Chapter 31 - Chapter 31 Even Cell Wouldn't Bother Killing That Kind of Fool

Lott's first day back at school came to a close.

Shinomiya Un'yo, the new chairman of Shuchi'in Academy, received over a dozen resignation letters and hundreds of transfer applications that very night.

It didn't take a genius to figure it out.

These teachers and students wanted to run away.

If they couldn't handle it, couldn't they just avoid it?

"What a bunch of fools."

Was Un'yo's disdainful evaluation.

Faced with a monster capable of destroying a planet with a mere gesture, if he truly intended to do something, did they really think changing locations would save them?

Unless you moved to a different planet, nothing would work!

Knock Knock~

Just then, the door to the Chairman's office sounded.

"Enter."

Un'yo responded.

His younger sister, Shinomiya Kaguya, stepped inside slowly and offered a perfectly noble bow to her third brother.

"Brother."

"You're here, Kaguya." Un'yo stopped what he was doing and said to her,

"Starting tomorrow, you will transfer to Class 2-A."

A visible flashed across Kaguya's face upon hearing this.

'Class 2-A?'

'Wasn't that...'

Just as the image of that man's back view surfaced in Kaguya's mind, Un'yo spoke first:

"Correct. It's the class that man is in."

"This... Why..."

"Find a way to join his team, make him see you as one of his own."

Un'yo didn't spell it out, but with Kaguya's intelligence, how could she not grasp his meaning?

"...Understood. I will do my best."

After a brief moment of hesitation, Kaguya nodded firmly.

"I leave it to you. If you succeed, you can ask for anything you want."

Hayasaka, listening outside the door, couldn't help but shake her head with a bitter smile upon hearing Un'yo's promise to Kaguya.

She had thought Un'yo was slightly better than Oko, but now, it seemed they were just as bad as each other.

'If the young lady truly gained that man's recognition, would she need to ask you for anything she wanted?'

'If that man just said the word, you would be licking his feet while obediently handing over the entire Shinomiya Conglomerate!'

...

Over the next two consecutive days, the student population at Shuchi'in Academy visibly decreased.

The specific reason was known to everyone.

Barring any surprises, even more would leave in the coming days.

"Sonoko, is your father okay?"

Mouri Ran walked alongside her best friend, Suzuki Sonoko.

Since Sonoko's father, Suzuki Shiro, was also one of the top council members of the Hero Association, Ran felt the need to ask.

"He's fine, he's fine. To be honest, I was scared half to death too. Luckily, he abstained from voting back then, so Genos let him off the hook."

Sonoko patted her chest in relief, then suddenly remembered something.

"Oh yeah, Ran, my mom told me I have to transfer to Class A starting today. Want to come with me? I don't want to be separated from you."

"Eh? Why the sudden transfer?"

Ran asked, puzzled.

"Hmph, need you ask? Going to lick someone else's boots. It seems the Suzuki Group isn't so impressive after all."

Shinichi Kudou, walking behind the two girls, pouted in displeasure.

His father, Kudou Yusaku, was formerly a mystery novelist. After monsters appeared, he leveraged his excellent deduction and work abilities to become a high-level executive in the Hero Association.

Having been influenced by his father since childhood, Shinichi immediately guessed Shiro's little scheme.

But Shinichi was still very unhappy.

After all, he used to be one of the top show-offs in Shuchi'in Academy-

Then Lott had to make his grand 'entrance', stealing all his thunder.

Ran turned her head and glared sharply at Shinichi.

Her childhood friend's deduction skills were indeed good, but she felt his emotional intelligence was pitifully low.

'Sonoko's family just went through such a huge ordeal, and you have the leisure to make sarcastic remarks?'

"Busujima-senpai, don't you know how dangerous that person is? Why are you getting involved with him?"

As the Kudou Shinichi trio entered the school building, they happened to see a boy pestering Saeko, rattling off a long list of complaints.

"Komuro-kun, who I choose to be with is none of your business, is it?"

Saeko's attitude was icy cold, completely different from when she faced Utaha earlier.

"I-I'm just concerned about you, Senpai. He's a terrorist who could destroy our planet at any moment!"

Takashi persisted stubbornly.

"Hey, hey, Takashi! Takashi!"

"Idiot! Stop talking, shut up already!"

A boy and a girl nearby frantically tried to signal Takashi with their eyes.

Takashi shot a resentful glance at the two.

They're Miyamoto Rei and Igou Hisashi, his childhood friends.

Back when they were kids, he and Rei had made a playful promise to marry each other.

But as they grew up, Rei grew closer and closer to Hisashi.

This was also the reason Takashi started pursuing Saeko after meeting her.

'If you don't want me, Miyamoto Rei, then I'll find someone even prettier than you!'

'That'll show you!'

Perhaps because his former crush and his rival were present, Takashi was getting a bit carried away now.

He raised his voice another notch. "Busujima-senpai! You saw it too, right? How that person treated human life so recklessly! He killed so many people and heroes! If you stay with him, Senpai, you'll definitely be killed too!"

Growing increasingly agitated, Takashi completely failed to notice the faces around him growing paler, even deathly white.

The expression on Saeko's face across from him also shifted from icy cold to a cold sneer.

Just then, a figure walked past Takashi.

Lott!

Seeing the other party's figure, the indignant words that were almost on the tip of Takashi's tongue were instantly choked back in his throat.

Watching Lott walk away without even looking back, Takashi secretly breathed a sigh of relief in his heart.

'D-did he not hear?'

However, before Takashi could fully exhale that breath, an icy cold hand came to rest on his shoulder.

"You, just now, you insulted Sensei, didn't you?"

Genos's voice rang out like a funeral bell from hell beside Takashi's ear.

Koushida's neck turned stiffly, mechanically.

But what met his gaze wasn't Genos's cold face.

Instead... it was a burning palm!

Boom-

Hearing the explosive sound from behind him, Lott recalled a certain evaluation Piccolo gave to Mr. Satan-

Even Cell wouldn't bother killing that kind of fool.

'Hmm, but it's fine. It's not like I have to do it myself anyway.'
