Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: Reasonable? It’s Perfectly Reasonable!

"Doctor, do you think any of the kids at the orphanage need psychological counseling?" Taylor asked Dr. Locke with a warm smile.

The moment the question left Taylor's lips, two names instantly popped into his mind.

Lucy. Puffin.

"Dr. Locke, are you confident in your ability to treat Pokémon psychotherapy?" Taylor thought of Puffin, the little guy who was a bit too affectionate.

Taylor had been trying to figure out how to solve this problem, but so far, the results had not been very obvious.

"That's natural." Locke nodded confidently; he was quite knowledgeable about various mental health issues.

Seeing this, Taylor told Locke about Puffin's situation.

"Hmm... what you're describing sounds a lot like dependent personality disorder, but it also seems to have some abandoned cat effect mixed in..." Locke offered his thoughts after listening.

"Then I'll have to trouble you." Taylor patted Locke on the shoulder.

Taylor always adhered to the principle that experts should handle matters.

In the field of psychology, Taylor was undoubtedly a novice. He didn't know what illness Puffin had, but he knew that it would be best to let Locke take charge.

Locke paused for a moment, then smiled and nodded.

"By the way, Dr. Locke, there are several volunteers at the orphanage now, one of whom is Lucy..." Taylor briefly mentioned Lucy's situation.

"That's easy, I'll handle it." Locke also made a note of the matter.

With the help of a professional psychologist, Taylor felt a little more at ease.

Although he had a system, he was not omnipotent, and there were some things that required the help of professionals.

Having resolved the issue of finding a psychologist, Taylor decided to observe the effects and see how effective Locke's counseling was for Puffin and Lucy.

It would be best if the problem could be solved, after all, Taylor didn't want Puffin to live such a cautious life every day.

"Dr. Locke, please come with me for a moment. From now on, your office will be in the clinic of our orphanage," Taylor said warmly.

Upon hearing this, Locke followed Taylor, but his gaze towards Taylor held a hint of amusement.

"This is it." Taylor pushed open the door to the infirmary, and Locke followed him in. Then he noticed Teddiursa lying in the medical pod.

After several days of treatment, Teddiursa looked much better. Although its skin was still rotten, at least it had stopped oozing pus, and some areas had shown signs of healing.

"This is... an erosive skin disease caused by Viridian Fever?" Locke looked at the medical pod with some surprise.

Taylor wasn't worried about Locke finding out anything, as everything in his orphanage had a legitimate source.

"Yes, thanks to the medical pod developed by Silph Co., Teddiursa's injuries are under good control." Taylor looked at Teddiursa, and after noticing that the bear's small eyes were looking at him, he smiled and waved to Teddiursa.

The Teddiursa raised its little paws and waved them with all its might.

"Silph Co.? That's impressive. I remember their new medical pods are very expensive, and they're still experimental models; they haven't even gone into mass production yet," Locke said admiringly. Taylor smiled.

Actually, this thing had nothing to do with Silph Co.; it was just a reasonable method within the system.

"I was lucky; I was selected right after submitting my application," Taylor explained calmly. Locke nodded thinking; this director was quite lucky.

It was worth noting that some hospitals were willing to pay such high fees to purchase these experimental medical pods; one machine could buy the equivalent of a dozen welfare homes like Taylor's.

Surprisingly, Taylor didn't sell the medical pod; instead, he chose to keep it for himself.

Taylor cleared out some space in the infirmary so that Locke could continue treatment there.

Ordinary illnesses did not require Locke's treatment; only psychological counseling would be handled by Locke.

"Dr. Locke, you can leave work early when there are no patients requiring treatment," Taylor added, looking at Locke. After all, Locke was there to rest, so Taylor naturally wanted to give him more time to relax.

Although it was unknown how long Mr. Locke planned to work at the orphanage, as long as it could help Lucy and Puffin alleviate their psychological problems, then it was all worthwhile.

"Yes, Director. But I also have some things I need to purchase." Locke smiled and handed a slip of paper to Taylor. Taylor took it, glanced at it, and then nodded.

They contained medical equipment and several kinds of medicine, presumably for treating Puffin.

After settling Locke in, Taylor left the infirmary.

The Teddiursa's injuries would take a few more days to recover, so Taylor didn't need to deal with Teddiursa's problems during this time.

So Taylor chose to go and accompany Bonk in practicing Rage Fist, while also counting the number of times Bonk unleashed Rage Fist.

While Taylor was helping Bonk with his boxing practice, he saw Locke come out, find Lucy, and stand there talking to her.

"It seems that this Mr. Locke is quite professional... But why do I feel like something's not quite right?" Taylor scratched his head, feeling that there was something strange about the way Locke was looking at him.

It wasn't that he was being looked at strangely, but Taylor always felt that the other person's gaze seemed to carry a sense of inquiry.

It's like the way scientists in a lab look at mouse.

"It must be an illusion." Taylor didn't pay much attention to it. That Mr. Locke had been in the mental hospital for too long and had some mental problems.

After Bonk finished practicing Rage Fist, Taylor went to buy the things Locke needed, packed them up, and took them back to the orphanage.

Time slowly passed as Bonk swung his fists again and again.

[Director Taylor, Dratini's injuries have fully healed. We will send Dratini to the orphanage at 7:00 AM this morning. Thank you for your help.]

In the morning, Taylor yawned as he looked at the messages on his phone.

"What a coincidence! Dratini is here today, and Teddiursa is also finishing its treatment today..." Taylor rubbed his eyes.

Several days had passed since Locke joined the team, and Teddiursa's seven-day treatment period also ended today.

Taylor was still thinking about how to deal with Teddiursa when, unexpectedly, Dratini was also sent to the orphanage today, which suddenly increased his workload.

"And the volunteers also finished their work today, right?"

Things just happened to be coincidental
