His expression wasn't shocked, and he wasn't frowning. It was something much worse.

His eyes were bright, his gaze fixed entirely on the white fabric before he slowly raised his head to look at me.

It was the look he wore when he found something that thoroughly interested him, something he had every intention of investigating.

The heat rushed into my face so fast I thought my skin might actually split. I went completely crimson from my collarbone to my hairline.

"That's a mistake," I choked out, my voice cracking.

"A mistake?" Cassian repeated, his thumb tracing the small red cross on the pocket.

"I didn't ask for that," I said, already scrambling across the rug toward him, my hands reaching out to snatch the white cloth out of his grip.

"Cyan just—he threw it into the stack while I was in the fitting room. I specifically told him no in the shop. Give me that, Cassian—"
