"Massterrrr~" As usual, Karma lept on Rahu's hands as soon as she saw her. He caught her in his hands and placed her on his lap.
"M-Master"
An awkward voice was heard. Rahu turned his head and saw Zira standing there, fiddling nervously. It seemed she was still struggling with her new identity.
"Good, you're adapting, if you behave, I won't go too hard on you" Rahu nodded at her; she had adapted to her new position quite fast. She had potential.
"Alright, Zira, your mission has been changed a bit. We are going to abduct someone. Your task is to enter House Ravencar territory and fish out every possible piece of information about their princess, Azaria Ravencar and yeah, by information, I mean every single detail—likes, dislikes, her schedule, her friends, protectors, her food, everything"
Rahu looked at her with serious eyes and issued a long order.
"A-Azaria? Y-you mean The Azaria Ravencar? Daughter of Rahevira and Rowen Ravencar!?, Ha-hah hah, master, there's no way that you're goin–" Zira's face went pale; she didn't mind the information collecting part, but the kidnapping one was another matter altogether.
That is one of four great households, you know? Excuse me? Mr Logic, please tutor this guy a bit, no, tutor all of him!!
"I know your concerns, but don't worry, I have a plan. Now go, don't make me repeat myself," He ordered in a cold tone.
Such a big task did not require kind words; it demanded discipline and fearlessness.
Zira took a deep breath and nodded. Indeed, what good life was there for a slave? She might as well die doing this.
"Oh, and by the way, send me a good formation master. Any profession is fine as long as he is competent," he added.
"Master, there are many, but do you have a specific type in mind?" Zira asked, a bit puzzled by his question.
"Oh yes, I do," Rahu replied, demonic grin stretching across his face.
…
Hearing the careful instructions, such as meeting location, rendezvous point etc, Zira nodded.
"Depart, immediately", Rahu gave a small nod, commending her resolve.
Hearing that, she immediately left.
"Now, Karma, the sect hasn't found the corpses of those assassins yet. Bring them all to me. Even if the bodies are not there, their blood will suffice"
Hearing that, Karma nodded and leapt, running straight toward the Divine Sword City.
"Alright, Vivianne might be arriving soon, so I might as well make some preparations"
…
After a while, he went to the sect plaza, where he saw many disciples moving back and forth. The sect plaza was located at the centre of the sect, connecting all other peaks.
"Um, are you Mister Rahu?" Just as he was staring at the disciples, a timid voice echoed behind him.
Turning back, he saw a frail, fidgety boy in his early twenties. Rahu raised his brow.
"It is, and who are you?" Rahu questioned.
"U-um, Senior Sister Zira sent me here and told me to follow your orders." The youth completed his sentence; he was clearly nervous and was even stammering slightly.
"You?A formation master?" Rahu frowned. He wasn't one to judge a book by its cover, but this was a bit too…weak.
His cultivation was at the early stages of Vital Core Realm, and judging by his attire, he was an…Inner Court Disciple?
"Yes, sir, I'm a formation master specialising in Illusion Arrays and Formations! I may be weak physically, but I can assure you in this sect. In the field of Illusion formations, no one can beat me!"
The moment the topic switched to formation, it seemed the youth suddenly found a backbone.
"Alright, if Zira had sent you, your talents must be good. And what's your name?" Rahu nodded, seeing his confidence, he decided to give him a chance to prove himself.
"My name is Lian, sir. I have heard of your deeds, and I'm honoured to meet you"
The youth—Lian, bowed and said in admiration.
"Good, flattery will get you everywhere. Now let's get down to business. Let's go, come to my residence," Rahu nodded, a bit amused. But there was no time for games.
…
Soon, they both arrived at Vivianne's residence. In the large living room, both Rahu and Lian sat face to face on chairs.
"So, what do you need me for, Sir Rahu?" Lian asked, still a bit nervous in his presence.
"Tomorrow, I want you to set up a grand formation in some part of the Silverleaf forest, and it must be powerful enough to trap Origin Realm cultivators", Rahu spoke, straight to the point.
"That's…a bit expensive", Lian said, his expression stiffening a bit.
"Don't worry about materials and your pay, I'll handle all that. Just answer me, can you set up a grand Illusion formation or not?"
He understood his concerns, and honestly, he still had many more high-grade Mana Crystals on him, which he had taken from Selvus' ring.
"Don't worry, sir. As long as I have adequate materials, even peak Origin Realm cultivators won't escape!" Lian patted his chest with a prideful expression.
"Good, here. Buy whatever materials you need with this" Saying that, he tossed a ring toward Lian, who caught it hastily.
"T-This! This is more than enough!" Lian shouted excitedly, Two high-grade Mana crystals!! It was enough to support him for a lifetime!
"Don't worry, Sir, I will be sure to make the best Illusion formation of my life tomorrow!" It seemed he was really excited.
Rahu gave a small nod. "It must be completed before tomorrow afternoon. Understand? Now go"
With a last bow, Lian reached the mountain peak.
Just as he was about to relax, a shadow streaked through the main hall and landed straight in his arms.
"Massterr~"
It was Karma, who had returned. It seemed she really loved this type of greeting.
Picking her up, he noticed the hand between its mouth.
Karma spat the arm to the ground and looked at Rahu.
"Master, there weren't any bodies when I went there. It seems someone took the corpses with them or just…vanished them. I was only able to find this arm lying in the bushes"
Karma pointed toward the bloody arm, wrapped in a black cloth.
"More than enough, hehe…let's go. We are about to commit the biggest heist of The Century," Rahu laughed, spreading his hands towards the vast sky.
