Erin, Haley' best friend, was in the middle of a desert somewhere digging for ancient things used by ancient people. To Haley, that sounded incredibly boring, but archaeology was Erin's passion and she loved her job.
So Haley at least could be happy for her in that regard.
But because her job often needed her to be in the middle of nowhere digging in places where people of the past lived. That meant that getting into contact with her best friend could often be a nightmare. But even so, the two of them had worked out a system. There were certain times during the day, in the location that Erin was in, when the network coverage was exceptionally good.
