"Digimon?" Airi and Sora echoed simultaneously. Sora looked at Airi with confusion, "I have never heard anything like that."
"Me neither." Airi shook his head. "But Puroromon here, is really similar with a bee."
"You're right. I was worried for a second when Airi came here with an enormous bee behind you." Sora smiled sheepishly while scratching her head.
"But bees or other animals can't talk like you." Airi tilted her head to Puroromon, who mirrored her action.
"There's also some Digimon who can't talk here." Puroromon agreed.
"Well, baby Digimon usually can not speak yet." Pyocomon said thoughtfully.
"W-wait, that's not what I mean…"
"So, you mean every animal here can talk?" Sora asked incredulously.
"We are not animal! We are Digimon, Sora~" Pyocomon whined.
"Okay, okay, I'm sorry…"
*Boink boink boink
From their right side, there is something bouncing nearby. From the bush, a cute white creature appeared. The four of them simultaneously look at it. It blinked at them, and opened its big mouth full of sharp teeth. Before they had time to be surprised or afraid, it had talked.
"Takeru, come here, come here!"
"Ah, Tokomon, wait for me!" Takeru shouted from nearby.
"Takeru, don't run, it's dangerous!" they heard Yamato reprimanded him.
"Ehehehe." Takeru followed Tokomon while grinning, and met with four of them. "Airi-san! Sora-san!" He greeted cheerfully.
"Takeru-kun, who is this?" Sora asked.
"This is Tokomon! He said he is my partner!" He introduced them. Tokomon bounced cheerfully beside him.
Not long, Yamato also appeared, with an orange ball nestled in his hand. Feeling their inquiry at him, the orange ball with a horn on its head blushed shyly and introduced itself. "Hello, I'm Tsunomon."
"Airi and Sora too." Yamato muttered while looking at Puroromon and Pyocomon.
"Whoa, a bee! I have never seen a bee that large in Japan." Takeru said, astonished when looking at Puroromon.
Tokomon tilted its head confusedly. "Japan, what is that, Takeru?"
Airi, Sora, and Yamato exchanged glances.
"What do you mean, Tokomon? Isn't this in Japan?" Takeru asked.
"I've never heard of Japan before." Tokomon shook its head, or rather, its whole body.
"Then if not in Japan, where are we?" Sora asked.
"We are in File Island!" Pyocomon answered, while rubbing onto Sora again.
Hearing that, Airi turned pensive.
"Just where on earth are we?"
"Earth? What is that, Airi?" Puroromon asked from her side.
"Eh?!"
Did it mean that they were not on earth anymore?!
"GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" Someone's scream was heard, making all of them jumped, startled.
"That voice…" Airi stated hesitantly.
"Isn't it Joe-senpai?" Sora exclaimed.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" the scream continued closer and closer to their group, until the source of the scream, Joe, jumped from the bush. When he saw Yamato, he ran to him so fast that Yamato was shocked.
"Help, there's something weird following me!!!" Joe begged Yamato while shaking his shoulder so hard until Yamato looked dizzy.
Then, a brown creature, who was apparently clinging onto Joe's back this entire time, popped its head out.
"Hey, Joe. I'm not weird. I'm Pukamon." It said.
"GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!" Joe started to scream again and ran around frantically. To its credit, Pukamon on Joe's shoulder seemed to enjoy this ride just fine, laughing so hard while holding onto Joe more tightly.
"Joe-senpai, calm down!" Sora tried to calm him.
Yamato grabbed Joe's hand, forcing him to stop running around. Then, finally, Joe stopped his scream just enough to begin looking around. He found Airi, Sora, Takeru, Yamato, each with a creature the same as the one who followed him at their side.
"Huh, what just happened?" Joe slumped down his shoulder.
Looking at Joe who had calmed down, they sighed with relief.
"I heard Joe-senpai's scream. What happened?" Mimi's voice piped in. She came to their group from another bush, followed by a green bulb shaped creature, most likely another Digimon.
"Ah, Joe-senpai was surprised by Pukamon, is all." Sora tried to explain.
"Of course I am surprised! Aren't you all also surprised? An animal-like creature suddenly pounced on me and it can talk!" Joe exclaimed indignantly.
