The next few days passed in a strange, comfortable rhythm — at least outside the mansion.
Inside… well, that was a different story.
But first, Daniel.
Surprisingly, he texted. Not the boring, predictable kind of texts like "hey" or "wyd." Nope. Daniel texted like he was narrating an audiobook of his life.
Daniel: "Emma, you will NOT believe this. I tried to record a new track and my neighbour's kid decided to start learning the drums at that exact moment. Destiny is against me."
I laughed so loudly I scared myself.
Then he'd send a selfie of him making a dramatic crying face.
Then another message complaining about how his guitar string broke "without emotional warning."
He was goofy. Dramatic. Soft. And honestly… refreshing.
Katie was the happiest out of all of us.
She acted like she was shipping us in her head already.
