"You want me to invest in Doshin and I want in return is her" he clarified, pointing at Arianna. Their hearts came down a bit.
"But Mr..."
"Well if you won't give her to me then fine, you can keep her . This meeting is off as I have important things I have to attend to" Ryan said, heading for the door.
"Don't let him get away. Just give her away and get this money " Yoo Na spoke in one breath, in a whisper.
"But..."
"Don't let this opportunity get away or else I'll be your doom in this house" she warned.
Without a second thought..."Mr. Han" he called and Ryan stopped in his tracks "You can take her if you want" he said.
Ryan was shocked. Wasn't she their daughter? Or was he that greedy to give away their daughter without asking what she would do for him?
Ryan smirked "I'll be expecting her in my residence the day after tomorrow. After that we can talk about building Doshin, since we are now partners. For a period of time"
Do-hyun's lips stretched into a smile "Thank you so much, Mr. Han"
"It's nice doing business with you, Mr...."
"Mr. Baek. Baek Do-hyun " he said.
"Of course " Ryan grinned. But his eyes still retained that cold, deathly look.
With that, they turned around and left. Both Yoo Na and Do-hyun bowed until the car drove away.
"I'm so happy. Finally, we'll become CEOs" Yoo Na exclaimed.
"Yes, I'm happy as well "
"It's a good thing we kept that girl until this time. She's a good asset"
"But what does he want her for?" Do-hyun was a bit curious.
"Why do you care? He could make her a maid in his house." Yoo Na said "Finally I won't get to see her face each day that reminds you of my sister."
"But honey, she's my...."
"Don't you dare " she cut him off "Don't you dare say that word else you wouldn't like me. Don't ruin this happy mood of mine."
Do-hyun knew better to shut up. He does want Yoo Na's troubles. But what really does Mr. Han want her for?
Leonel drove the car towards him mansion, wanting to drop Ryan first before heading to the company. He couldn't understand why he suddenly wanted a woman. What side of the bed did he wake up today?
He kept taking glances of Ryan from the rearview mirror, wondering what he'll do with the girl. Ryan whose eyes were on his phone said "Why are you looking at me?"
Leonel totally forgot he could feel it. Well he has to reply or else Ryan would make him. Which wasn't a good option.
"Y-Young master, if I may ask, why do you need that girl?"
"I don't know " Ryan replied. Leonel wanted to speak again.
"Don't say another word" Ryan cut him off. All this while, his eyes never left his phone.
Arianna walked along the road in slow steps. Her face was red and swollen. It was evening already, as she had been crying for hours. Her head was blank, no thoughts were coming in. The cool evening breeze fanned her, cooling off the heat her body radiated, but it wasn't enough to cool what she was feeling inside. Something deep, something hotter than a furnace. The pain and sadness that brewed inside of her, made her heart ached so much she wanted to end life that moment. What wrong did she do? Who did she offend in her past life that she had to suffer like this? How can a man that call himself her father be so cruel to her? He was never kind to her, not even as his wife's niece. And the worst part, he married her mother's sister after dumping them. Why is her life like this?
Her phone had been ringing for hours but she wasn't picking up. She didn't even care to look at who was calling. She stood in front of the house, her legs rooted to the ground. She couldn't bring herself to go in. It wasn't her house afterall. She wanted to turn back but at that moment Yoo Na opened the gate.
Feigning a smile, she said "Oh Arianna, you're back. We've been waiting for you" she pulled her in, noticing her swollen face. "Have you been crying because you regret what you did today? Don't worry, I forgive you" she said with a smile. Because she knows why she's happy.
What is she trying to do? Who is she putting a show for?
"Come, your uncle is waiting for you in his study" she dragged her towards Do-hyun's study. Rosalie who sat in the living room wondered why her mother got so nice to Arianna, so she followed them.
Arianna got inside the study room, while Yoo Na stood by the door.
"Arianna, I can see you're back" Do-hyun said, but Arianna was quiet. What should she call him now? Uncle? Or father? She would never do that.
"I have important news" Do-hyun began with a grin. "The CEO of Han group has agreed to invest in the company, and in return for that he has asked for you." he spoke without shame.
Arianna lifted her eyes from the pile of books and glared into his eyes "What did you say?"
"CEO Han has requested for you in return for investing in the company. So, from the day after tomorrow you'll no longer be living here. You'll be living at his residence" he replied with a glint of joy. Arianna stared at him for a long while, her face devoid of any expression, and then she broke into laughter. Do-hyun and Yoo Na were shocked, including Rosalie who was eavesdropping. Why the hell was she laughing?
Arianna laughed so hard that she began to cry, tears streaming down her face. She stopped taking in a deep painful breath.
"You amuse me, Mr. Baek" she said "I'm quite surprised though. It's so unfortunate that I have a father like you" Everyone was in shock. How did she find out? Rosalie who knew nothing had her eyes wide. What does she mean by that?
"Oh, you thought I won't find out? And now you want to trash me like garbage?"
"Arianna, what are you...."
"Shut up!!" She yelled, her voice shaking the walls. "You abandoned me. You abandoned me before I was even born. You married this wench here who called herself to be my mother's sister"
Yoo Na was furious. She came forward to slap her, but Arianna caught her hand in air, flinging it to the other side.
"If you ever lay your finger on me again, I'll make sure to ruin your life and that your daughter before it even begins" Arianna said menacingly, making Yoo Na flinch. "I'll sue all of you for child abuse!"
She turned to Do-hyun "You! Tell me what I did wrong. What did I ever do to you? I've been living in your house for twelve years but you never treated me nicely. What did I do? What did my mother do? She worked so hard to give me a better life, but all you did was torture me and wanting to take the money she left behind for me. What kind of father are you? A father who abandons one and focuses on the other. A father who is so cruel and greedy that he sold his child away....." She couldn't talk anymore as she was already crying. Her heart was so heavy that it pulled her down to her knees, she cried even more.
No one said anything to her. They cared the least about it. And so what if he's her father? He already left them. There's no need trying to go back on the right foot. Besides, the deal was already made, and he's not changing his mind.
After some minutes, she stood up and said "I would never be the reason for your success, Baek Do-hyun" With that, she stormed out of the house.
Yoo Na hurriedly went to living room, took her phone and dialed a number. When call went through, she said "Do it!"
