Chapter 9 - Classes and Quests

Besides the equipment, some more powerful than others and maybe even more worrying, something else had finally happened. I had reached Level 1 and unlocked the class subsystem. I was immediately encouraged to choose my first class but the options deferred from what I had expected. Instead of a Warrior, Mage or Monk like class, I was offered the following classes:

1. Courier

2. Scout

3. Programmer

The three classes were.....not the best. They offered each only two Class-Skills and besides that only a boost to their relevant stats. Though there was one thing each offered. And that was a profession based item. The Courier had a soul bound shoulder bag. The Scout had a pair of glasses, soul bound as well. The Programmer provided an untraceable laptop and it was.....you guessed it!.....soul bound.

The decision on what class I was going to choose seemed easy, right. But it wasn't. The Courier offered a boost in agility and endurance. Scout was dexterity and agility while the Programmer offered intelligence and dexterity.

And while I was very interested in the third class, I had enough Intelligence for now. What I had to consider was if I would be able to level up each class because to do that, I needed to use my class. And right now, the only class that wouldn't either throw me into vigilantism or make me waste time inside my home, was the courier class. Its boost was also useful for me as it made delivery easier and would likely level up quickly.

After I had selected the class, a notification window popped up.

[Choose class: Courier]

[The Courier-Class specializes in the safe delivery of cargo. Therefore, a soul bound shoulder bag has been generated. Besides the obvious space inside and the different pockets, which are big enough to be used as a school bag and hold any additional material without problem or strain, is a secondary small extended space pocket. It can hold as much as the regular pocket can. The space pocket is inaccessible for anyone besides the user. Return function to the host enabled.]

[Your stats have seen an astonishing increase over the last few weeks.

Str: 3 > 7

End: 5 > 15

Dex: 2 > 7

Agi: 5 > 15

Int: 7 > 9

Wis: 7 > 9

Luc: 4

(Stats of a regular child at seven years: 5 in atleast one category)

Congratulations Host, your Courier Class has made two of your stats pass into the superhuman (minor) realm.]

[Class Skills:

1. Runner's breath: (Passive)

Your breathing is regulated, saving stamina during long distance travel and quick recovery of stamina.

2. Terrain Reader: (Passive)

You can read the ground at a glance — knowing where to step for more traction, what surfaces are slippery, and where to push off for speed.]

Now that I think about it, the class was probably the best pick for me. Speed and endurance were essential if I wanted to continue living on my own and staying the fuck away from Midoriya Inko.

The bag I got was.....awesome. The system didn't allow me to store none-system items in its inventory. Not after the tutorial phase, after I reached Level one, was over. The orb, gun and dagger were stored by me inside the inventory while the cloak and boots were put on for the next day.

And then, just as the sun peaked over the horizon, three system notifications went off.

....

The daily quest was easy. Even the phone would be as I had recently been paid enough to buy myself one. The Multiversal Quest was.....something.

As soon as the day began, I was up and about. School had stopped feeling risky, even Inko had stopped showing up Infront of it. Bakugo and Co were still trying to "get" me, his friends were visibly less interested in it as Bakugo.

The deliveries were..... different. A lot. I was faster, so much so that a few police officers that saw me as I passed them by at top speed, raised their eye brows trying to figure out if I was using my quirk or just that fast. But instead of trying to stop me or anything, they just let it be.

The padded boots were a miracle for my feet. I could run for longer without feeling the strain in my ankles. The class skills helped a lot, too. I had never felt so good while running at break neck speed. And even if I had to stop to catch my breath and relax my legs, the suffocating feeling of tiredness left within just a few minutes. I hadn't had to use either of my survival equipment, yet. Which was a good thing for me. For the first time since I ran away, life began to look like it was getting better. Then once the sun set again and I stayed awake to train my throwing skill with the orb.(As I didn't throw hard enough to break a wall, not was it heavy enough to do so easily, the wall I bounced it off did not receive any damage.) The phone I got by simply walking into a shop and buying one, even though the cashier frowned at me.

[Daily Quest: Complete]

[Beginning transfer to the world: Lord of the Rings]

What? Just like that? What about the weekly quest?

[Weekly Quests are designed in a way that would allow for their completion within a week's time.]

But how would I get orders for the deliveries?

[Installing Delivery App on the hosts phone. Upgrade complete.]
