Sally's POV
The door shuts with a quiet click, leaving us wrapped in silence once more. This quiet feels different than before, gentler somehow, though still weighted with unspoken fears. Juliette lifts her gaze to mine, her words coming out in a whisper so soft I have to lean closer to hear them.
"Sally, what's happening inside me?"
My throat tightens. How do I explain something that defies explanation? The bond is something you have to experience to truly understand, and even then, it takes time to make sense of the chaos it brings. Those early days flash through my memory, the confusion and overwhelming emotions that made me question my own sanity.
"I wish I had easy answers for you, but I don't. What I can tell you is that this intensity you're feeling right now, it won't last forever. The first few days are the worst. I spent them crying and convinced I was losing my grip on reality until I finally stopped trying to fight what was happening."
