I calmed myself down a little and began trying to call our neighbors, Troska-san was the same as my mother, the call ended due to some problem with the phone network, this once again increased my concern for her well-being to an abnormal level .
What kind a network problem was that, the call i had with that man even though it was short, but everything seemed to be quite normal, so what exactly was going on .
I was about to call that Man for help, but a sudden thought came to my mind, one that gave me a basic understanding on what could be going on here, this could indeed be the case, i looked at the phone in hand the one given to me by my so-called father and my previous one .
I was thinking about why the call connected without much of a problem with the other phone, but my original phone kept telling me that the service is unavailable at the moment .
Wasting no time to confirm my suspicion, i began typing our home phone number and dialed it, surprisingly the call actually got through without any problem, i was now sure that my guess was very much indeed correct, the phone that was given to me was actually better and special than the one that i originally had .
Whatever the problem that was with the phone network, it must have been the work of the school, probably trying to cut the students connection to the outside, for what reason i currently don't know, but i believe that it may be related to keeping everything that happens in the school a secret .
If that was the reason, i can totally understand it, after all things that happened here at this school, are far from being normal, so if someone were to spred words or even send pictures of what was at work here in this school, questions will arise and panic will soon follow .
Anyway, i was just happy that the call got through, i waited for mom to pick up the call, but the call ended and yet no one answered the phone .
I dialed once again and luckily this time my mom answered the phone, her tone seemed to be a bit guarded as she said " Hello ", but i knew that was her normal reaction to getting a call from an unregistered number, i was also able to notice that her breathing pattern were a bit rigid as if she was running or working out or something like that .
The moment she knew that it was me on the phone, she wasted no time and began asking about all different things, like how i was doing, did something bad happen to me, why i wasn't answering her calls, was i bullied by someone, does she need to come over to the school, whose phone was this, what happened to the old phone she brought me, how was my first day at school .
All sorts of questions were directed at me one after another, my mom concerned voice forced me to answer them throughly .
After hearing my answers about the school being great and me doing good, her worried tone began to dissipate and from time to time she sighed loudly in relief .
Then i told her about the origin of the phone i was talking to her with, telling her that it was given to me by That Man, she went silent and knowing her, i was able to discern exactly what she was thinking, so i hurriedly explained that it was the only way to talk to her, due to my old phone seeming to be malfunctioning, she then dropped the subject with " at least that Man did something good for once " .
She then once again asked me about why i wasn't answering the phone, i wanting to test something first, asked her to call my other phone number with her phone, she was skeptical about this sudden weird request at first, but then she complied to my request and dialed my original phone .
The ring of the phone sounded and i was surprised that the call actually got through, i then answered the phone, but the moment i answered the call ended, i asked my mom still in the line what happened and her part of the story was exactly the same as mine, the moment i answered the phone the call ended, so i concluded that my guess about the school behind this was very likely to be right .
My mom on the phone asked the reason for why i had told her to do this, i lied to her and told her that i was just trying to identify the malfunction in my phone and i had found it and that it won't be possible to fix it in the school, so she should register this number from now on .
She didn't mind this much, but once again she asked about the reason i wasn't answering her calls, i once again lied to her and told her that in my new school, we were asked to do a few training session and the phone wasn't allowed there and i called the moment i found about the missed calls from her, she just took my words with a grain of salt, then she asked if i had lunch .
I told her that i was just about to, another lie, but it was necessary to not worry her through the phone .
She asked me to behave well and try and make a lot of friends and that a girlfriend won't hurt my academic performance much, i was so embarrassed by her words that i almost hanged up the phone, she finally told me that she will miss me and i said that i will do too, then she wanted me to the one who will hang up first for some reason .
But after a minute, i still didn't hang up the phone, the reason was due to me feeling a bit conflicated about whether i should tell her about Urushibara Shizuno existence or just keep it to myself, she will probably stay in the dark without any way to get much information about her and that would be for the best, but i felt like she needed to know, i just can't seem to be able to form the correct words, seeing the call still going on .
My mother asked me if something was wrong, i was about to tell her but then decided not to and instead asked her about the reason for her delay of answering as that worried me a bit, she said that she was talking a nap to calm her frustrated mind about me not answering her calls, i apologized and asked her about her condition now, she said that she was now fine, then just as i was about to end the call .
My mom surprised me with a question that i didn't have an answer for, she asked me if i was hiding something from her, her intuition was as keen as always, luckily we were now talking on the phone, if we were face to face, i would have told her everything that happened, but luckily that wasn't the case .
Even though i felt a bit troubled due to hiding something like that from here, i strengthened my resolve by thinking that it was for her own good and it wasn't like i had no intention of telling her or anything like that in the future, but that will have to wait for when the time is right .
Even though i consider myself to be the least hurt from this new piece of information, i was still a bit troubled by it, only a little bit, but the same can't be said about my mother .
Even though she had already forgot about him, the time of birth of my allegedly half-sister would probably reopen old wounds for her, it might be even devastating due to the fact that we both were of the same age, meaning that while That Man already had a wife and his wife was expecting, he was having an affair with another woman .
