Chapter 32 - New Ally

The ominous warning from Eryx still lingered in the air, and Ares knew that he was right. The khragixx was a dark and malevolent force that had been locked away for a reason. And now, Roman planned to unleash it upon the world, using the other faes as sacrifices.

Roman's plan was to use the ancient ritual to break the seals that held the khragixx captive. The ritual required the life force of multiple faes, which would amplify the dark magic and shatter the seals. With the khragixx unleashed, Roman would cause unimaginable danger over the World.

As Eryx listened to their proposal, his expression remained unreadable, but his eyes seemed to bore into their very souls. After a moment of silence, he spoke, his voice low and commanding.

"I will hear more about this Roman and the threat he poses. You are guests in our kingdom, and you will be treated as such. But know this: the dragons of Azov Kingdom will not be swayed by empty words or promises. We will need to see proof of your claims and the strength of your resolve."

With a wave of his hand, the guards stepped aside, and a servant appeared, bowing low. "Take our guests to the guest quarters. They will be provided with food, drink, and rest. We will speak again soon."

As they followed the servant, Eris whispered "What do you think? Will they join us?"

Aaron's eyes locked onto Eryx's retreating back, his expression thoughtful. "I'm not sure, but I think we're one step closer to finding out."

The group followed the servant through the winding corridors, their footsteps echoing off the stone walls. As they walked, they couldn't help but feel that they were being watched, and this time they knew it's not an ally.

Their quarters were lavish, with plush furnishings and a feast spread out before them. But as they sat down to eat, Ares's eyes narrowed. "I don't trust this. Something feels off."

Isabelle's gaze met his, her voice low. "I agree. Let's keep our guard up. We don't know what we're dealing with here."

As they ate and strategized, the shadows outside their quarters seemed to grow longer, as if the kingdom itself was watching and waiting...Ares stood up and excused himself immediately he got out of the room he headed to one particular direction, getting to his destination he saw the person he was looking for"we need to talk"ares said looking at Eryx who was in front of him.

Ares and Eryx sat down in a secluded area, the shadows cast by the trees providing a sense of privacy. Ares's expression was grim as he filled Eryx in on Roman's plan.

"We can't let him do it, Eryx," Ares said, his voice low and urgent. "If Roman frees the khragixx, it'll be catastrophic. We need to stop him before it's too late."

Eryx's expression was unreadable, but Ares knew him well enough to sense the underlying tension. "What's the plan, Ares?" Eryx asked, his voice neutral.

Ares hesitated, unsure of how to proceed. "I'm not sure yet. But we need to gather our allies and come up with a solid plan to stop Roman. We can't face him alone."

Eryx nodded thoughtfully, his eyes narrowing as he considered their options. "I'll talk to some people, see what I can dig up. But Ares, you know Roman's not going to go down without a fight. We'll need to be prepared for anything."

Ares clenched his fists, determination burning within him. "I'm ready for whatever it takes. We can't let Roman unleash that kind of darkness on the world."
