would I have such a thought?

Thinking of this, Cipher immediately shook her head, thoroughly clearing out the dangerous thoughts, then looked back at Lauren, smiling as she thanked her: "I see. Thank you for the explanation, Lauren."

"Hehe, you're welcome, you're welcome." Faced with Cipher's praise, Lauren scratched her head, a little embarrassed.

"Oh, right, Sister Cipher, here's this back for you." Immediately after, she seemed to remember something, then looked down at the spatial bracelet in her hand.

Soon, she pulled out the bag of dried fish that Cipher had left behind earlier.

Cipher, who had been somewhat confused about what Lauren was returning to her, stiffened when she saw her take out the bag of dried fish, almost "teleporting" away again.

She hadn't expected Lauren to bring this out again. Hadn't she told them to eat it earlier?

"Um... you don't need to return this to me. You two eat it. I still have quite a lot." Although it was a bit sudden, her previous self-reflection wasn't for nothing. Cipher quickly regained her composure and swiftly responded to Lauren.

It was just that her voice was still a little stiff.

"But..." "Captain, it's getting late. How about we call it a day, and discuss other matters tomorrow morning?"

Lauren originally wanted to say more, but Ethan, seeing that Cipher still seemed a bit afraid of the item in Lauren's hand, interrupted her before she could continue.

"Yawn... Ethan is right, I'm a bit tired today too. Let's stop here for today. I also want to go rest." Seeing Ethan come to her rescue, Cipher immediately agreed, even letting out a yawn and feigning a tired expression.

"Okay... then I'll head back to my room first. Sister Cipher, you should go rest too. Good night!" Lauren wasn't stupid. Seeing that Cipher didn't want to talk much about this matter, she said good night, then pulled Jasmine and walked into one of the rooms.

"Good night." Cipher also said good night to Lauren and Ethan respectively, then walked back to the room Lauren and the others had prepared for her... After entering the room and closing the door, Cipher eagerly threw herself onto the bed.

Feeling the softness of the quilt, she comfortably narrowed her eyes and stretched leisurely.

After stretching, Cipher rolled over and lay on the bed, looking at the electric light hanging from the ceiling, murmuring to herself.

"Because I was too excited, I came to another world, then became my favorite character, and even met many new friends... What a fantastical experience." At this, Cipher's lips curved into a slight smile.

"Honestly, it feels pretty good! After all, there's nothing worth remembering in my previous life..."

"But deep down, there's still some reluctance... After all... that was the world I lived in for over twenty years..."

"..."

"Oh, come on! Why think so much!" Suddenly, Cipher closed her eyes and vigorously patted her head several times.

"Since I'm already here, I shouldn't keep thinking so much! And now that I am Cifera, a demigod who controls trickery, I don't even know how long my lifespan is! What are a mere twenty-plus years from my previous life? Sleep, sleep!" With that, Cipher pushed herself up from the bed.

With a "click," the light went out, and the entire room plunged into darkness.