So that was why i decided not to tell her about this at least not now when i can't even monitor her reaction and console her, in this way i would also have enough time to talk with this new half-sister and gauge what her intentions in approaching me like this were, did she do it voluntarily or she was asked to do so by that Man .
" Dear, you still there " .
The urging voice of my mother brought me back from my trance, if i tried to deny that i was indeed hiding something, she will become certain that i indeed hide something, so instead of denying it, i will just provide an answer that will satisfy her suspicion while keeping what i want to hide hidden .
I told her with a bit of a fake dejected tone that the food her was much worse than her cooking, which pleased her so much that i began to hear her chuckling voice echoing in the house through the phone .
I said my goodbyes and my mom responded by reminding me to call before sleep, i promised to do so and hanged up the phone .
I laid down back on the infirmary bed and wondered whether was what i did really was a good choice or not, i was also wondering about the actual reason to why a woman descending from such a strong household agree to marry that bastard of a guy .
Is being an A Rank Savior really be that great, or did she really fell in love with him, i really can't wrap my head around this .

A sudden deep snore from the neighbor next to me, had me jump from the bed in wariness, seeing that it was only the snoring of the senpai next to me, i loosened my guard a bit and decided that my body seemed to have rested enough, i was once again grateful for who ever brought my school uniform here .
I looked around cautiously as if to check if there were cameras installed anywhere here, after making sure that there wasn't any cameras, i removed my training uniform and put on my school one, i checked my pocket and found my ID Tag i sighed in relief then i began to head out, at the door i saw a note written by what i presumed to be a feminine handwriting hanged on the back of the closed door, it said :
Just wanted to tell you that there is no need for you to go back to the training arena, all the Slayers had already retired for the day, i'm really looking forward to work with you, Ryuu-kun, you are really a good man .

For some reason i felt like being violated, i didn't like that feeling one bit, i didn't remember seeing the vice captain, or maybe she was there, but i hadn't had the chance to meet her just yet, what a ' unique ' woman, but does that mean that i was accepted into the corps, that's a relief .
I was just about to open the door when i suddenly felt a vibration in my pocket, someone had just sent me a message, but who, my Mom did she forget to tell me something .
I wanted to hurry up and go to the male hostel wanting to both relive my hunger and settle down, i was quite famished, i opened the new phone that i will be using from now on, and found that the phone number of the sender was nothing that i'm familiar with, i only have two contacts registered, but what surprised me the most was that i actually found this contact also registered under the name Urushibara Shizuno .
I'm quite sure that i didn't give her my original number, not to mention my new one, so that could only mean that it was registered even before i was giving the phone, what a headache .
I opened the massage and saw that it was actually a very blunt and direct request for us to meet, i thought about it for a few seconds then replied to her positively and asked where did she want us to meet .
A few seconds later, another massage came telling me to meet her at the cafeteria at the hostel, i didn't expect her to suggest meeting there, but i nonetheless rejoiced her picking this place, i will finally be able to quench my hunger .
I once again replied telling her that i will be there in a few minutes, she didn't continue to send any more massages, even though i barley know her, but i can quite tell that she was a girl of a few words to say .
I made my way to the hostel cafeteria, i got in the row of those waiting for food and got served my meal for the day, some veggies, a balanced meal consist of beef and rice, i searched for her in the crowds, but saw that she was nowhere in sight, so i picked a bit secluded table on the back and sat there and began to dig in my food .
I was feeling bad about criticizing the food without even trying it, but now i feel much better, my conscience won't be reprimanding me anymore, the food prepared here was really much worse than the food my mom cooked .
But it was food nonetheless, i went for another serve, then a third one, devouring all that i got my hands on, i was surprised at how hungry i was, even after finishing the third serve of food, i was still feeling hungry, something was very wrong here, but i went and got a fourth serve, the lady serving the food looked at me with a bit of fear .
Her hands were even shaking as she handed me another serve of food, i went back to my seat and once again began to devour the food in front of me while wondering how much food will be enough to satisfy my hunger .
I was so focused on eating, that i didn't even notice that someone had already sat opposite of me until i finished eating .
But it wasn't completely my fault, after all she didn't even utter a single word to alert me to her presence, even after i sensed that someone were sitting opposite to me, i paid not much attention to it and continue eating .
But if i had known that it was Urushibara Shizuno who had silently taking a seat in front of me, i would have at least stopped eating like a starving ghost .
After i finished eating, i was going for another serve of food, but when i raised my head from my plate, i finally noticed the familiar blank complexion that i met this morning, the icy complexion of my allegedly half-sister throw away all my thoughts about continuing my meal, doing a great favor to the lady serving the food .
I stared at her and she stared at me, but even though she had a blank expression on her face, i was able to see that she was conflicated just like me, at least i presumed that, but other than the staring contest we were having, both of us hadn't even said a word, both waiting for the other side to be the one doing the talking .
