At the principal office,
"This can't go on! Zen Shigaraki gives off a pressure similar to those hunters, who give up on hero career and make hunting monsters their whole life!"
Kail didn't hold back his suppressed emotions at all.
"The students will never be able to focus properly with him in that room. And! I smell blood from him, it's almost as if he had bathed in blood before coming here!" Kail felt the situation was just too much.
The principal, who was a slightly chubby man, with gray hair - shook his head.
"What a student does outside of our premises doesn't fall into our authority and...." The principal sighed to himself, this sudden transfer was forced onto him out of nowhere too.
"We can't act arbitrarily. This is a decision the hero association decided on after hearing a famous psychiatrist's recommendation. Student Zen was requested to move away from Tokyo, where he might have had a traumatizing experience."
The hero association had taken a huge blow after a whole city was destroyed in broad daylight. They couldn't even provide the basic protection that the masses required of them.
Zen Shigaraki being the only survivor, they had to focus on him to slightly alleviate their image. Hence, they gave Zen strong preference after making sure he wasn't the cause of the 'Demolition incident'.
"But...."
Kail still didn't give up, it was a matter that affected his whole class.
"Let it be, Kail. We can decide after watching the ranking battle, I will make an exception for him if he can achieve a high rank." The principal said seriously.
"Understood." Kail bowed his head.
...
Back on the training ground, Which was marked and separated into multiple fighting stages - Zen stood in one corner with a small smile.
Watching from the corner of his eyes, Chae Nayun could be seen walking towards him. Her emotions seem to have won against her body's warning of approaching him.
"Hey! You seem quite confident in yourself. I will definitely defeat you!" Chae Nayun said resolutely, ignoring all her friends who wore frightened expressions.
'Oh? She must have taken my contempt for the class as an insult. On a closer look, she really is cute even when angry.' Zen controlled his hand, which almost twitched to caress Nayun's cheek.
Zen Shigaraki returned a calm smile, his voice dry: "The current you can't defeat me. I will never lose."
Chae Nayun's body froze, Zen spoke almost as if his words were the law.
"You...!"
Ignoring the sound of her teeth grinding, Zen closed his eyes slowly in boredom. He knew the current Chae Nayun's situation and her runaway mindset - if he still lost to someone who ran away from a fear of fighting close range with flesh and blood - Zen would be disappointed in himself.
Zen Shigaraki's ego refused to let him even play with the idea of losing. He has never lost till now and he was resolute on keeping it that way.
Chae Nayun was the first thing that Zen had decided to make his own, after arriving in this world. A prized possession above other things, he couldn't wait to get his hand on her.
He wanted to make her think only about him.
He wanted her to only look at him
- He wanted to be the only solace of her life.
Zen's focus turned elsewhere as he heard murmurs.
A big chart was posted on the training field's display screen. All the students and their opponents were listed on it - Zen's first battle was against a random girl from another section in the final year.
Since the training field was separated into six battle stages, Zen's first match came faster than expected.
The opponent girl seemed to be frozen as Zen entered the stage. Cold sweat dripped down her chin, eyes refusing to leave the floor.
"The next match between Zen Shigaraki and Lyz Surtur begins!" The referee announced before stepping back.
'Why can't I move...?' Lyz tried to harden her resolve but to no use. She was a foreign student and she needed good results to keep an image.
Even though her mind felt sluggish, she was supposed to be the brightest mind in the final year. No matter what she did, there was only one word in her mind - Defeat.
She wouldn't be able to win against the monster before her. She could already imagine her death the moment she moved.
Looking at the girl who was almost convulsing, Zen smiled with joy - his sadistic side rising up.
Nevertheless....
"....what a waste of time."
Lyz's body started to convulse for real as Zen raised his hand towards her.
[Air cannon]!
"Ahhh.....!" Her scream was drawn out as her body flew out of the stage, leaving behind a slight trail of blood.
The [Air cannon] had grown stronger after evolving to grade 8. If Zen had aimed for her head, she might have just died depending on luck.
"...hkk! The winner is Zen Shigaraki." The referee moved towards Lyz quickly.
Walking out of the battle stage, Zen contemplated while resting in a corner again.
'That Lyz girl seems to be an alchemist from the equipment she was carrying. It makes me remember about doctor from MHA. I will need someone like him in this world too.' Zen gazed at Lyz Surtur as she was being taken away in a stretcher.
'I sensed a gift in her, though it's still not awakened....I will watch her carefully to see if she can be used.' Zen felt he could collect some useful followers even in this hero military school.
After going through another two fights, which couldn't even be considered a battle.
At the third battle, Zen Shigaraki picked up his opponent into the air while gripping his throat roughly.
The boy stared at Zen with a terrified expression, Zen's cold smile made chill rise through him.
"Ughhh!" Unlike the prior opponents, the boy had managed to fight by firing a few spells at Zen, which were easily blasted away with [Air cannon].
Zen activated [All for one] on the boy, who hadn't awakened it fully yet. A hole appeared in the middle of his palm and red particles began stirring around it.
- [Fire's will: Enhances the strength of fire type attacks by X2] [Passive type] [mid-intermediate] [Static]
Looking at the new gift, Zen let go of the boy who was struggling to breath and kicked him out of the stage.
'A good gift...I was expecting an ability focused on manipulating fire, seeing his strong fire magic - but this is a amazing support type gift too.'
Having not awakened, the boy didn't even know if he possessed a gift, so Zen taking it would most likely never be found out.
"...What did you do?" Chae Nayun looked at Zen with a scowl. She had seen all his matches, he destroyed all his opponents with devastating attacks. It didn't match well with her righteous disposition at all.
This time it was a little different in the third round, Zen seems to have used a weird red colour attack, which made the opponent frightened?
'We can't match well right now, so... just wait for me, Nayun.'
"...Nothing much, just a little trick." Zen continued leisurely.
[Semi finals! The match up are! - Kim Horak vs Zen Shigaraki and Chae Nayun vs Kim Suho!]
'Hmm, a let down. I can't beat some obedience into Chae Nayun. Well, I can still win over her attention by beating up Kim Suho later.'
Ignoring the dissatisfied Nayun, Zen walked towards the battle stage.
