Four Years Later
Third POV
"Come on you can atleast take it easy on me, Sensei!" Sho called out as he thrusted his sword at the black haired priest.
Successfully managing to stab the priest in his shoulder.
'Finall-' Before he could celebrate his victory, a voice rang from behind.
"That was an afterimage, be on guard." Ewald corrected his students, slamming the flat side of the blade on Sho's head.
"Guh." Sho cried out in pain, as he hurriedly sprouted several blades from the ground at the Cardinal Decon.
The priest in response, casually swung his blade shattering all the blades headed towards him.
Fragments of the shattered blade flew in the air, obscuring Ewalds view.
'So that's why he created those swords, a smokescreen. But..' He rather than trying to block the attack, concentrated his strength in his legs and jumped into the air.
" A smokescreen is useless unless one is fast and capable enough to capitalise on it." Ewald called out as he looked down, the blonde head appearing near his previous location.
"Yeah, but you got nowhere to go now." Sho muttered, something Ewald with was able hear.
Another Holy sword appeared in Sho hand, covered in Green-Gold aura, which when swung was able to create an arc of wind headed towards his teacher.
Ewald just grinned in response, he tightened his grip around his blade and swung in releasing a wave of holy aura.
The golden wave of Holy aura effortlessly overpowered the wind blade making its way towards Sho, who could only stare in shock.
"Come on you never said you sword could do that." A wall of Holy sword sprouted infront of Sho, shielding him from the attack.
"That I didn't, but I did say expect the unexpected." Sho gave out a tired breath, as he felt a sword pricking his neck. "And you blocked your on view with the shield, remember that."
"Well that's enough for today." Ewald removed his sword away from his students neck, looking at the young man now sprawled on the floor.
Covered in bruises and sweat, and taking laboured breaths, after their short sparring session.
"Come on how was I supposed to know your sword could do that without charging up." Sho tried to calm himself as he looked at his Sensei. " And what that sword anyway?"
Mostly all Holy Swords can release their aura in wave or arc, but most usually required a moment of charging up to do so. Only the most exceptional of swords being able to do so instantaneously.
'And I doubt that sword is one of the greatest.'
" Ah this sword, it one of famed blades of Empress Boudica." Ewald said as looked at the fame blade of legend. " While the blade isn't something on the scale of Durandal or True Excalibur, it is still greater than any of the fragments or Swords such as Ascalon."
'And I am wrong, that blade is supposed to be greater that Even Ruler and Ascalon?'
Excalibur Ruler in itself was supposedly a blade that could allow one to fight on Ultimate-Class level or Ascalon was able to eliminate High Class opponents and possibly even High class Dragons.
'But it's aura, it's barely comparable to two-three fragments.' Sho focused on the blade in Ewald's hand, feeling its aura.
"It doesn't feel that strong does it?" Ewald chuckled at his students expression." Well interms of aura alone this one is compared Ascalon or Ruler, but it is able release its aura more frequently with consequences. And technically there's another sword like it, which together is considered one sword."
"So that why.."
"Well none of that matters, just return to your quarters. Tomorrow is a big day for you." Sho enthusiastically nodded his head at Ewald's words.
"By the way sensei, who is g-" Sho paused as a sword appeared few inches from his face.
"As I said, return to your quarters. You will learn everything you need to know tomorrow." Ewald said in a sweet voice, sending shivers down the young man's spine.

Sho POV
"So he beat you once again?"
"There is no need to remind me that." He gritted his teeth, as the man beside him laughed at his words.
Dulio Gesualdo, one of the strongest Exorcist, and the possessor of the second-strongest Longinus; Zenith Tempest.
'I guess all the Longinus users have a few loose screws.' He mused as he thought of the Longinus weirder of this generation.
"What was it again? 'I will finally beat him, I have a plan.'" Dulio imitated him as he spoke what he have said to him.
"How was I supposed to know he would have a Sword that could spam holy aura." Dulio just grinning at my words.
"That the thing you don't." He extended his hand, ruffling Sho's hair. " Exorcist 101, Expect-"
" ' the unexpected.' I know I have heard it a thousand times." Sho said as he swatted Dulio's hand away.
"So it's tomorrow then." He slurped up the noodles looking at Dulio, before nodding his head.
"Any idea who it may be?" Dulio just shook his head in response.
"Welll, they won't assign you to just anyone." Dulio lifted two of his fingers as he looked at Sho. "They either would need to be a Holy weapon user or they will assign you to someone from Japan. Or maybe even both."
"That's enlightening." Sho said before turning toward the Longinus User. "I never asked Who was your partner?"
Dulio smile froze as he recalled the memories with his "Partner", for some reason Sho felt like he knew the answer.

"It was sensei, wasn't it?" Sho only got a weak nod in response.
"At the time Church didn't want to loose a wielder of one of the Thirteen Longinus, so they assigned the strongest active Exorcist they had to look after me." Sho just chuckled at that, atleast Sensei would be too old to go with him as his partner.
'I wonder who will be assigned to me?'

An: So next chapter onwards the story truly kicks into high gear. Arc 1 starts.
Spoiler this story, will have Arc 1, followed by Arc 2, then two-three chapters of interlude. And with that Vol 1 ends.