"Well, Puroromon and Pyocomon here had already explained it to us. They are apparently digital monster, or for short, Digimon." Airi explained to Joe.
"Monster? Digital? Like some sort of computer program you mean?" Joe wondered.
"Computer program? Joe, what is that?" Pukamon asked curiously from Joe's shoulder. Joe, who apparently had forgot about Pukamon, jumped slightly hearing its voice.
"Geez, don't scare me!" Joe said hotly.
When they saw Pukamon just snickering from Joe's back, they surmised Pukamon did it deliberately to tease Joe.
Rather than waiting for another bickering, Airi continued quickly. "They also said they were not familiar with Japan, and this place is called File Island."
"Eh, I've never heard of a place like that before." Mimi said.
"Me too!" Takeru chimed in.
"Well, it's not important! I think now we should look for people. Maybe they will know how to get back to our camp ground." Joe said. Yamato looked serious. "Joe-senpai, I think we are not near our camp ground anymore, or even Japan. This place is entirely different."
"Well, I have been to several countries before," Airi started hesitantly. While looking at their surroundings, she said "and I've seen many more country's sceneries from TV. These trees, Digimon, and even the grass is very strange."
"I think this is not earth anymore." She finished solemnly.
"Eh? Impossible!"
"How can we get here?!"
"Well, that we don't know…"
*rumble rumble
They stopped their discussion hearing many footsteps coming closer. Suddenly, Taichi and Koushirou, each holding a Digimon, ran past them from the opposite side to the shrine.
"RUN!" Taichi shouted at them while running.
"We're chased by Dokugumon!" Koushirou, behind him, elaborate before following Taichi hot on his heels.
Their Digimon, hearing Dokugumon chased them, began to panic.
"Run! Dokugumon is a dangerous Digimon!" Pyocomon warned.
"You'll get eaten!" Tokomon exclaimed.
"Mimi, run!"
"Tanemon, wait!"
They started to ran following Taichi.
Just near the shrine, the Digimon on Koushirou's hold jumped out.
"Come here quickly!" It led them to a big tree. It looked like a normal tree, but miraculously, when it touched the tree, it went inside.
"Motimon!" Koushirou, startled, called it worriedly.
Pyocomon, who was in the front, assured Koushirou. "Don't worry! This is where baby Digimon hide when there is danger." Then it also hopped inside and disappeared.
The children, hearing this, had no choice than to follow. When Airi braced herself and walked to the tree, she was surprised that she could go inside!
"This place projected a hologram of a tree on the outside." Yamato wondered softly when he also got inside and looked around.
"Shuush! Dokugumon can still hear us, be quiet." Motimon warned.
They all waited while crouching in the tree. Another round of footsteps ran past them. From the sound, it looked like this Dokugumon was bigger than their Digimon. They waited until there were no more footsteps heard from outside.
"Is it done?" Takeru whispered.
Slowly, Motimon popped out it's head outside to look around.
"It looks like now we're safe." Motimon said.
They all sighed with relief.
"EEEEEK Spider!!" Mimi screamed loudly while jumping from her place.
"Mimi, what's wrong?!" Tanemon asked worriedly.
"There's spider on my shoulder just now!"
Airi had a bad feeling. While looking around where they were crouching, she found not only one, but multiple spider on the floor.
"Above you!" Taichi called suddenly. When they looked above, they were scared by how many spiders were there on the inside of the tree.
"They are Kodokugumon! Run to the outside!" Motimon shouted.
"KYAAAA!" Mimi, who ran first to the outside, screamed. They found out why when they all went outside.
An enormous spider, as big as a cow, with yellow and black pattern, waited for them outside of the tree. There were hundreds of smaller spiders on its body, and more that surrounded the tree.
"This is Dokugumon?" Yamato paled. He hurriedly hid Takeru behind him.
"Onii-chan!" Takeru called out from behind Yamato with red eyes, scared.
"It looks like Dokugumon had summoned its offspring, Kodokugumon to search for us." Motimon said worriedly.
"I'm scared. What kind of monster is this?" Sora said with her legs trembling.
Airi felt faint. She had never been in this kind of danger before.
What should they do?!
