Chapter 11 - First Hunt

Marquis Carlen stepped back half a pace, watching Anvis calmly enter the Starwing Sedan.

"Owner detected entering the Keller. Monitoring mental wave intensity and stability."

"Synchronization rate at 92%, permission to initiate granted."

Anvis sat in the pilot seat of the Starwing Sedan, lowered the system volume to the minimum, and then spoke:

"Check energy pulse charge status. Scan for D-rank or lower beasts."

"At your command."

The Keller's system responded, beginning to execute the tasks assigned by Anvis.

"All systems ready. Initiate startup?"

Less than half a minute later, the system spoke again.

"Start."

The vehicle's light wings began to vibrate gently, silver-blue light flowing along each feather, like ripples on the sea stirred by a gentle breeze. Anvis felt a subtle resonance from the soles of his feet, as if the heartbeat of the vehicle had synchronized with his own breathing.

"Keller, ascend," Anvis said softly.

The runes inside the cabin flickered with soft light, each pulse responding to his will. The air seemed to ripple with invisible force. The sedan hovered slightly, a faint hum echoing within, reminiscent of an ancient instrument being gently plucked.

He closed his eyes, letting his mental energy flow along threads of consciousness through every circuit in the sedan. The vibration of the wings accelerated, the silver-blue light cascading like a river of stars. The vehicle lifted gently from the ground, hovering a few centimeters above it. Slight currents moved within the cabin, and the surrounding air shimmered with energy disturbances.

"Begin propulsion." Anvis thought, directing mental energy from the core to each light wing. The sedan emitted a low, soft hum. Streams of light began to rotate around the cabin, forming a semi-transparent energy shield, and the sedan drifted upward, gradually gaining speed.

As the altitude increased, tiny vibrations inside the vehicle amplified into continuous resonances. He sensed every energy pathway stretching through the sedan, and the air seemed to be sliced into flowing light with each breath, perfectly synchronized with the vehicle's rhythm. He opened his eyes; the silver-blue wings shone brightly, illuminating the entire cabin and reflecting his focused, calm expression.

The sedan gradually rose over ten meters from the ground. Energy waves created faint ripples in the surroundings, flags and curtains fluttering as if even the air responded to the Starwing Sedan's ascent. Anvis's fingers twitched, fine-tuning each wing's angle with mental energy. The sedan remained rock-steady, silver-blue light weaving with the flowing air, exuding an almost sacred serenity.

"Lock on target," Anvis said quietly. On the virtual display ahead, several light projections appeared, simulating agile prey moving in the air. The sedan's sensing system instantly tracked the prey's tiniest changes, each directional shift relayed directly to his consciousness.

Anvis adjusted his breathing slightly. The silver-blue wings extended along both sides of the sedan, light flowing like a river. The vehicle glided forward slowly, air sliced by the wings creating invisible ripples, a subtle hum resonating through his chest. He lightly touched the control panel; with minimal thought, he could adjust altitude and angle, perfectly matching the prey's movements.

The prey veered sharply to the left. The sedan tilted in response, as if body and vehicle were one. Anvis felt micro-vibrations from the air rubbing against the wings, like fingers brushing water. Every course correction caused the silver-blue light to flicker subtly, and the resonance between the vehicle and his mental energy grew increasingly natural.

As the prey accelerated, the wings' energy surged. The sedan traced an elegant arc through the air, the hum deepening into a rich tone. Anvis focused on the display, mental energy extending like threads, conveying every motion precisely to the Keller.

The sedan dove suddenly, silver-blue light flashing along the wing edges. Air was cut into subtle electric currents. The prey made its final escape attempt, but the sedan adjusted tilt with precision, micro-thruster pulses guiding it smoothly through the air like a fish in water.

Finally, the prey was "captured," enveloped in the sedan's light streams. The vehicle hovered gently, wings retracting slowly, the hum fading. Anvis opened his eyes, calm and collected, feeling the subtle aftereffects of his nerves activated by the resonance of his mental energy and the vehicle's movements.
