Chapter 10 - Starfeather Sedan

One day, after finishing his usual afternoon mental training, Anvis was idly flipping through the Luminous Chronicle, having lost count of how many times he had read it.

Suddenly, the sound of footsteps broke his quiet.

"Master, the Marquis requests you come to the Star Observatory Hall," Leonard said, his voice calm and emotionless, coming from behind Anvis.

"All right, I understand," Anvis replied, standing up and following Leonard to the observatory hall.

Upon entering, Anvis saw it quietly resting in the center—

the Starfeather Sedan.

"This is the result of your efforts, manifested into this Starfeather Sedan," the Marquis said, slowly turning to face Anvis.

The sedan emitted a very soft hum, like moonlight vibrating—gentle and almost imperceptible, yet resonating deep in the chest.

"Place your hand anywhere you like. The rest of the steps, your teacher should have taught you."

Anvis reached out and lightly touched the body of the sedan.

In that instant, the flowing lights on the sedan's surface paused. Countless tiny patterns, as if awakened from deep within the vehicle, spread along his fingertips. The air trembled slightly, and the platform produced a faint resonance, like an ancient instrument being slowly plucked.

Anvis closed his eyes, letting his mental energy flow like an invisible thread into the sedan. The sensation was cold and vast, as if probing a sea just waking from slumber. Endless mechanical structures, energy pulses, and mental-energy arrays flashed in his mind. A faint consciousness stirred within.

—Recognition in progress…—Mental waves conform to control protocol detected.—Binding in progress…

A series of ancient voices echoed in his mind—not mechanical, but like some sentient presence whispering.

Then the light along the sedan suddenly brightened.

A delicate silver mark appeared on its body, forming a ring around his palm before slowly fading, leaving only a faint imprint in his mental space.

He opened his eyes, calm as ever, yet feeling the subtle resonance between his body and the sedan—like a heartbeat echoing in rhythm with each other.

The Marquis looked at Anvis with a faint hint of admiration, gradually retracting his own mental energy.
