Chapter 22 - Trials (Part 4)

A flaming, fireball materialised in front of the puppet and shot towards Rahu; he barely had the time to react before it hit his right shoulder. His dominant arm.

BOOM!

He was blasted back. Not only was it scorchingly hot, but it also carried an immense force that knocked him backwards.

He frowned, glancing at his shoulders.

His shoulders were burned, and immense pain hit him like a freight train. He ignored the pain and switched the sword to his left hand.

He dashed towards the puppet before it could make any other moves. The temperature in the room rose to new heights.

Claangg!!

Another clash echoed. They fought back and forth, with Rahu at a slight disadvantage since his shoulder had been burnt. It restricted his movements.

"There's no way that a puppet could use fire element, there would be a core for it to even use an element", Rahu concluded, even in the midst of a fight, he didn't stop thinking.

He concentrated his [Sword Aura] in his eyes for a single second, and indeed, the puppet's entire structure became extremely clear to him. In an instant, he manifested his [Sword Intent] in his sword, which glowed brightly and slashed at its neck.

BOOM!!

The puppet blasted into several pieces, scattering across the room. Rahu took a few steps back.

Indeed, it was as he had assumed. The Mana was highly dense and concentrated in the neck of the damn puppet.

Rahu grinned, his smile stretching wider than usual," You're not done yet, right? You bald puppet"

Just as his voice echoed in the arena, the fallen materials started to vibrate and moved towards the core.

In no time, the puppet was as new as it could be; in fact, it looked even more sturdy and shinier than before.

"Well, the things a man has to do just to see a beautiful woman, sigh" He shook his head in lament and sighed, readying his stance.

Absolute silence fell over the mountain peak the moment they heard the sacrilegious words Rahu had just uttered.

Sweat dripped down like tap water from the Elders' foreheads. Even Yueshan was no exception. Her breath hitched, her expression stiff. The mischievous aura around her vanished like a puff.

"That crazy brat!!?" she screamed in her mind.

Their sect master was, well, not exactly the definition of "Poke me" person; she was walking a disaster of a woman. And Rahu…this guy just said it—actually said it! With the tone of a man casually visiting a cute country girl to pick flowers.

"Hahaha…"

A melodious laugh rippled through the room; it was heavenly, enchanting, borderline intoxicating. Yet not a single soul dared to respond.

High upon the pedestal at the peak, a woman sat on a throne, one leg crossed over the other. Her face was hidden, unreadable, and untouchable.

Elder Tristan was sweating like a pig. In his long life, never had he heard someone mention their sect leader like that. He was actually scared that in a fit of rage, she would destroy the hall, but hearing her laughter, it doesn't seem to be the case.

"The youngsters these days sure have grown bold", the sect master's voice echoed in the hall, but the more astute ones caught a hint of amusement.

…

For two hours straight, the two of them had been going at each other's throats. Or rather, Rahu is destroying the puppet every few minutes. And with each exchange, his [Sword Intent] was being sharpened at a frightening rate.

Soon, the battle—or it could even be called that.

The moment the puppet stood back up and rejoined, a single strike was all it took to decimate the puppet. It got to the point that Rahu simply sat on a stone, waiting for it to resurrect just so he could kill it again.

"That's enough, disciple Rahu, you've proven your strength" Elder Thorne finally appeared, letting out a tired sigh.

This wasn't something even a Vital Core Realm cultivator could destroy, even with [Sword Intent], let alone a mere Body Structuring Realm cultivator.

Rahu stopped; he couldn't lie, he was quite exhausted a bit. With a stretch of his arms, he walked over to Elder Thorne.

"Congratulations on becoming an inner disciple of the Divine Sword Sect. The further details will be delivered later to you"

"Good to know, and what about that 'reward'?" Rahu grinned.

Elder Thorne choked; he, too, had heard about his earlier remark. Now, when he heard that question again, he felt his balls tingle and tighten!

"Y-you will be called when the sect master o-orders" Elder Thorne pushed the words out of his throat with great difficulty.

This arrogant prick!

"Alright", Rahu nodded. He didn't push further.

Soon, following Elder Thorne's instructions, he arrived at the foot of a massive gate with the words 'Divine Sword Sect' written boldly on the entrance.

"Well, well, guess who became an Inner Disciple?" a mischievous, teasing voice echoed in his ears. There stood Vivianne, with arms folded beneath her racks, looking at him teasingly.

Hearing that voice, Rahu smirked,"Well then, what's the reward for my win?" he asked, his eyes unabashedly roaming all over her body; not a single spot was spared.

Vivianne today was wearing a black robe with a sword pattern in its back, it was the sect uniform.

Judging by the robe she wore, the sect's taste in fashion sure was...bland. But that didn't diminish her beauty in the slightest.

Hearing his remark and feeling his eyes all over her body, her face turned beet red.

"Rascal!" she hissed in shame, but her smile didn't waver. She didn't want to admit it, but she kind of missed this shameless guy.

"Heh, so where's your residence? There's no way I'm going to stay alone on my peak?" Rahu asked with a smirk.

"W-we will see about that l-later. Now let's go, I'll show you around the sect," she held his arm and dragged him towards the sect. Just as they were about to enter, a voice rang out.

"You bastard, how dare you touch Vivianne's hand!?"
