Sally's POV
Concentrating on work today feels impossible when my thoughts keep spiraling in every direction. Instead of completing tasks, I find myself constantly battling to silence the chaos in my head about hunters, mystical bonds, and these mysterious Moon Children.
After we finish dinner, I carry Warren upstairs for bedtime, reading him an extra story tonight to compensate for missing one yesterday. Once he finally falls asleep, I make my way back down to the main floor.
Something feels different about the house tonight.
Karl sits hunched over the dining table, his forearms pressed against the wooden surface. Philip stands against the nearby wall with his arms crossed, his face blank but his eyes alert and focused.
Both Sean and Ajax occupy chairs, their attention locked on the weathered man sitting across from them.
Jackson.
"Luna," he greets me quietly, offering a respectful nod.
"Good to see you again, Jackson," I respond with a smile, settling into an empty chair.
