Ahhhh, this make me remember when malfoy told me his dumb I know.
I'm sure he would do it again if we were alone, fortunately, not for me, but for the safety of his face. I'm alone with balrow right now, and we're currently walking in the corridor, straight toward the goblin camp.
I yawn out loud, damn I'm tired already? Well it's true I didn't slept well tonight, because of...well, you know.
Don't ask about shit you already know man, that's not cool, want me to stop monologuing? No? Then don't, wait wait, we'll argue later the badass grandpa is talking.
"How do you feel Ludger?" His words are slow, but sure, as if he was relaxed and just take his time to articulate his words.
What does he mean? Usually when people ask how I feel they think I'm not doing well.
I'm doing well.
"I'm pretty fine, and you?"
He look at me, I look at him "I am good too"
We keep walking in silence for a while, before he speak again "You know I had grandchildrens" had?
Wait am I getting some lore on badass grandpa here? I look at him and nod, making it clear that I'm listening "The younger they were, the harder it was to talk with them"
Oh, that's the start of some sad lore isn't it? "I would say, it is simply a difference of generation." Balrow scratch the bottom of his chin.
"that is a lie" He suddenly make his shield appear in front of him.
He grab it midair, not that fast, he just predicted where it fell and grabbed it as it was going down, all of his movement are slow but sure.
He look at this shield, it would reflect his face if we weren't almost in full darkness "the duty of the old" he wipe his shield, like he did so much while sitting on his bed. "Is to protect the young"
We keep walking and he keep staring at the shield, like an old man reminiscing better times in his life.
"My childrens" I can hear the sound of rugged fingers sliding on the smooth surface of the shield "believed in this too" after a while he put his shield back in his inventory.
"Unfortunately, protecting, does not only concern physical harm" I give a glance at him, I can see where this is going. "Too much, they forget. An adult is here to protect from any harm" we finally reach the watch tower, but for some reason, we stop before entering.
"Heartache, sickness, tantrum. Anything" I turn my head "they forget, and I did too" he turn his head. "Ludger, if you need help it is good to ask for it."
He looks...nostalgic.
Really nostalgic.
My dad wouldn't like you Balrow.
He deserve a smile at least "I will, thanks balrow" he nod. We look at each other for a while, before moving.
The sun is slowly setting down again, I stop to look at the view for a while before we descend to the grass again.
"Why did you wanted to come?"
Balrow look at me and start walking toward the hole in the wall. "I saw some interesting things"
Same, I wonder if I can put on that armor, we both walk forward and some time later we're in the cafetaria, I look around for interesting things, but quickly conclude that there is nothing, nothing interesting at least.
But still, I try something, I put my hand onto the table and....
Yep, can't put that in my inventory for some reason.
Me and balrow continue in the corridor until he see the reason he came here, kneeling down in front of multiples crushed armor and similar, he grab one of the gauntlets and try to put it on.
"Too big?"
He nod "Annie."
I look at him "think annie can put it?"
He nod
"What about Jenna?" He think for a while "doubt it" I nod too.
"Let's take four and test it later" he put some in his inventory, and I come to his side, sitting down, I grab part of the armors, and really. Those. Those look like humans armor really, just...way smaller, it's as if they were 5'4/5'5 humans, maybe dwarfs exist too?
In any case, I grab anything I see helmets, gauntlets, anything, while we and barlow walk, I want to see something test something.
After a while we're outside again, and I see a random goblin stone, I take it [you achieved maximum capacity in your inventory]
So there is a limit.
That's sad.
I put back the stone on the ground and get up, putting my foot on it to leave [you achieved maximum capacity in your inventory] I know I wasn't trying anything else right now, I lift my foot up until I think about something.
I mean, I didn't try to put it in my inventory.
What if I did.
I grab the stone again [you achieved maximum capacity in your inventory] shut up already, I want that [you achieved maximum capacity in your inventory] you sure about it? Inventory put that shit in [you achieved maximum capacity in your inventory] sounds lik[Please do not try to exceed your inventory capacity] gotc[please get the necessary upgrades to improve your capacity] wait what? [One stone stocked in inventory] wait that wasn't[YOU EXCEEDED YOUR INVENTORY CAPACITY] [YOU EXCEEDED YOUR INVENTORY CAPACITY] [20 SECONDS BEFORE PERMANENT DAMAGE] What? [19 SECONFS BEFORE DAMAGE]
The stone is back on the ground.
I just stare ahead, waiting for another notification.
I feel bad. Like, litterally, like I runned half a marathon, and at my limit, I was forced to run again even if I couldn't, urgh, fucking horrible sensation.
2/10 wouldn't recommend.
I throw anything I grabbed since we entered the goblin camp to the ground, barlow look at me, I grimace at him "was testing something" he nod.
Fuck.
I lie down on the grass for a while to grab my head, it's pounding.
Don't mess with the inventory yet, gotcha.
Didn't it said something about improving inventory place too? So I can improve it? Good to know.
Wait didn't the refiller had a description about this too? Fuuuuck I forgot.
I look at all I took, wonder what's the exact limit of What I can take, is it weight related? Size related? Whatever else I don't understand related?
I have no idea.
Looking up, I see balrow just waiting for me without saying anything, he tend his hand, I grab it, and soon enough we're exploring the tents again, testing some things again.
I rip the walls, made of cloth from them and try to put it in my inventory.
Doesn't work.
I ball it up.
And now it enter.
So size?
I feel my spear inside the inventory. So not size?
Space maybe? I grab a pillow, it enter my inventory, I throw it away, so not space?
Maybe it's just a mix of the two?
Me and balrow explore for a while before we finally reach the broken wooden wall that encircle the goblin camp. It's well and well broken, destroyed, crushed, it looks like a rhinosceros, a giant one, came here, rushed in and destroyed anything and everything in his path without any ounce of hesitation.
The necklace on my neck feel heavy.
It was a child.
Perhaps it wasn't a rhino that passed here, perhaps it was his father, his mother, his uncle bob that love drinking, and his big sister that would commit a genocide if they learn that her baby brother got double teamed and killed brutally by two humans while he slept.
Or it was a rhino.
Who know? Not me.
I walk forward, passing over the nastiest looking broken piece of wood and...wait, I'm outside.
I look to my left, I look to my right.
There is a dirt path leading forward till hidden behind the horizon, on the right, trees hug together, brushery and greeness living in harmony to form a forest. Same forest I can probably see on my left.
I look behind, I see no one, I look at my right, balrow is here.
He look at me, he think the same. I'm sure of it, after some staring, I decide to advance first.
I take one step, expecting a system message stopping me from going forward.
I take two step, expecting some bloodthirsty orcs jumping off from the forest.
I take three steps, four, five.
I can just leave?
