Karl's POV
The silence in the house feels heavy, broken only by the distant sound of water cascading from the upstairs shower. Sally vanished into the bathroom moments ago, her delighted laughter from training still ringing in my ears. But it's not her joy that has my wolf restless and prowling beneath my skin. It's the way she moved out there.
I knew she was quick, but what I witnessed today transcends simple speed or natural reflexes. The precision with which she anticipated and deflected every attack before any of us could even make contact. And whatever the hell occurred between her and Philip during that final exchange.
