"M-Master!?"
She hurriedly got up and ran outside her residence, with Rahu calmly following. When they arrived outside, he saw Yueshan sitting on top of a stone, leaning against a tree with her hands behind her head.
In short, a lazy bum.
"Master!" Vivianne dashed towards Yueshan, hugging her.
"Vivi, you are a grown-up now; you shouldn't just run and hug me." Despite those words, her hands involuntarily hugged her back.
Step Step
Hearing those footsteps, she narrowed her eyes and glanced towards the newcomer.
It wasn't that she hadn't sensed a presence earlier; she had simply ignored it, thinking it was some servant.
When her eyes landed on Rahu, who was coming out of Viviann's residence, with his hands behind his back and a small smirk on his face—she froze.
She instantly grabbed Vivianne's hand and probed with her dense [Mana Sense].
"Vi—ViVii…y-you" she stammered, words dying in her throat, as she watched Vivianne's face flush bright red by the second.
She shook her head and sighed. Well, it was a matter between youngsters, who was she to intervene? And her old heart certainly couldn't scold her adorable disciple.
"I have to thank you, you raised a wonderful disciple."
Yueshan's eyes twitched slightly as she turned towards the source. There stood Rahu, confident as always, but the sarcastic remark and that annoying smirk surely attracted her attention.
"I did. Now I'm wondering where I went wrong in raising her, to have her end up in the hands of a guy like you."
Yueshan shot back.
"Hmph, you are the last person to talk about relationships," Rahu snorted. A woman who is still single after centuries certainly loved to throw 'unwanted' advice.
"Wha-? Brat! In my younger days, I had more suitors than your entire generation of family members!"
Pushing Vivianne aside, Yueshan glared down at Rahu. The superiority was practically oozing out of her expression.
"Oh? Are you saying you're as old as my great-great-great-great-grandfather's grandfather? Heh, you certainly look the part."
The venom in his voice was so sharp that a vein popped at her temple. Clearly, she had lost the battle here.
"Brat, you're lucky that you are ViVi's 'little' boyfriend, or I would have surely taught you a lesson here."
Rahu shook his head; he refrained from arguing further. He had to be the bigger man here. He simply walked over to Vivianne, who was struggling to control her laughter, her shoulders trembling slightly.
Yueshan's personality sure was eccentric, perhaps from old age.
"Vivianne, go find Karma and tell her to fish out some information about the Auction hosted by the Blackthorn Exchange. You too go with her and sell these," he waved his hand, and a ring materialised.
It was the Gravium ore; he still had 20kg of raw material. Vivianne glanced at Rahu and nodded. Just as she was about to walk away, he grabbed her hand and smashed his lips on her.
Smooochh~
A long minute of a French kiss followed under Yueshan's disbelieving eyes.
"Y-you bastard! M-Master is here!"
She shoved him away and ran off to find Karma.
"You sure are bold."
Yueshan remarked, thinking she was unusually easy-going on this arrogant prick.
Just as he was about to rebuke, an ancient, heavenly voice thundered in his ears.
"Meet"
His head buzzed as a sharp pain made him frown. Yueshan too sensed the Mana signature.
"Go. The sect master is calling you. And let me say this: You better behave in front of her, or even the gods couldn't save you from becoming dust in her smoking pipe."
Yueshan warned him, emphasizing the word 'behave'. After all, who knew what this arrogant guy might say in front of her?
Rahu's eyes twitched. "What do you think of me?"
Yueshan just harumphed and walked away.
…
The Celestia Blade Peak
The main hall was empty; no Elders present whatsoever. Rahu slowly walked inside.
The hall was grand, its floor wrapped in velvet, pillars marked with intricate sword designs, and the atmosphere was ancient and sharp.
High on the pedestal was a grand throne, which reflected the grand sword mounted behind the peak.
He walked in. An average cultivator would have been overwhelmed by the hall's atmosphere, but he was no ordinary cultivator.
He was the bearer of one of the forbidden physiques. It should be the other way around.
"Mhm, your confidence is admirable." A heavenly melody sounded in his ears. His clear violet eyes blurred for a second.
When the clarity returned, he found himself in a garden. More specifically, a beautiful valley. The Mana here was several times denser than in other places.
Rahu, though alert, looked around curiously to find the source.
"Don't bother, the current you cannot see me"
The voice echoed; it was sweet as honey.
Rahu sighed and bowed his head.
"What does the sect master want with the lowly me?"
He chuckled and spoke.
"You… carry a mark of someone I know"
Rahu's eyes widened. He still couldn't forget that incident; that mysterious woman had done something to him. And hearing this woman's words, it seemed the bitch had marked him with something he didn't understand.
"Is it harmful for me?"
He didn't ask what it was or how it worked. Those details were all secondary.
"No"
She, too, didn't inquire about it or ask him where he got that.
He nodded in relief, "So, sect master, why did you call me here?"
"Your potential is admirable, you're probably one of the few who have mastered [Sword Aura] at such a young age," she said, acknowledging his deeds; clearly, the wisp of [Sword Aura] he used during the trials didn't escape her eyes.
"That may be correct, but sect master, what about its unusual color?" Though he asked that, he understood one thing—as strong as she was, she couldn't sense his physique.
"You will find that soon enough. The reason I called you here is to inform you of something important."
Rahu nodded. If even the sect master deemed it something important, it must be crucial.
The valley's winds blew past his face, his hair fluttering.
"Six months from now, an inheritance realm will be opening—hundreds of thousands of cultivators are going to participate in it."
Rahu's eyes widened, an inheritance realm!? Doesn't that mea-!?
[DING!]
