Chapter 31 - Too Arrogant

And indeed from the shadows a figure emerged, her aura heavy and powerful. She was a beautiful woman; accompanying her was a man named… whatever his name was.

Of course, there were Zira and Selvus. Who had been watching the battle from whence it started.

"You…are a lot stronger than you appear, and that [Sword Intent] of yours is unusual", Zira muttered as she walked towards Rahu, unbothered.

"Hmph, Ignorant", Rahu snorted. It's wan't that she didn't know what [Sword Aura] was, but she refused to believe such a low cultivation man had mastered it.

Soon she stood in front of him, a head shorter than Rahu. Her face was beautiful, but it lacked all the emotions such a beautiful face must have.

Her eyes were cold; she didn't seem to be affected by the slaughter he had unleashed.

"You are strong and unnecessarily…handsome"

Yes, even she couldn't deny that he was handsome, especially those eyes of his. She felt like they were staring right at her soul. Maybe…just maybe she should refrain from killing him and just throw him outside the city.

"Hand your pet and leave, I won't kill you, leave the city and never come back", she said, looking straight at Rahu, who was watching her with amusement.

"Z-Zira!? What are yo-?" Selvus exclaimed. He couldn't believe she was letting him go just like that.

"Hah! HA! HAHAHAHA! You won't kill me!? What a joke! Bitch, who do you think this daddy is?" Rahu laughed out loud, as if he had heard the biggest joke.

Zira's eyes twitched, and she slowly exhaled.

"Too arrogant"

As the words left her mouth, an unbelievable, horrifying pressure descended upon Rahu; his eyes went bloodshot, his skin began to crack, and he felt his bones snapping.

Yes, this was the power of a peak Spirit Realm cultivator. In this stage, one cultivates a [Spirit Seed] within them to lay the foundation for their soul in later realms.

After all, the mortal body could only handle limited power.

"...I see. So this is the Spirit Realm, quite terrifying to be honest," Rahu smirked. Despite the bone-tearing pressure, he refused to bend his knee or his back.

"Do you think this Daddy here didn't know you followed me here? Heh, fool!—KARMA NOW!" Rahu shouted with all his strength.

Instantly, a circular black-white dome spread out with Rahu as the centre, enveloping both him and Zira. Selvus had already backed down the moment he felt that wisp of Spirit Realm cultivation aura.

"W-What is this!? Zira stammered, horrified! She felt all the power in her body become disrupted, let alone her [Spirit Energy], even her Vital Core was having difficulty summoning elements for her.

"M-My power?"

"Power should be the least of your worries now, sweetheart." A demonic voice echoed in the dome.

Zira snapped her head towards the source and saw a pair of otherworldly violet orbs looking down on her. She felt terrified, gritting her teeth. She tried to summon her sword from the storage ring, but even the space inside the ring was being affected by the domain.

"But don't worry, sweetheart, you're too useful to die here, you see, my wife there isn't properly doing her duties, so I need a new maid for my house. So, don't blame me," Saying that he stepped towards her with his hands behind his back.

"I see…it was my mistake, I let my guard down and paid the price for it" Zira just sat there and closed her eyes.

"Hehe, Karma mark her, and be quick, we've already caused enough commotion"

Zira turned her head and saw a strange feline emerge from the shadows; she gasped. It was her first time seeing such a strange creature, half-white and half-black.

Karma walked over to Zira and simply put one of her paws on her back. A few seconds later, a black and white, yin-yang sigil formed.

Zira instantly lost her consciousness and fell on her back. Rahu, though still injured, picked her up.

The dome shattered, revealing the presence of Karma and Rahu. Stepping out, he saw a severed Selvus's head on the ground and a beautiful woman guarding the area.

"You bastard…that was too risky!!" Vivianne shouted as soon as she saw him coming out, holding an unconscious Zira on his shoulders like a sack of potatoes.

"Heh, the greater the risk, the greater the reward, little peach. I have gotten myself quite the maid here," Rahu chuckled, slapping Zira's butt, which earned a pout from Vivianne, and a round of playful bickering continued.

"Oh, and did you take that bastard's ring?" Rahu asked, his voice sounding like a greedy goblin—according to Vivianne.

Vivianne rolled her eyes,"Of course"

The three of them quickly scurried away from the area. But unknown to them, a shadowy figure emerged from the shadows.

"..."

"It seems my Master will be quite happy seeing her 'boy toy' being well and…strong. Well, at least the deaths and screams of the servants will stop now that I've located him. Sigh…as always, I have to clean up the mess" Saying that, she waved her hand and all the dead bodies dissolved in the shadows.

She once again looked in Rahu's direction and disappeared.

In Vivianne's residence, Core Disciple dwellings.

"So, Karma, how much of our control is she under?" Rahu asked, leaning slightly against the door frame.

"Master, my powers are limited, but I can assure you, since my blood is connected to yours, she cannot betray you under any circumstances", Karma said, leaping into his arms and rubbing herself against him.

"Good work"

A single word of praise from him was enough for her; a giddy feeling coursed through her entire body.

"What are we going to do with her?" Vivianne asked, after all, her backer was none other than one of the core disciples!

"I told you, didn't I, I needed a maid—partly, but I want some allies for now. After all, would I be called Rahu if I just took this attack and did nothing? Heh…it seems my dear master is quite impatient" Rahu laughed out loud, sarcasm oozing from his voice.

Of course, he knew it was Mo'rath's work; there was no way that guy would be quiet.

"Hehe, let's send him and his assassin friends a gift then"
