Chapter 6 - CH 6 Ryan in pain

Ryan laid on his bed looking up to the ceiling. The only thing on his mind was his sister. He had missed her, but he hurt her. He could still remember her words ringing in his ears when they were about to leave

"I'll come back, brother" she had said "And this time, it won't take too long for me. I won't wait for two centuries, neither a decade nor half"

He had protested against it, but she was too adamant. Zayden also loved the idea, though sometimes he behaves like he didn't care. Between both siblings, Zayden visited him the most. At least four times in every century. They loved him, not minding that he was a half breed. But he's hurting them and it hurts him too. He couldn't change how cold he is now, but maybe having his siblings around would lighten him up, until the day the curse would be broken.

Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months, and months became three years. Layana kept to her word. She visited that year. Ryan was happy but he never showed it. Instead, he questioned her visit, and she had the best way to change the topic.

"Ms.Jung have served lunch " she said "Let's go down and eat"

"I asked a question, Yana" he frowned "Why are you here?"

"I already told you. It won't take me half a decade to come visit." She smiled "Now let's go" she pulled him towards the dinning room. He really missed eating with her so he said nothing.

"What about Zayden?" He asked

"He went out with Mr. Park. I don't know where they went." Layana replied

She opened the dish and saw the mouthwatering delicacy Zariel had made. Rice with fish soup and pork belly. Including some vegetables. She licked her lips as she began serving.

"Wow! This smells so nice" she exclaimed. "I can't wait to taste it"

Amaya hurriedly packed her stuffs when So-hyeon came towards her.

"You're leaving now?" She asked

"Yes" Amaya answered "I have to pick Ari from school. I don't want her to wait too long."

"Alright, go now" So-hyeon patted her back.

"Thank you "Amaya said and she headed out. Once she was out she stopped. She couldn't bring her legs to move but she had no idea why. She was supposed to cross to the other side, and the road seemed clear. But why isn't she moving?

A boy had his headphone on his head as he crossed the road, with his head lowered. A lorry was approaching in full speed. A second ago the road was empty, and now there's a lorry?. Amaya's eyes shot wide. The man kept horning but the boy never heard. The man couldn't stop because there was another lorry behind and if he stops without notice, they'll both crash.

Amaya noticed the boy didn't notice the vehicle nor heard the horns. When she was about to speak an old lady shouted.

"Hey! Move away or you'll get hit!"

But still, he didn't hear that. But from the corner of his eyes he noticed something coming. He lifted his head and saw the vehicle. Fear gripped him. He couldn't move, his eyes widely open. The next thing Amaya could hear was a screech and then bang! The boy went flying and people screamed. What just happened?

"Someone help! He's loosing a lot of blood! Help please!"

Everyone gathered around the boy who laid in his blood. The vehicles had stopped and everyone came down. Some tried first aid while others called 911.

*....*....*.....*...*...*.....*.....*.....*.....*.....* Ryan was eating the tasty dish while listening to Layana's tales. He couldn't help but smile.

Then, his ear rang distant echoes. He shook his head and Layana thought he was saying no to what she had asked.

"No? Why?"

The sound came even louder and Ryan turned red. He covered his left ear with his hand and supported it with the other. Layana noticed something was wrong.

"Brother, are you....." before she could complete her speech, Ryan fell to the floor of his knees. The chair falling as well. His hand still covered his ear and the sound grew even worse. Invisible daggers pierced his heart, beads of sweat formed on his forehead, his whole face was red. The felt his insides tearing apart. His throat was tight, he couldn't find air and he was suffocating. He held unto his chest, squeezing it. He wanted to shout, he wanted to scream, but all that came out was painful growls.

Layana was scared, she crouched to his level, panicked.

"Brother, what's wrong? Are you okay?"

Tears formed in Ryan's eyes. His heart ached so much he couldn't bare the pain. The veins in his neck and face were already popping out.

"Ms. Jung!" Layana called on the top of her voice and Zariel came rushing out like she was being chased.

"What's happening to my brother?" she asked.

Ryan closed his eyes shut and when he opened them, his dark brown eyes turned golden. At first, Zariel was trying to process the question, but when she saw Ryan's golden eyes, she gasped.

"Princess, you have to move a far distance away from young master" Zariel said

"Why? He's hurting can't you see?"

"I can see that but you have to move away" she pleaded.

Ryan's claws came out and his canines elongated into sharp wicked fangs. All while he growled. That moment, Zayden and Leonel walked in, shocked at the commotion.

"What's happening here?" Zayden asked.

"Please I beg you, move away" Zariel was still pleading.

"I can't do that" Layana was stubborn "Call the physician or whatever you guys call it"

"Princess, listen to me, you have to...."

Before Layana knew it, her back hit against the wall few metres away and she fell to her face. What had happened?

That moment, everyone saw Ryan disappear.
