Chapter 99 - Tony's Superpower, Prison Overhaul

"What's with that expression? Huh, wait, Infinite Stamina? That Ability seems pretty good."

Pepper thought of something, her eyes lit up, then she gave Tony a look, utterly improper.

Pepper said, "Tony, let's make a deal. If you get kidnapped again, or face life-threatening danger again, you'll give up being a Super Hero."

"Uh, how about three times? Alright, there won't be a next time."

Tony chose to agree, and Pepper breathed a sigh of relief. She said, "Now, let's talk about the company. The company's situation isn't good lately. Someone on the board of directors suggested selling the weapon research and development department, since it's not being used anyway."

"Absolutely not! The weapon research and development department was left to me by Howard. I won't be a prodigal son."

Tony shook his head repeatedly. Pepper said, "Tony, we need some way to stabilize the stock price."

"Small matter."

Tony said confidently, "I'm going to sell an Iron Man Suit to the military and establish other collaborations with them. That way, our stock price will recover."

Pepper was startled: "You're willing to sell an Armor now?"

"I'm selling it to Rhode. I owe him a War Machine."

Tony said, "The world is becoming increasingly dangerous. I need some helpers."

"If that's the case, then there's no need to sell the weapon research and development department. Tony, I'll handle this."

Pepper said with great enthusiasm. At this moment, she remembered something and warned, "Tony, stop investing in Dr. Reed. Someone told me that no one who invested in Dr. Reed ever came to a good end. That's why Rebirth Group didn't invest in Dr. Reed back then."

"Pepper, when did you become so unscientific? Rebirth Group... Uh, that guy from Rebirth Group is very unscientific."

Tony said, "In any case, I don't believe in that. Although this time's losses were heavy, and even the Space Station was completely destroyed, if there's a chance in the future, I'll still continue to invest in Dr. Reed."

"Even angels have appeared, isn't it normal for fate to exist?"

Pepper said, "I heard S.H.I.E.L.D. is preparing to invest in Dr. Reed. Let's wait and see."

...

Three days later, at night, Isolated Island Prison.

John Garrett arrived outside Mystique's room and asked, "Mystique, you called for me?"

"Yes, I called for you."

Mystique, still tightly bound, said to Garrett, "John Garrett, I called you here to thank you for taking care of me all these days."

Garrett keenly sensed something was wrong. He put his hand on the gun at his waist and sneered, "Just you? Mystique, don't force me to torture you."

"Not just me, but Magneto."

Mystique sneered. Garrett was shocked. Had something happened on Magneto's side? Just then, the terrified shouts of a guard came from the communicator: "Magneto has broken out of the glass prison!"

That's right, Magneto had broken out of the glass plastic enclosure. How did he break out? Very simply, with an iron bookmark.

Isolated Island Prison had a Mutant whose Ability was matter conversion, for example, converting stone into gold. However, it could only last for two hours—he was arrested by S.H.I.E.L.D. for using fake gold to scam people.

Mystique coordinated with the scamming Mutant through mental communication. While eating, the scamming Mutant secretly put discarded iron pieces given to him by others into his pocket.

Then, the scamming Mutant went to the library, turned the discarded iron pieces into paper bookmarks, and clipped them into a book. This book would be delivered to Magneto an hour later.

Perhaps some people are curious? Why can Mutant move freely in Isolated Island Prison and even go to the library to read?

The reason is simple: Professor Charles fought for them. The Professor couldn't bear to see Mutant constantly locked in cells and requested S.H.I.E.L.D. to give them some freedom and entertainment.

S.H.I.E.L.D. needed help from X-Men, so they didn't refuse the Professor's request. They converted Isolated Island Prison into a regular area and a high-security area.

The high-security area held Mutant with more serious crimes and more powerful Abilities. They had no activity time and were always confined to their cells; even their meals were specially delivered by guards.

Criminals in the regular area were relatively freer; they could eat together, chat, play chess, go to the library to read, etc.—all non-strenuous, space-saving activities.

Of course, it was limited to that. Isolated Island Prison was different from ordinary prisons; the benefits found in regular prisons simply weren't available here.

Magneto flipped through a book in his cell for a while, and the bookmark turned back into a discarded iron piece. And so, the slaughter began.

Garrett shouted in shock and anger, "Immediately disconnect the plastic corridor, sink the glass prison to the bottom of the sea! Also, send an alarm to S.H.I.E.L.D., a top-level alarm!"

The guard was about to press the button when an iron piece shot through the glass door and plunged into his head. He fell down with an expression of disbelief.

The other few guards were terrified and turned to flee. At this moment, iron pieces flew out and slit their throats.

Immediately after, iron pieces shattered the plastic door, and Magneto strode into Isolated Island Prison. The entire prison trembled simultaneously, as if in fear of his arrival.

Ah!

The screams from the communicator made Garrett feel as if he had fallen into an ice cellar. As he fled towards the helipad, he shouted, "Magneto has escaped! Activate the self-destruct mechanism!"

Because the prison was full of high-security prisoners and Mutant, plus many unspeakable secrets, S.H.I.E.L.D. had placed a self-destruct mechanism in the prison, which, once activated, would sink the entire prison to the bottom of the sea.

Just then, there was a commotion from behind. Garrett turned to look, and the iron door outside Mystique's room was forcefully torn off by a powerful force. Immediately after, the iron door slammed twice, sending two guards flying, and then pressed down towards Garrett.

Although Garrett tried his best to dodge, he was still heavily slammed to the ground by the iron door. Then, Mystique walked out of the room, stepping on the iron door with her foot, and said to Garrett with a smile, "I've come to thank you, Garrett."

Garrett's heart sank. He knew he was finished.

At the same time, inside the secret room, two guards were about to activate the self-destruct mechanism when suddenly, iron wires from nearby wrapped around their necks, hoisting them high into the air.

Magneto sneered. In this metal prison, he was a god.

It's worth mentioning that the reason Magneto could control metal outside his line of sight so precisely was because Scanner was helping him—projecting the situation inside the prison into Magneto's mind.

"My fellow countrymen, you are free."

Magneto raised his hands, and numerous prison cell iron doors were destroyed. Mutant prisoners and high-security prisoners rushed out of their cells, excitedly pouncing on the guards.

Toad tackled a guard to the ground, opened his mouth, and sprayed his face with acid. Then, he roared viciously at the screaming guard, "I told you, you'd come to a bad end!"

Sabretooth punched a guard flying, yelling excitedly, full of delight. The other Mutant were the same; they had not been treated well by the guards during this time.

Sloan snatched a guard's gun, and with a bang, a bullet arced through the air, taking the lives of three guards.

The entire Isolated Island Prison descended into chaos. Facing Mutant prisoners with diverse Abilities and various high-security prisoners, the guards were no match. Many guards tried to escape, but whether by submarine or plane, they were all controlled remotely by Magneto.

Isolated Island Prison completely fell in a short time, and over a thousand high-security prisoners and Mutant regained their freedom.
